Well, WoW was specifically designed for the masses (retards), MO was designed with real PC gamers in mind.
Yes, some aspects of the combat are too slow, and done very poorly, but at least its superior to a lot of MMO's.
They know what features would make a good MMO, but Mortal Online is a failure when it comes to making a great MMO. It's still more worth playing than anything else.

What happens when the characters are the same level and have equal gear? I don't really think these First person oblivion games really take too much skill, its like a half assed version of an FPS and you just strafe about and step foward and back swinging...it's pretty slow paced aswell, but if you call that skill and it gives you an erection who am i to judge? I think you misunderstand these "anti wow elitist retards", Mortal Online Merely takes SOME skill during PvP combat, as opposed to NO skill in World of Warcraft PvP. When you encounter someone with the same gear, the same stats, in Mortal Online, and you both use the same exact weapons, its more based off of; 1) Who gets hit first, 2) Who can dodge the most 3) Block the most at the right times 4) Ultimately uses their stamina wisely, because once you're out of stam, you're also out of luck.
What you dont understand is that in WoW it does take skill. Clearly you dont do arenas in wow and actually dominate. For each class theirs 3 branches... So u have to know how to fight each one.... And what to do when.. Also gear becomes a huge roll.. To get good gear, You simply have to be GOOD. Being good takes skill. Like i said Do arenas at 80, and dominate. Link me your Arena teams armory and then u can speak. Otherwise dont compaire this to wow.

the only thing that has truly been "done to death" is the shitty MMO's that are coming out and have been out. So while Mortal Online may not exactly be a very good game, its better than most, but it could be better if it had some features that darkfall has.
Graphics are dated. This almost looks like a Starsiege: Tribes mod, looks very similar to Vampire the Masquerade. Combat looks EXTREMELY limited and slow.... definitely does not look like a game to anticipate.
@Musao Graphics are pretty good actually, when i started playing the beta i was surprised to hwo good the graphics really are, and remember that this uyses the unreal 3 engine so... not that dated. Combat is defently not limited... At least its not the spam fest most mmos are it actually depends on player skill adn not some gear and stats. Finally a game with decent gameplay!

Well Elder Scrolls/oblivion was more based on roleplaying and questing, etc. MO is not about questing. It IS getting better, but still not a very good game, and first person view makes the game suck really bad. maybe they will add third person view feature.

There is tracetory, its definetely going straight. It looks like that when u shoot near. But it has nice curve wich makes it very hard to shoot with bow.
I'm looking for a free game (I mean free in two ways, free as in not pay to play, and free as in explore) with graphics that are good like this or Darkfall (cause even though it sucked, had some decent graphics) and is big and like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Holy dear mother of God. I recently wrote a letter to MO developer who was proud of his awesome combat system and got an answer. He told me that I sould not call MO combat lame and wait for beta.
And in letter I told him to use combat from Blade of Darkness not from Trespasser...
There is Mount & Blade with similar combat but with just few ajustments and it looks like so much better!
PS. Animation look awful. Reminds me about Monster Diamond 3D period of games.
Man I was gonna give MO a chance but this is terrible. Inventory system is boxes which is trash. CAnt move while using archery and the AI looks terrible. For heaven sakes you even mine in first person. I shiver at the shear nastiness I've seen.
atm beta only allows for low settings so the graphics look like ass, but gameplay is coming along very well, but constant server crashes and bugs, I will admit though, Darkfall graphics don't even look as good as mortals low settings, kinda made me laugh, and yes i played Darkfall and it's horrible imo
For early beta the combat system looks 10x better than what darkfalls is... I've also played MO briefly, killed a few people, and its really fun and realistic.
I have seen darkfalls, people jumping around with bows or spamming left click and running in figure 8's.... Its a complete clusterfuck retard fight fest.

You can thrust, but the damage dealt is reduced a lot, theres a few different ways to attack, you should read the quickstart guide, it tells you. Anything other than regular attack though does reduced damage in my experience

Well Elder Scrolls/oblivion was more based on roleplaying and questing, etc. MO is not about questing. It IS getting better, but still not a very good game, and first person view makes the game suck really bad. maybe they will add third person view feature.

The lighting seems to be really lacking in the game. Everything looks flat and plain. Have they addressed this at all? Do they plan to add more ambient light to the world? More shadows etc?

But Star Vault has built a fairly poor game with the options they gave themselves, things may improve before release, but it is unlikely. Their greatest enemy is their closed mindedness, which is very apparent and unfortunate

There is tracetory, its definetely going straight. It looks like that when u shoot near. But it has nice curve wich makes it very hard to shoot with bow.

I'm looking for a free game (I mean free in two ways, free as in not pay to play, and free as in explore) with graphics that are good like this or Darkfall (cause even though it sucked, had some decent graphics) and is big and like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Is this what I'm looking for? Cause in the trailer it just looked like a torn apart world, kind of like Cataclysm is doing to WoW. Oh, and I want a good PvP and Magic System. Holy dear mother of God. I recently wrote a letter to MO developer who was proud of his awesome combat system and got an answer. He told me that I sould not call MO combat lame and wait for beta.
And in letter I told him to use combat from Blade of Darkness not from Trespasser...
There is Mount & Blade with similar combat but with just few ajustments and it looks like so much better!
PS. Animation look awful. Reminds me about Monster Diamond 3D period of games.

Man I was gonna give MO a chance but this is terrible. Inventory system is boxes which is trash. CAnt move while using archery and the AI looks terrible. For heaven sakes you even mine in first person. I shiver at the shear nastiness I've seen.

atm beta only allows for low settings so the graphics look like ass, but gameplay is coming along very well, but constant server crashes and bugs, I will admit though, Darkfall graphics don't even look as good as mortals low settings, kinda made me laugh, and yes i played Darkfall and it's horrible imo

For early beta the combat system looks 10x better than what darkfalls is... I've also played MO briefly, killed a few people, and its really fun and realistic.
I have seen darkfalls, people jumping around with bows or spamming left click and running in figure 8's.... Its a complete clusterfuck retard fight fest.

You can thrust, but the damage dealt is reduced a lot, theres a few different ways to attack, you should read the quickstart guide, it tells you. Anything other than regular attack though does reduced damage in my experience

Oh will you people shut up with these stupid comments? the game looks great considering its in beta and the combat looks very real, In real life you dont need to hit your enemy 10000x times just because he has an Uber Epic set and lots of buffs and you just a normal sword so just return to your Wow .
And many thanx to the guy who had the guts to break nda and show us some of the gameplay of this game , the beta leaks are the only things that keep me hyped about the game

All that matters is getting your kills and looting them. True PKing is victory, successful acquiring of items and kills, no matter how you get it, matters not. Honor is for the weak, and if you don't take advantage of opportunities that arise, you will not be successful in Mortal Online, thats a cold hard fact. And it's apparent that this game is not for you.
