The single hull ferry to the island was completely unstable, nearly rolling over the whole time in very calm water. Doubtful these single hull boats would be legal in the USA. NCL piles 200+ passengers onto narrow 40-50 foot long boats with two levels and a high center of gravity.
When one flips over -- and it will, based upon my experience in very calm water -- they will lose millions in lost revenue and bad PR.
Nico, in response to your email question: Island Beach Party on Roatan stunk ... wildly overpriced. Was disappointed that so many restaurants had additional charge. Muster for offshore excursions was often a madhouse, due to there being only 2 elevator banks on this ship. We're probably not going on NCL for our next cruise. Hope your experience is better

Norweigan It left from NY then we traveled to Orlando and went to universal studios [but u can go w/e you wanna go down there] then we went to Bahamas for a day did sum shopping then they took us to sum private island at night we stayed there then we traveled back home
Carnival is way better on that cruise we went to Mexico, Belize, and Keywest and we left from Orlando =]
ill be here sometime after may 7th, idk how long it takes to get from florida to the bahamas and i am boarding the ship may 7th

We were there June 15 2010. I like Great Stirrup Cay but loved the Blue Lagoon Beach and Swim excursion in Nassau better.

The double-hull catamaran ferry used was stable.

I went to that cay on the SS Norway years ago. Great snorkeling. That's probably the only thing I remember about that place.
