Nice buddy. About the covers, yes you are allowed to wear covers inside with a firearm or colors. As pointed out, you'll see the servicemen in the backround of speaches and stuff hold the colors with headgear. Also, in military courts, the guards wear covers because they have sidearms.
Caught the rifle on my foot, whent to throw it up, but the cocking lever somehow went under my pantleg tip. So when I went to fling it up the rifle was put into a spin and spun right into my knee cap.

Well as far as AFJROTC goes If you bear the national colors, or a fire arm, you can wear a cover.
