@EmHenn11 I didn't know low to average skilled people played chess - a strategic game where not even Hermione, the brightest witch, can beat him. He's always overlooked by his family/friends = insecure/not confident. The 4th book he thought Harry didn't tell him he was entering the tournament and felt left out; in the 6th he thought the girl he liked didn't like him back. And, if it wasn't for him - Harry wouldn't have got the philosopher's stone or found out about Sirius, amongst other things.

Also, if Hermione is so brilliant, why was she always eager to get away from her parents to see Ron when she saw him for the most part of a year? They are two very different people and that's why they filled up each other's rough edges. Both of them are brilliant.

Obviously, she's very happy to see him, but at the same she WANTS to be mad at him for having left them, yet at the same time WANTS to snog him senseless cos she loves him! And that's why Emma's acting seems so muddled in this scene :D Or may be, Emma just doesn't know how to act really angry at someone, I don't know...
