I am not republican and I have a 187 IQ. The most convincing evidence i am seeing leads me to the conclusion that Co2 is not toxic, nor is it causing temps to rise. I found out that Gore's charts from the ice-core samples were off by 800 years. That is, after an increase in temps, 800 years LATER we saw higher Co2 levels b/c there is more life with less ice.
IPCC was formed by people who are by no means "independent". Further, gaining control over all "life" emissions will not reduce TOXINS.

What other planets are losing their ice caps? I know Mars is, but that has nothing to do with changes in the sun. It's primarily because of orbital changes, which are well understood.

Mars has already been explained. I looked into Jupiter. The equator is getting warmer, while the poles are getting colder. There is no evidence of global warming on Jupiter. Just a changing weather pattern. Most of the heat driving Jupiter's atmosphere is internal. Only about 4% comes from the sun. What's going on there is local.

Planets go through periodic changes in their orbit and tilt, called Milankovich cycles, that can alter the climate (and are believed to cause ice ages). Mars, because it does not have a large moon like us, has more extremes (its rotation axis is more susceptible to changes in its tilt).

Florida, in July, totally enjoying the moderately warm temperatures we've been experiencing, nearly breaking a record low a couple days ago.
The last time I checked on these supposed "Scientists" I found out most of them were actually weather reporters. Global Warming is only part of the problem, if Mr. Inhofe said that Global Warming is only one part of the whole reason we're experiencing temperatures coupled together with natural weather patterns, I would tend to agree with him. I think the problem is the way he states his belief to Global Warming, it comes off as very vitriolic and mean-spirited.

Sure, there will be more costs now, increased taxes and the cost of subsidising renewable energy sources. However, imagine the cost of chaotic weather that would result from climate change. Agricultural production would collapse, water resourses will become unreliable. The cost of these things alone would be colossal.

Most agriculture relies on seasonal patterns, which are pretty predictable. The remaining part of your comment highlights your ignorance of meteorology. Short term predictions are difficult because many variables are at play. Long term forcasts are not calculated in the same way. They are based on things like atmospheric composition, land surface area, average ocean temperature etc - ie things that influence the weather in a very predictable way.

A barrel floating in the ocean will grow a seaweed farm. It would be easy to create rainforest sized algae farms mid ocean. The seaweed farms would photosynthesis, as well as the lifeforms themselves would be made of carbon.
Cheap. Proactive. Harmless.
Also mid ocean seaweed (algae) farms could be towed to counties in need for emergency food fuel.
No downside.
Build seaweed farms from shore and tow them out to sea and anchor them. Polluting companies could sponsor the low costs.

Here's the solution to this entire debate: End the EPA and adhere to property rights. The EPA is just a worthless bureaucracy that burns up most of its funds before they hit the ground level where they are needed most. If someone is polluting your air, water, or land then they should be accountable in a court of law. That way, it matters not if global warming is real, the pollution ends one way or another.
This is Ron Paul's plan for environmental protection, and it's the only plan that works.

Yes, solar cycles are biggest factor in climate change. To argue this is strange, but they do. NASA site stats confirm; we are now switching to a cooling cycle. Sun recently had period of severe flares. Now the Sun is TOO silent and fears are for an ice-age SOON.
The science for Co2 causation is faulty. Charts are 800 years off. Turns out Co2 increase FOLLOWS (by 800 years) higher temps. Easy: ice melts, more life ='s more Co2. When the sun goes down, we can feel that it affects temps;-)

You make a good point. Money and greed behind so much of this debate. Sadly, i find lies on BOTH sides. The oil barons in line to "corner the market" on "carbon credits" are full steam ahead with a cap and trade tax, and they support any and all science which suggests that nobody else (besides them) should be able to produce C02.
I spent some time on the NASA site, and a few similar. It's a mixed bag, depending on the argument you choose to support. Sun appears to be biggest factor 2 temps.

I am not republican and I have a 187 IQ. The most convincing evidence i am seeing leads me to the conclusion that Co2 is not toxic, nor is it causing temps to rise. I found out that Gore's charts from the ice-core samples were off by 800 years. That is, after an increase in temps, 800 years LATER we saw higher Co2 levels b/c there is more life with less ice.
IPCC was formed by people who are by no means "independent". Further, gaining control over all "life" emissions will not reduce TOXINS.

Seeing that several other planets are losing their polar ice caps at an even faster rate than earth, is at least a good argument for the sun having something to do with climate change. Jupiter, Venus, Saturn; there are moons around these planets; once solid ice, which are turning liquid as well now.
Check out some of the Cassini uploads on the NASA site, REALLY cool stuff, especially, Titan. They have some color shots of Titan. (which they believe is mostly liquid methane and nitrogen).
NASA; information about solar flare cycles; tempt affects on planets. We just completed a very active cycle. Now the Sun is quieting. Now there are worries about impending ice-age.

Mars has already been explained. I looked into Jupiter. The equator is getting warmer, while the poles are getting colder. There is no evidence of global warming on Jupiter. Just a changing weather pattern. Most of the heat driving Jupiter's atmosphere is internal. Only about 4% comes from the sun. What's going on there is local.

Temps are not declining. There was an article on this a couple weeks ago. They sent temperature data to 4 mathematicians, but didn't tell them what it was. Just numbers. They were instructed to look for trends in the data. None of them saw a cooling trend.

Also, if polar shifts alter the ice-caps on mars, why would it not be true for earth? We already know that we are headed into a magnetic polar shift on this planet. this might help to explain why global temps are falling, while we're also seeing changes on our own polar ice-caps.

Ok, now you are just making stuff up. It has nothing to do with magnetism. Planets go through periodic changes in their orbit and tilt, called Milankovich cycles, that can alter the climate (and are believed to cause ice ages). Mars, because it does not have a large moon like us, has more extremes (its rotation axis is more susceptible to changes in its tilt).

Get a compass. Check it at various times. IT ALLOWS YOU TO SEE THE MAGNETIC POLES (fields) and also allows you to see shifts in your area. It's changing, and this is seen ALL OVER THE PLANET.

Just for the record: I am not thinking this is the 'end of the world" or that the total shift must happen quickly. I only know that science is telling us the magnetosphere has "switched' before on this planet, and that it will again. There is much evidence that we might be headed to another shift, but nobody knows how soon, or what the implications really are. I observed the changes personally in my area, and then later found out what was causing my compass to act funny. I thought it was broken

Sun has little or no effect? When it's dark and cold I get the feeling it might be a major factor.

Inhofe is one of the few Senators who understand this issue. CO2 is in saturation, and adding more (double) co2 just lowers the Height to extinction from 10 meter to 9.97 meter. Moreover, as you increase co2 the temperature effect variation DECREASES and make the climate more stable and plants then increase growth by 60%, which helps retain water much better, and thermal mass of plants increases temperature STABILITY. To be "green" you must love co2...it is our bridge to life with plants.

"In saturation"? What the hell are you talking about? CO2 comprises just 0.03% of Earth's atmosphere. At least it should, but it's inching up. Yes, plants consume CO2, and expell O2 as waste, just as animals inhale O2 and expell CO2. But that's the issue right there, there is a delicate balance. The biomass is just large enough to support itself. Throw in a few extra human-made percentage points of CO2, and the biomass can't handle it. Look at Venus' atmosphere...

The last time I checked on these supposed "Scientists" I found out most of them were actually weather reporters. Global Warming is only part of the problem, if Mr. Inhofe said that Global Warming is only one part of the whole reason we're experiencing temperatures coupled together with natural weather patterns, I would tend to agree with him. I think the problem is the way he states his belief to Global Warming, it comes off as very vitriolic and mean-spirited.

Agricultural production would collapse, water resourses will become unreliable. The cost of these things alone would be colossal.

Most agriculture relies on seasonal patterns, which are pretty predictable. The remaining part of your comment highlights your ignorance of meteorology. Short term predictions are difficult because many variables are at play. Long term forcasts are not calculated in the same way. They are based on things like atmospheric composition, land surface area, average ocean temperature etc - ie things that influence the weather in a very predictable way.

Both notoriously difficult to model with any accuracy over any meaningful time period, yet many believe IPCC's computer models on climate running for hundresds of years! If you honestly believe the science is there, perhaps you care to explain how there has been no net warming since 1998 despite a 4% increase in CO2 levels, perhaps you care to explain that 2008 is now -.2 c below 20 year average according to UAH data. Perhaps you care to explain how the Antarctic is achieving record levels of ice extent and concentration since records have been taken in 1979, perhaps you care to explain how the sea level has declined 2 cm in the past decade.

taking inter annual variability to draw a tend (like you are doing) is nonsense because you are comparing noise instead of the actual trend.
The long term trend is clear : a decrease in summer ice in the arctic.

Last year we had five snowstorms and 3 hailstorms one spewing hailstones the size of golfballs. We just came out of a 4 week snowstorm and their is more coming. Besides that, 5 years isn't climate, it's weather.
And last but not least : AGW means the GLOBe is warming. It doesn't necessarilty mean nowhereville canada is warming too.
