  • would you recommend playing blazblue with regular controller or fight stick?

  • @pianoCiD Honestly for me it doesn't matter...I play on pad mainly because in my opinion there is no huge advantage to playing on stick like there is with Street Fighter IV. In SFIV the game is a 6 button layout therefore you are somewhat sacrificing 2 attack buttons when you play on pad or at least make them harder to hit with them being on a shoulder button. With blazblue it's a 4 button layout, sure you have some advantages but its not leaps and bounds like when playing SFIV

  • Thanks man! Really helpful vid

  • same thing is happening to me on 360 anyway, i've gotten 11000 with damage input displayed on training and it doesn't give me anything

  • Nice tutorial dude keep it up ;)

  • Wow dude your editing is fuckin quality, I also appreciate how you don't try to be a comedian the whole time like other videos

  • Oi these achievements are so easy though :P

  • 10,345 if i follow yours and

13,145 if i continue atacking with Zatetsu (highest damage ive ever done)

neither 1 will register the trophy for me

using the ps3 (making me wish i had a 360 more and more)

  • @baksigferied Hmm, I don't think the console you're using really matters, all I can say is to make sure that it's a true combo (The Combo is a Lighter shade of Red, refer to 01:36) as the achievement won't pop up unless the opponent isn't able to break out of it....if you're having trouble differentiating if they can break out of the combo turn on aerial roll that should help as they will be able to escape the combo if there is an opening.

  • @xzenogear1984 no, it doesn't work in training for the ps3. I did it online with my friend..

  • @baksigferied dude, stick w/ ur ps3. its pointless to change. i have a ps3 since forever and I dont want to change it for no matter.

  • very well made tutorial. thank you for making one that's easy to follow and that can be appreciated by beginners and the more advanced alike.

  • How do you do those first 2 attacks with nu I just dont understand no matter how I try it wont work....

  • @slipknotpauli2 You start with the thumbstick in the down position and roll it forward then back to the down position then back to the forward position and press the attack button. If you've ever played Street Fighter think of it as doing a double hadouken. Another way might be to think if you rolled the thumbstick in an entire circle it would be a full circle or 360degrees, so a quarter of a circle is a 1/4 of the circle, so down to forward would be a quarter of the full circle

  • @xzenogear1984 236236 + D ?

  • @slipknotpauli2 Yeah that's right or if you want to think of it in a more fluid motion you could do 2363236+D

  • i got that last one with noel was just looking for the haukumen one man he is so hard to use for me hehe i suk

  • @KyoXlp i just did that 1 lol, heres what you do set SP1 to Square, Sp2 to X , Sp3 to L2, Aerial Role Neutral, Emergency roll, Enabled, Wake up, Neutral, and Infinity is Infinite(last tab) . then you l2 + hold Circle (full charge then) square, square, X,X, forward + triangle, L2

  • There's a taokaka achievment too: Katpult

Throw a little kaka with the movement of throwing during training or something else, just throw it

  • @skynord1995 Yeah but that's less a combo and more just doing one move until you throw a specific item...

  • thanks for the viddd (:

btw, your voice is kinda cute lawl.

  • @SERiFExo lol, glad it helped and thank you, you flatter me :)

  • hmmm, i do the 60hit combo one, got 63 hits and it doesn't trigger, also I did the tiger 20 combo one after the round finished and it still doesn't trigger, have any idea whats wrong because its driving me crazy,

  • @mcmmaster Hmm not really sure with the 20 hit combo at the end other than make sure you start the combo after you've won as a few hits could be from when they were still alive. As for the 60 hit combo just make sure your doing a true combo in that the combo counter isn't a darker shade of Red.

  • @mcmmaster my problem is that for me,its a 50 hit combo actually,not 60 :S

  • very informative and excellent video quality, well done.

  • dude ty so much =-D

  • Excellent guide ! I would be struggling without it. Ehh... just too bad all the trophies are bronze. Good vid anyway.

  • ta for adding video! :D

  • Rachel, Hakumen and Nu have the best themes in the game.

  • So hard to execute the combo without a fight stick controller...

  • @kosniper Did your copy not come with an arcade stick controller? Mine did.... I didn't even know either. I was like omg BlazBlue aracde stick? w00tage!

  • did it also work with nu-13 unlimited? ... because i dont got it xD and also play with the ps3 is there different i hope not...

  • @XeroVector You wouldn't want to use her even if you had her unlimited version, also the button configuration is pretty much the same as the 360

  • Sometimes when i do these combos in training it switches to record mode! wtf?

  • @AcidicDelusion Maybe your moving your thumbs to frantically and accidentally hitting the back button....?

  • @AcidicDelusion Happened to me 2, i disabled the record button

  • do you have your controls set to default cause my guys just move around when i put it in

  • @corruptedCANTDIE Yes I didn't really see a need to do a A,B,C,D layout because the game is only a 4 button setup, even the shoulder buttons are just shortcuts. Sorry if you find it confusing maybe this will help:

    A(X)= Light Punch

    B(Y)= Medium

    C(B)= Strong

    D(A)= Special

  • @xzenogear1984 k thanks

  • @corruptedCANTDIE You might be moving the wrong stick then. One of them moves the characters and the other one does the special attacks. Although I guess you've probably worked this out in 5 months..

  • i keep doing 9973 damge with haku-men!

  • saw you did a vid for marvel vs capcom. the vids you make are the best and save a lot of time over trying to figure it out with a word guide or by yourself.

  • I hate sickle storm it make Nu's 60 combo so freaking hard.

  • Is there an easier way of doing the special you used with nu?

  • You might be able to set her first special to a direction on the right thumbstick but I'm not really sure.

  • You just pulled her special off twice so easily. I can only do it once every now and then. I'll keep trying though.

  • Use the thumbstick and roll your thumb from the down position to forward then back down then forward again. just get used to the motion and you should be alright. some of these moves are really touchy so it gets some taking used to.

  • @xzenogear1984 Same thing with the other DDs. I think Nu's sword spam is right.

  • i did laetabilis cantata on my opponent after a match, i got the 20 hit combo on accient by doing that XD

  • i like useing arakune for the last achievement grab for kill and then special on thumb stick

  • I do the same exact Hakumen combo that you put in this video... down to a T, and I only do 1,022 max with it?

  • i got the 'It's the Only Way to Be Sure' achievement in a different way and completely on accident. i jus used Jin's ice arrow distortion drive on the enemy while he had 1 pixel life and i got the achievement =/

  • thanks, but you're voice is a bit muffled....makes you sound sick...

  • Yeah I hear that too...lol, it's either just my voice...late or i might have been sick

  • thanks took me a couple of tries with Hakumen but i finally got it

  • Hey can you add me on live my GT = BlackfoxDawn08 when i renew my gold account i would like to battle you

  • Thank You So Much

  • glad I could waste a few moments of your busy day..

  • Thanks for the video.

I really had no idea who to use for the 'It's the Only Way to Be Sure' trophy.

    Kudos!

  • vee-13? lol

  • lol, I'm aware her name is Nu but I figured it would confuse some people as her name is shown on the select screen as V-13-

  • It's actually the greek symbol for Nu not a V

  • Cool....regardless your more casual player I doubt would have figured that and I probably would have had a lot more comments asking who "Nu" was....lol

  • wtf i cant do her distortion >.> i do quarter a and it still wont work wtf

  • If you're having trouble doing a distortion, quit playing the game ._.

  • LMAO

  • it's 2 quarter circles then A

  • Comment removed

  • damn man. thank you so much for this awesome video!! i never noticed the dark red from the regular red, too. thanks, again!!

  • lol @ "It's The Only Way To Be Sure." I laughed so hard when I got that for busting out ice arrows with Jin.

  • yeah like people are saying, a lot of DD's have crazy amounts of hits (V-13, Bang, Noel, Arakune, Tager, etc.) so its easy to get that one. I'll try that hakumen one, thanks for the tip.

  • thank you man i dont know about it going from light red or dark red for combos

  • When i try the dash with hakumen he either doesnt make it to tager in time or dash punches him which makes tager to high to do the double slash

  • the dash takes a bit of timing to get right. If you do it too early you dash under him. if you do it to late he can break out and it doesn't count. I suggest trying to find the right timing and as soon as your dash in makes contact you start your double slash so that the first of the two slashes actually hits him in the air. Also try and have a bit of distance so when you dash in your not under him but a bit in front of him. if you dash to far in when you slash he'll fall over your head.

  • i didn't use the dash and still got it. What you do is just instead of the dash, use the double slash (up on right stick) then to the kick, stomp and then the shockwave again.

  • i got 250 combo in training mode but nothing

  • it needs to be a true combo (where the combo meter is a brighter red color)

  • k, thx , but now i have the problem of not being able to pull of the combo , XD

  • Guys, The Only Way To Be Sure is easy to get with Bang. Get them very low health, and do his umbrella super.

You should do more than 20 hits for it.

  • i found it easier to get the 20 hit overkill with arakune over tager. just finish off the opponent with arakune's normal throw and hit left on the hotkey stick to deal the blows.

also just as a suggestion to the poster of this video, if you make future videos, could you use the standard A B C D button names when explaining the combos for those of us with the PS3 version or use arcade sticks? not everyone uses the 360 pad when playing this game, but great video overall.

  • Yeah Arkune's a great person to get this with as well. As for the A,B,C,D layout the main reason I did it that way was because this is a 4 button game and I felt it easier to just explain by using the button setup. If this were a 6 button layout I would have used the method you suggest. With a 4 button layout if you leave your layout to default it should help everyone PS3 and X360 alike. I appreciate the input though....thanx

  • I'd like to say this. I tried this getting this achievement for over an hour, and got very angry when I was doing the exact same thing as you and it didn't work. When I read some comments here about the aerial roll, I put it on. And the combo stayed bright red. Even though I was doing the same thing. So if you've got the combo down and it's still not working try enabling Aerial Roll on the Training Dummy "Backwards"

  • I got the activate termination protocol achievement and the it's the only way to be sure achievement (with Noel) But Im having some trouble with the it's over 10,000 achievement. Are you sure you put in all the correct inputs? It says i only did 7066 damage.

  • You said something in the video about the combo counter being different shades of red. Is there something specific you have to do to keep it bright red? Also is there another way to do the Nu achievement? The quarter forward circle doesn't seem to work on my controller, or my fingers are too big.

  • In the setting menu there is an option to turn aerial roll on for the CPU you can try turning this on and it might give you an example of a true combo or not. Basically to keep your counter bright red you can't let there be more than about a half second in between each move...give or take....if you for example do one move and take to long to do the next the enemy can escape your combo in which it wont count as a true combo.

  • If you turn on aerial roll the enemy will recover from an attack if they are able to so it can give you a beter idea of where you may need to speed up your combo so they dont need to break out. I've heard some say it doesn't work all the time which is why i didn't turn it on in my tutorial....but it might help you get a better understanding of where you need to improve in your combo.

  • as for Nu's QCF combo you might be able to set it to the right stick but im not 100% sure. i would try that otherwise just keep at it, remeber not to go straight from down to forward you roll it from down to forward so think of a compass you would start at south then go to southeast than east...

  • ...Uh I get over 10000 and it's a bright red but it still doesn't give me the achievement....

  • Another way to do this is after you do the dash in (QCF + X) do the stomp (forward + Y) then just continue the combo....some find it easier so find it harder. So instead of Charge sword slash . dash in > double slash > double kick > stomp > sword slash,,,,,you would go:

Charged sword slash > dash in > stomp > double slash > double kick > sword slash

  • i was having trouble w/ hakumen but then i saw at 2:47 it says hold B (which he never says anything about) i tried it and hakumen charges the attack longer and does more damage, which got me the achievement!

  • lol, sorry about that, I tend to do the video first then do the voice-over so I sometimes only have a certain amount of time to say what i need so i don't always say every movement which is why i put up the controller at the bottom.

  • Thanks man, this video helped me get the 60 hit combo pretty easily.

  • I bought this game for $60... what a waste...

  • Termination Protocol and 10,000 are fucking impossible, I've tried about 20 times each but the way you describe it is just impossible

  • Start from the down position then roll the thumstick forward then back down then back forward + A (or D if you want to use the games terms) do this twice and while the second one is still going move in so right before it ends you do the rest of the combo [ Forward + B(or C) Down.Back + B (or C) then Up + B (or C)....The onlything i would say to keep in mind is when doing the down/back + B move not to let the move follow through all the way let it hit only a few times before going in the up + B

  • As for the 10,000 hit it's mostly used with the right stick the only parts you need to actually use anything else is after you do your charged sword slice you do QFC + X (or A in the games terms) QCF if you didnt know is a quarter circle forward which means you start by pressing down then rolling the D-pad or Joystick to the forward position, which of the joystick was a circle would be a quarter circle move. the only other part is the stomp [forward + Y(or B in the games terms),

  • Thanks a bunch dude 5/5

  • dude all your vids have helped me alot, its same achievements n the ps3 same shit...

  • amazing job

  • I got the "Its the only way to be sure" achievement the 1st day I got the game...What can I say, once I found out this game had "OVERKILLS" after the match-I exploited them!! I did mine with Arakune's midair distortion drive-while they're getting ate up by my minions, I'm tapping "A" attack like crazy!!

  • geez, manmon77, what a douche. you realize you're not the only one on this planet, right? anyway, great post xzeno. very helpful.

  • I apologize that I think it would be a lot easier to understand for everyone if he had used the standard "A, B, C, D" way of describing each combo. I just wanted to give the guy that made this video some constructive criticism on how to make future videos more universally understandable.

  • theres really no reason to apologize...I understand why you felt it would have been more helpful but I also feel that it's easier to explain to people with button presses rather than the games definition of what a button is called. I feel its a bit more confusing doing that way because a lot of people just jump into games head first and when you throw A,B,C's and d's at them they tend to get confused. I had a few people on my street fighter video ask what certain attack buttons were when i used

  • the term weak punch. I think it's a lot easier to explain it to people by just telling them the button presses..also Blazblue has a 4 button layout with the triggers pretty much being shortcuts so i felt it easier to just leave the button config the way it was...if this were a game with a 6 button layout (light/medium/hard kick and punch buttons) i would probably have opted to go the way you suggested.....I appreciate the criticism but i just felt that it worked better for this particular game.

  • Everytime I try the Hakumen one he flys over my head.

  • Next time you do a video like this PLEASE don't speak in terms of the default controls. I personally do not use the default controls and it makes it very difficult to translate what you mean to my controls, I'm sure others feel the same way.

  • Not really, that's why the video is there.

  • Comment removed

  • both character should be the top near the timer V-13 to the left of the timer and Hakumen to the right and Iron Tager right underneath V-13

  • Who gave me a -2 rating in my post?

I'm just a beginner to this hard game.

  • thx with the dark red and brighter red... i waz wonderin y i wasnt getting it with a 300 hit combo i did lol

  • I got the 20+ hit combo after the match with Nu/V-13. :)

  • Btw, an easy achievement to get is 'Beautiful Arakune', all you have to do is go to Versus, pick Arakune and whoever else for 2nd player, leave the 2nd controller alone and use Arakune to beat the 2nd player both matches with a perfect on each!

  • I got a 62 combo with v-13 and didn't get the achievement :(.

  • MAke sure it's a true combo......If your having a hard time deciphering the difference go into the training options and set the dummy to Aerial roll...What this will do is if there is any point in the combo in which the training dummy can break out of your combo it will do an aerial roll (they flash white and recovers from a knocked back state)

  • Okay thanks. I'll be sure to do that.

  • So I'm guessing a 100 combo consisting of just throws doesn't work?

  • I think the either Tager's or Arakune's distortion finish is the easiest way to get the 20+ combo finish.... for Arakune, just grab him to finish him off and then just hit left on the analog stick to get 40+ combo....

  • I just have to say thanks, this helps alot!!

  • your welcome, I try and be as in depth as possible as the videos i've seen tend to just show you the combo and hope you can copy...or they give you a convoluted text version of what to do.

  • and i did the v achievement 3 times but no achievement =[

  • yeah the 60+ hit took me a while mainly because I kept taking to long with some hits and it gave them the ability to break out of the combo thus it becoming not a true combo

  • yeahhh im doing it but yourr hakumen is glowing why?

  • I'm not sure really I dont think I picked unlimited Haku-men, It's probably because the infinity option is set to infinite. make sure your charging the sword slash at the begining of the combo but not the one at the end, make sure it's Iron-Tager as your opponent, and also just like the v-13 combo make sure your combo is a bright red or it tends not to chain the damage together;

  • You're a bro.

  • I'm following these instructions to a tee (red combos, correct modes of play, etc.) and no achievements are popping, any ideas? I got all of the other player specific achievements in vs. mode.....

  • are you using Tager as your opponent?

  • man im doin the hakumen combo and it wont get me passed 8640 dmg.... wat am i doin wrong? An im doin it wit the right stick method

  • Make sure your doing the forward and Y footstomp thats the one i was missing at first....also like i said in the aerlier part of the video make sure your combos are true combos or i dont think the damage wil add up. If the combo number is dark it's not a true combo. just try and link them as fast as you can.

  • yea bro i ended up doin it afterwards...the 1st distortion u do b4 u do the rest of the combo has to be entered manually and u MUST delay it...then after that u can continue with the right stick moves... thanks for the vid man

  • omg sikwid, thanks for dropping it in that you have to do the first one manually. huge help, been stuck for about an hour on that one. thanks again.

  • dam, nice man, this really helped. i have a ps3, and still with that xbox 360 controller it still gave me the idea and helped. thanks.

  • no prob

  • Nice video

  • cool
