i like this alot, but its not exactly what i was looking for, i need a pedal that will give me more "keyboard" sounding tones. I was listening to dream theater and a few other bands, i thought how it was cool they had a guitar solo with a keyboard soloing with him. ( Opeth- Beneath the Mire 4:13-4:45, is my perfect example) is there anything like a guitar midi controller that would work for this?

i play the bass and i have this one in my pedalboard.i think it's preety awesome pedal but you have to spend hours to understand all these features.the most difficult part is to mix with other effects especially when you mix synth sounds with an octaver and a phase shifter..i'm sure that it will dissapoint you in the beggining,but keep your faith :)

@bassandguitargreg No, the opposite, you want your guitar going straight into this thing. The more synth-like settings are VERY particular about having a clean input and will glitch if it's not clean... it also helps if one can play cleanly in the first place :-)

On the Throw away your Television solo he uses the Obi-Wah effect and if you google John Frusciante Pedal Board there should be a picture of Frusciante's pedals with the Line 6 FM4 next to about 5 or 6 Moog Pedals and since he only really started using lots of Moogs on Stadium Arcadium it means he probably used it up until he left the band.

Can you sync the step-filter type effects you're doing around 5:00? I know this pedal doesn't have midi but does it have a tap tempo or something? There's no LCD so how do you set a tempo?

maybe i am too old fashioned. this modelling boxes pretty much sound less than decent on higher volumes. At least i gave them a chance, from the pods over the pedals and the stompbox modeller. You get what you see, plastics.
