These are wonderful, I really like these, and would love to see this developed further into for instance synaesthesia, i.e. people who "see" the music in colours. But I must ask one thing, what's with the hand gesture with the roman numeral "V" ? is that a hand-imitation of a gun, or what?
You're right, JorgeOrpinel, the function is either a V7(b9)(no root), or frankly VIIº7. Functionally both are the same. Melody-wise, however, the root of the VII resolves in a much more smoother way, which is appropriate for this unstable and emotional passage. (After all, it is Mozart ;-)

@JosephGlaser N6 = neapolitan 6th, it is the chord of II flat. in C major it is the chord of D flat major, almost always used in 1st inversion resolving to V (G major)
Hahahaha I love VII!!!

I like the deceptive cadence at 0:20. That's the way I acted when I first heard it.

From which theory do you get the emotions for each function degree? There have been a few different ones throughout history.

what chord is "Z"??
caracterav 2 months ago
@caracterav I believe that's an "N" which is a Neapolitan chord. AKA flat II6 (flat major two first inversion)

You should become a conductor. With hands in the pockets :)

I must agree that the V chord has way, way too much 'tude. Perhaps a facial expression of anticipation would be more apt.

you must do the same with the andantino of sonata D.959 (schubert)

The chord at 1:19 doesn't sound like V ... the melody has le. What am I missing?
JorgeOrpinel 9 months ago
@JorgeOrpinel probably because it's a chord without its fundamental (it's a dim 7th chord - in F# minor, a chord of C# without a C#)
zviane 9 months ago
@zviane Actually, that chord acts as the dominant of Bminor (IV of F# min), so it lacks of F#, not C#.

@JorgeOrpinel Because this chord is in first inversion ( 6) with the third in the bass.

scritchlescargot 1 year ago
en fait, là on pourrait mettre l'image de V/V partout comme ce concerto est si romantique et il y a pas un accord juste dedans. :)
