No antibiotics aren't used just in farms with poor management but used by nearly everyone who raises livestock.  The antibiotics aren't the feed supplement but placed in the feed supplement which ends up being a very very small amount. Less than a teaspoon for every ten pounds. Most of the supplement is made upl of protein and vitamins. Also its less than 2% of the population involved in production agriculture and even less in livestock production.

I don't know if they knew this or not but when denmark banned antibiotics in livestock many farmers went out of business and an increase in illnesses in livestock and humans.

yall city folk just dont understand that your meat cost will go up a shit ton when antibiotics are banned, antibodics in livestock are used only to keep the livestock alive when needed, and used as a feed supplement by farmers with poor management practices, 10 percent of the population causes 90 percent of the problems facing agriculture

If I send a load of hog to market it is tested for antibotics. If positive I can not sell for 30 days. Then I can only send 10 hogs after the 30 days. 14 days later I may sell 25 hogs. If any of these come back positive for antibotics. I can not sell for 6 months. That will put you out of Business.

Last week we had ABC throwing fits over docked tails on dairy cattle, now this week we have Katie Couric and CBS having a hissy fit over the use of antibiotics in meat animal production. Part of the goal is to create momentum, in order to pass H.R. 1549/S. 619, which would ban the routine use of antibiotics. Will the slander never cease? Don't you love it when people who have no clue about Ag. want to tell us how to fail.
