The flailing animation should start as soon as he's flying towards a certain death, not after 5 second. Just do a path prediction check to see if he fall is likely to be lethal or not.
Kind of a noob question here, but does the landscape generate randomly and indefinitely like it does in Lugaru and Black Shades? (obviously I haven't preordered. YET.)
the very last bit of the video when he hits a pillar and falls closely to the wall, it would be nice to see an animation where the it touching the wall or holding on to it as he falls accompanied by a sound effect, this could also serve a platforming purpose to slow down falls so you can land safely ^~^
I really don't see the need to "defend" Wolfire, when they're not being attacked. Maybe we like the videos and we're trying to offer feedback. Which they are completely free to disregard anyway.

Wolfire please i beg u to add some kind of supermode to this game, as dumb as it might sound. It would be more than awesome to have like an additional gameplay option or gamemode or something that would make everything like glowy and have a heavy distance blur, together with some really extreme cases of slowmotion to give u that "im-awesome" kind of feeling. Playing games baked makes u feel badass already, but with something like that i think that u would get a badassgasm if ur baked.
right now the flail looks like a turtle on it's back in mid air. I'd suggest making the arm movements more subtle and maybe make them more of a circular / composed motion. I mean, he is a ninja rabbit after all. Leg movements I can't really say, I would make them more subtle as well, maybe even take them out to some extent. But with the million opinions on the flail already, who actually cares about all of the above :D
I'd really like to see a delay in between grabbing the ledge, and climbing up. Right now, it seems like he's grabbing climbing up in the same instant. I'd like a pause to make it seem like he has to get a good grip first, like when the ledge is high, how he scrambles, but not so severe. I also like the flail, except that I think he should ook down when he falls. Pretty cool update. Gonna preorder one of these days...
HEY guys you can use the flial animation when you jump 4 example from a building to an other with the same height just use Z when jumping and it will do it automatically then press Shift to make a ground roll if u want

Also, I think it would be really cool if you added an alternate "flail" animation for when the character is up against a wall as they are falling where they desperately grasp at the surface for hand-holds.
I think It would be a cool Idea to be able to set certain aspects of physics in the game. For example, being able to withstand any fall, jumping super high, super strength, etc... It would give the game a super-hero feel to it and give players more freedom to play how they want to. (oh, and also destructible structures would be awesome too! Kicking an enemy through a wall would be very satisfying!)

Bodies never bounce, they are not solid enough, they release all their energy as heat, they are soft, like pillows, so they compress, but there is no elastic force to make them decompress, so they do not bounce like a ball. They just kind of compress and decompress very slowly, well slowly in terms of a falling object, it happens in less than a second. if you ever make it to high school or college you will understand that.

Some of it goes to smaller, harder parts bouncing. the head would bounce a little, though the neck would hold it down for the most part, the hands might be thrown in one direction, usually not up, but they may fly up towards the head or hips when you impact the ground. You can look up videos of it im sure, probably not with real people but with some sort of human analog.
@GOOB3000 Erm, well, no, it does, to some extend, though the type of surface being struck by a falling body would likely have a lot to do with it. There are plenty of videos on the net of people falling to their deaths and bouncing. Disturbing, maybe, but also true.

You are speaking of dx10 motionblur as it was a ready to use feature of the API, which it is not. Besides, the game is using openGL, which has support of FBO's, which can be used to implement motionblur quite easily.
imo the flail animation shouldn't start at the and of the fall , it should be based on how far you are from the ground it doesn't make sense to start panicking 1 sec before you hit the ground , unless you can get out of that situation.
To improve the flail think about a more human response to falling from a height, as well as a more realistic one. Maybe the physics, a terminal velocity, should change the rabbit's stability, causing him to roll and pitch wildly. This falling dynamic would be related to variables before the jump; e.g. speed, terrain.
I agree with a lot of people that the flail animation needs some work and should maybe be a bit more intense but it's still a really nice touch, I'm not sure about having a flail on every jump thoughht

Flail animation is good if you're falling at great speed, not at every jump. What the fuck is wrong with you, do you wanna turn this into "enter the matrix"?
It would be awesome if the ledge grabbing was actually a move you are supposed to trigger in the similar fashion than in the first tomb raiders : when you are in mid-air and press the grab/block button, you get a blended animation with your characters reaching one hand in front of him and flaying the other one so it's not an immediate ledge grab animation and let the player know if he will approximatively reach a ledge or not.
@WolfireGames You do need to work on the flail animation a little more, and I'd like to see the flail animation through all jumps.. I mean if you jump in-between a gap(as in 2 buildings) then you flail your arms no matter what.. just work on the flail and add it to the regular jumps too, I'll give you an example game: DC Universe Online, If you have the super speed power up and jump while its active then you flail your arms, that was a good touch aswell, if you need any more info pm me.

I don't think he should flail his arms on every jump. He's a rabbit! He knows how to jump and is in full control when doing "smaller" jumps.

I agree with a lot of people that the flail animation needs some work and should maybe be a bit more intense but it's still a really nice touch, I'm not sure about having a flail on every jump thoughht

the flail animation looks great and is a good indicator of when you are falling to far, people don't flail when they feel in control or are sure of a jump, don't listen to the top comments, they didn't think it through enough. great work as always guys.

It would be awesome if the ledge grabbing was actually a move you are supposed to trigger in the similar fashion than in the first tomb raiders : when you are in mid-air and press the grab/block button, you get a blended animation with your characters reaching one hand in front of him and flaying the other one so it's not an immediate ledge grab animation and let the player know if he will approximatively reach a ledge or not.

@WolfireGames You do need to work on the flail animation a little more, and I'd like to see the flail animation through all jumps.. I mean if you jump in-between a gap(as in 2 buildings) then you flail your arms no matter what.. just work on the flail and add it to the regular jumps too, I'll give you an example game: DC Universe Online, If you have the super speed power up and jump while its active then you flail your arms, that was a good touch aswell, if you need any more info pm me.

@Speed12236 If it were applied to the regular jump, that would mean it would be in everything. People(or rabbits) don't start flailing their arms if they jump from ground planning to land in the same spot

@gavinmod The models are made in Blender and Mudbox, the game uses their custom-built Phoenix Engine, I believe.
