Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser works really good.
I have had acne since 8th grade. It's not severe acne but it's a pain in the padded ass when you've had it for so long. I been using burt's bees now for about a month and it's been working great. Idk. I just thought I shouldn't keep it to myself. It's worth a try I think.
Could I use both salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide at the same time? By this I mean rubbing the salicylic acid on, waiting for it to dry, then using the benzoyl peroxide.
BP is the best product for acne. It should be used alot on actuall pimples and then lightly on clear skin just to protect it. Your skin may get a little dry, but if you have alot of acne, it is worth it.
Ok well, I have the clean & clear continuous acne cleanser & it's 10% benzoyl peroxide.
At first when I used it my acne was less, but the few remaining acne were more red & irritated looking. But I still kept using it, & about a week later all my acne was gone.

one thing to also consider is that benzoyl peroxide AGES your skin, so long-term use could make you appear much older when you hit your 30s. The reason for this damage is oxidative stress (caused by the oxygen obviously).

i started using a treatment cream on my acne about a week ago. It contains 10% bezoyl peroxide. It really has made a difference, and my skin is much better. Im going to continue using it until all of my acne is completely gone. It does make your skin really dry though, mine looks chapped so i have been using a lot of moisturiser! but really its the only thing thats ever worked for me. so overall i do recomend this is you have acne, but get your moisturiser at the ready coz you will need it

I have been battleing it for a good 3 years now and it has been the only cream to really work. it contains 5% benzoyl peroxide, and it does dry out your skin but very mildy. i do NOT recommend a generic brand. generics are a knock off of the real product. so if your serious about clearing ur skin up, the REAL product is the way to go =)

What sucks about Benzoyl Peroxide is that I read it can actually CAUSE acne scars. Nice to know, now that I have been using it for weeks that it could leave me with acne scars. They don't put it as a side effect on the drug website, but on other websites about BP it says scarring from it is possible. I am upset.
If u can get Clorofoam EF...it's sulphur base.. my dermatologist prescribed it to me.. and it works like a charm.. Benzoyle and Salicylic dry out my skin.. Clorofoam really clears my skin and I don't have any breakouts.. so check it out! if u're interested..

great video if you put the benzoyle peroxide on before the lotion it might work better or even better than it is because it can penitrate the pores more
I think benzoyl peroxide really kills the bacteria and really does the job. Salicylic acid just opens your pores and slowly kills dead skin cells, but it doesn't do what benzoyl does.
You apply it where your prone to break out, so if you break out on your chin use it all over your chin.
You can use it as a treatment on individual spots if you want but by putting it everywhere that spots may occur (even if you dont have any there at the moment) it prevents spots from forming.
Yes I do and during the day I use it every other 1 or 2 days so my skin can heal from drying, during the day I wear white or grey shirts cause it wear dye (bleach) your colths, (put a lot on at night!)
Salicylic acid also delivers oxygen. Hence the name "Oxy" for the popular product. ;-) Also, doesn't salicylic acid contain alcohol? Is that good for the skin? Christian Bale in American Psycho doesn't seem to think so.

You can get OXY which contains 5% BP if you get the sensitive kind or 10% depending on which bottle you buy =D and if you dont feel like spending 10 dollars for facial wash you can buy Clear Pore by Neutrogena it has 2.5% BP

For body acne I have had the best results with Stridex pads. There are like three different fomulas. If you have pimples, go for the sensitive ones (alcohol free) but if you have really really bad places go for the intense ones. Twice a day (morning/night) followed by a quick thin smear of benzoyl peroxide over the infected area at night should do the trick!

There are many different types of acne scars. It is difficult for me to determine the best procedure for your skin without being able to see the problems. If your acne scars are severe, the only options are available through a dermatologist. I would recommend seeing a professional because scaring is a very complicated thing to get rid of. Yep that sounds like a good skin care regimen to me!
I would not recommend any of Clean&Clear's moisturizers because they all contain fragrance. You really are better off getting a plain oil-free and fragrance-free moisturizer. If you feel like it makes your skin too oily I suggest using a small amount of the Benzoyl Peroxide over it.
Why are you using such a concentrated benzoyl peroxide treatment? just notice that BP does age the skin, so the higher the concentration, the more likely that you will get rid of the top layers acidity that can combat bacteria by itself.
i use clearisil daily pads. and it works GREAT! i use it right after a warm/hot shower and its the best time because ur pores are open. do not use when you have not washed your face. its not an overnight thing but i took the risk to use it and its wonderful.
For acne on the back i recommend OXY Daily Cleansing Pads. I find the Benzoyl Peroxide ones work the best for body acne.
As for your face, try and only use a very mild cleanser that contains no fragrance. I recommend Cetaphil. Next, use a fragrance free and oil free moisturizer. I love Olay's moisturizers. Finally, apply a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide cream. The 2.5% will not be overdrying on your skin and if you use a mild cleanser and good mosturizer you should have no dryness problems

Proactive is a massive company that spends tons of money on advertising. The main ingredient used is Benzoyl Peroxide. Many people have mixed feelings because the product is not meant to treat those with moderate to severe acne (even though it shows those rare cases on the commercials.) The ingredients are fairly good for your skin, but they are not going to be powerful enough to clear up your skin if you have more than the occasional blemish here and there.
A wash with Salicylic Acid followed by a lotion containing Salicylic Acid and a 5%-10% Benzoyl Peroxide topical lotion. Build up on the steps though because your face will become super dry if you try it all at once.

That percent is way too high for your face if you are just beginning to use it. Try to use a lower amount.

Yes I do and during the day I use it every other 1 or 2 days so my skin can heal from drying, during the day I wear white or grey shirts cause it wear dye (bleach) your colths, (put a lot on at night!)

Salicylic acid also delivers oxygen. Hence the name "Oxy" for the popular product. ;-) Also, doesn't salicylic acid contain alcohol? Is that good for the skin? Christian Bale in American Psycho doesn't seem to think so.

I'm in my 30s and had this idea that BP was meant for younger skin, I'm not sure if that's true or not- but I'm thinking of trying it again as in summer I get bad breakouts and the salicylic acid isn't working anymore. Thanks for posting this, it was helpful =)

i use acnefree which has Benzoyl peroxide in it and I don't know why but it kind of bleaches my skin (no joke my face is a few shades lighter than the rest of my body) what does control the oil production better cause I have oily skin?

You can get OXY which contains 5% BP if you get the sensitive kind or 10% depending on which bottle you buy =D and if you dont feel like spending 10 dollars for facial wash you can buy Clear Pore by Neutrogena it has 2.5% BP

omg i got a prescriptive B.P. face wash and it freaking turned some parts of my hair green!! not really noticeable, but in the light it looks yellowgreenish!

What % or concentration of salicylic acid? wart off is 15% and burns my skin (looks infected now...) I chest/abdominals shave and get them on the curve beneath my belly button (not lower, nothing dirty here)
Is this generic acne face wash (that is like 2% salicylic acid).

Hey, I'm using Neutregena shine free foaming face wash and 10 percent BP at night, and the sam wash and 2.5 percent BP in the morning. How's this sound? It seems like if I keep it up that it will work! Ha give me some advice please! Oh and you look beautiful btw :) Thanks!

Oh yea, i don't get the BP lotion part, is it suppose to be any pimple cream that contains 5-10% BP or strictly BP lotion that is 5-10%.

For body acne I have had the best results with Stridex pads. There are like three different fomulas. If you have pimples, go for the sensitive ones (alcohol free) but if you have really really bad places go for the intense ones. Twice a day (morning/night) followed by a quick thin smear of benzoyl peroxide over the infected area at night should do the trick!

Impressive. I have been searching info about BP, i watched videos from skin doctors, but none of them could be able to explain BP any better then you did.
This is the only video tells how BP does actually work on skin.

Dude, the gel benzoyl peroxide doesn't dry out your skin and you can wash it off 5 minutes later.

There are many different types of acne scars. It is difficult for me to determine the best procedure for your skin without being able to see the problems. If your acne scars are severe, the only options are available through a dermatologist. I would recommend seeing a professional because scaring is a very complicated thing to get rid of. Yep that sounds like a good skin care regimen to me!
I would not recommend any of Clean&Clear's moisturizers because they all contain fragrance. You really are better off getting a plain oil-free and fragrance-free moisturizer. If you feel like it makes your skin too oily I suggest using a small amount of the Benzoyl Peroxide over it.

Why are you using such a concentrated benzoyl peroxide treatment? just notice that BP does age the skin, so the higher the concentration, the more likely that you will get rid of the top layers acidity that can combat bacteria by itself.

i use clearisil daily pads. and it works GREAT! i use it right after a warm/hot shower and its the best time because ur pores are open. do not use when you have not washed your face. its not an overnight thing but i took the risk to use it and its wonderful.

For acne on the back i recommend OXY Daily Cleansing Pads. I find the Benzoyl Peroxide ones work the best for body acne.
As for your face, try and only use a very mild cleanser that contains no fragrance. I recommend Cetaphil. Next, use a fragrance free and oil free moisturizer. I love Olay's moisturizers. Finally, apply a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide cream. The 2.5% will not be overdrying on your skin and if you use a mild cleanser and good mosturizer you should have no dryness problems

First start off with 5% and work your way up to 10% if your skin can tolerate it

Haha I just brush mine twice a day with UltraBrite toothpaste. The toothpaste has kept them the white I got from Crest White Strips. Thanks about my hair =) I use Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo and Redken All Soft Conditioner followed by Nexxus Headress Leave In Conditioner

Proactive is a massive company that spends tons of money on advertising. The main ingredient used is Benzoyl Peroxide. Many people have mixed feelings because the product is not meant to treat those with moderate to severe acne (even though it shows those rare cases on the commercials.) The ingredients are fairly good for your skin, but they are not going to be powerful enough to clear up your skin if you have more than the occasional blemish here and there.

A wash with Salicylic Acid followed by a lotion containing Salicylic Acid and a 5%-10% Benzoyl Peroxide topical lotion. Build up on the steps though because your face will become super dry if you try it all at once.
