  • Hi Doctor Brown,

My Father got affected with a heart storke and while examiniations/Tests conducted found with HIV +ve. so Does HIV +ve stops further conducting angiogram ?

    Please answer this .

    Thanks in advance.

  • @naughtyramesh

    No. It should not.

    Good luck!

  • @naughtyramesh. No it should not.

  • hi doctor Brown, my dad just underwent angioplasty and doctors placed 3 stents inside his arteries. he had no idea that he had heart problems until he felt really really tired all day and sometimes couldnt even walk.

do i also have a risk of the condition he developed. he is 45. and i am 23.

    thanks

  • @marinerheart

A family hx of early onset heart disease (less 55 for men or less 65 for women) is out of your control, so don't focus on it; just control that which you can such as being physically active, not smoking, preventing or controlling diabetes, preventing or controlling high blood pressure and so on. I like to tell people that 'genes' load the gun but your lifestyle pulls the trigger.

  • @JeffreyBrownMD thanks a lot doctor.

i nw understand every bit of it!

  • @marinerheart

You are at a higher risk of heart disease because of your dads early onset of coronary artery disease. When it comes to heart disease risk factors, you have factors in your control and factor out of your control. continue...

  • @marinerheart . Yes your risk maybe elevated from people without a family history of early heart disease. But remember your genetics load the gun but your lifestyle pulls the trigger.

  • dont smoke man not cool

  • shit, how can i prevent being a man whem im a man

  • @gerrarddalegend cut the major right off

  • It could have been designed a whole lot better.. It's a very small pump considering the work it has to do. It has narrow arteries and prone to disease...i.e you have to watch what you eat and exercise regulary otherwise it will probably clog up.

  • omg im fat, inactive, a smoker. and im a male, im chronically under lots of stress!

im under chronic stress of being fat and inactive!!

  • its funny when he tries not to laugh

  • Thank you Dr, Jeff.. All the information given were so clear and easily absorb by most listener. I am sure you have taken alot of your time to make this vidoe possible. I have been awaken by you and I think I am one of the possible candidate to have heart disease. I think it is high time for me to be serious and really understand how to maintain a healthy heart. I trully appreciate this video and May God Bless You.

  • Fondest Hellos, I realize your cardiac emphasis is more on atherosclerosis than on dysautonomia/EPS/Tilt Test, but we, the YT Community of people with dysautonomia would like to know what you can tell us about this disease. Please peruse my Favs also, to get global pulse on this illness.

    Highest Personal Regards,

    DrMargaretFerrante

  • great; im inspired (to avoid macdonalds that is!)

  • thanks a lot

  • "Atherosclerosis" is the scientific name for McDonald's.

  • That was a very informative video!

I am still quite young, however, and therefore INVINCIBLE!

*Fires two revolvers simultaneously into the air while dancing around*

  • i m hoping that in upcoming vidoes u can focus on some points which r important for medical students like me who r learning this topic in internal medicine

  • Dr. Brown I was able to watch 2 out of the 3 videos so far and I think that they are well done. The information was very well put together and in simple terms.

  • Yolly,

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Please forward it to anyone you think could benefit from it.

We're all more likely to deal with this condition than any other, so we must be informed about it.

  • So, if I'm male then I'm automatically prone to this disease??? YIKES ARE U SERIOUSE? I mean, I'm only 23 and I stay active. But sometimes when I get stressed I feel a smal bit of heart pain and I chew tobacco. Now on the upside I do strengthen my heart with regular frequent cardio exercise...

So will I have somethin to worry about when I get older?

  • The fact that you're so young certainly works to your advantage, and it sounds like you're pretty healthy. The most important things for you to do right now is: get regular exercise, quit chewing tobacco (the risk of heart disease and mouth cancer is high), watch your weight, manage the stress in your life, and generally live a healthy lifestyle.

  • This video is very essential to all people who care about their health. This is as good as it gets for recommendations on how to stay healthy.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you got something out of this video.

    Stay tuned for upcoming videos!

  • @JeffreyBrownMD and also in the slide keep it real u didnt mention about the alcohol intake as u mention age ,gender so..
