My dad was also part of a GREAT ice clown duo for Holiday on Ice in the late 60's and early 70's before i was born. His name was Jim McGlocklin and went by the name "Tex" and his partner was Lance. If anyone has any video or remembers them please let me know. I have never seen there act other then him recreating them for me when we used to skate every sunday growing up.
i remember seeing mr frick at gaslight village in upstate ny in the mid 70's. he was on a very small rink, and getting along in years, but was still as sharp and talented as ever. i remember also when frick and frack would to the comedy bits at the barrel jumping contests in the 60's.
New things come on YOUTUBE, all the time. We keep an eye out for them. We have no Mr. Frack yet either (Frick and Frack)...Anyone who can help, should post for us! We are influencing kids and skaters all over the world, who are not familiar with these great names from the past that were such a part of our lives. Best wishes
Tjbissett, My mom was a Dwyer girl too. also used to be one of Colin Beatty's "wives" . Maybe we've met ;-) Glad to see other Follies memories being shared!
I am sure it was quite an assemblege! Many people miss the ice shows a great deal. Such an exciting life for people of that era. The Belle Epoch, WWI, the Roaring 20's, WW2, the 50's the hippies, the growth of skating in the 1970's, the designer 80's and the grung 90's.....I wonder if there is an autobiography about him available??? Such stories he could tell!! thanks for sharing!! best wishes to you, your mother, and all the ice show crowd!!
I have the sad job to inform his fans here that Werner (Mr Frick) passed away ......April 14th , i think.....unexpectedly after a short hospital stay near his home in Switzerland... Right before his 93rd birthday.
What a lovely man. I will always remember him and his fabulous smile. Rest in Peace Mr. Frick
This is sad news, but thank you so much for reporting it. He is such a part of so many lives....and spending a lifetime bringing laughter to millions of people must have a great heavenly reward. I have a feeling he is giving Sonja Heine a whirl around the celestrial ice rink right now!!! best wishes
Yes, there are some Ice show greats that have been forgotten! but never Mr. Frick!! I think of him whenever I see that ankle catch in a dance team number!! I remember a really funny space age team in the early 70's, but can't even remember their names! Check out MY FAVORITES and look at the ICE CAPADES Anniversary review. best wishes
Thanks so much for posting this video, I can remember when he was 1/2 of the comedy team Frick and Frack. I have searched everywhere for anything on him, It is hard to come by. I could watch him for hours.
Où peut on trouver des images de Guy Lompré , et de tous les autres ?
