unfortunately you fail to realize that all of the oil we're burning now took the earth millions of years to sequester in the first place and it didn't have to compete with cities for prime growing area either. The only thing in favor for us in that respect is that we have irrigation systems that can help grow plants in areas where plants wouldn't normally thrive as well. Unfortunately if we change the climate too abruptly it can result in plant species dieing out as well.

Well, for one thing, yes.
Humans are the main problem with any death of a species, for the most part.. simply because our actions affect the weather, the habitats size and healthiness, etc.
But, animals have been getting wiped out because of nature for years upon years, even before humans were evolved into what we are, or were even thought of.. so, yeah, mother nature has it's roll to play in this as well.

All species have a purpose in life. If tigers disappear, whatever it is they prey on will grow out of proportion and will disrupt a bunch of different life cycles. It's all a big chain reaction and we're all affected at one point or another.

I think it probably mostly is us, i agree the earths climate does change over time we might even go into another ice age in the far future or possibly we might have another burst of lots of oxygen who knows however we are the manipulators at the moment and we are the main causes. in any event battling greenhouse gas emissions is a hopeless and useless effort. It is nothing more than the new economic fad - emission rights are already being traded for high profits. Well done! A thing that CAN be battled and WILL have a direct effect is deforestation. Reforestation attempts in some areas have already proven to be fruitful, providing new fertile grounds aswell as habitat for wildlife etc. That's what I put my money on.

unfortunately you fail to realize that all of the oil we're burning now took the earth millions of years to sequester in the first place and it didn't have to compete with cities for prime growing area either. The only thing in favor for us in that respect is that we have irrigation systems that can help grow plants in areas where plants wouldn't normally thrive as well. Unfortunately if we change the climate too abruptly it can result in plant species dieing out as well.

There are many observations that indicate that the rising CO2 emissions is the cause of the trend in rising temperatures in recent decades.
As far as "fucking up the planet" the warming is causing abnormal weather patterns, melting of ice masses, rise in sea levels, increased rates of drought and many other issues so it really all depends on what you consider "fucking up the planet" is.

1) Like Russia and other northern latitude countries experiencing less winter and warmer winters.
2) GHGs retain heat in the atmosphere (this is why it's not many degrees below zero when it's night time) more GHGs retain more heat and more heat energy melts ice
3) It's relevant as to where the most warming is happening because it's warming the most where there is little water vapor rather than the equator (if you thought it was the sun this shouldn't be the case)

You are correct that the extinction of *most* dinosaur lineages allowed the mammals to come into dominance.
Two points though. Evolutionary change still went on while the dinosaurs dominated, and mammals are as old as the dinosaurs.
Birds are dinosaurs, just as humans are primates.
Also, all species alive then are extinct now. The crocodiles alive then were not the same species that live today. Same for sharks and the rest.

Global warming/cooling are both normal cycles which are due mostly to sun spot activity.
The same changes can be seen on Mars with it's polar ice and there's no SUV's there.

The main reason companies don't go green is because it often isn't cost effective. Capitalism is a wasteful system driven by ruthless people. Many things are designed to break easily, many others to be thrown away. This is because the capitalist method is to increase profit every year, no matter what. They use cheaper (sometimes dangerous) parts and materials and charge more every year. They produce and and pollute more every year. And the government says I can't leave my TV and DVD on standby?!

the natural warming & cooling cycles... and its not only our sun & the drifting of our moon that causes changes but the earth's axis is always changing as well... a few degrees difference makes a huge difference in the amount of sunlight we receive...

These "natural warming and cooling cycles" you speak of are caused by the sun's activity, not man. They do not and never have happened over equal periods of time, they vary constantly.
The movement of the earth's axis is called precession of the equinoxes. It was most probably happening before man ever existed, it is definitely not caused by man!
I can tell you one thing that can fuck the world's atmosphere and climate right up, and it's man-made....

gas + planetary atmosphere = heat retention. its a physical fact like gravity and it is by no means out of the realm of possibility that human beings are capable of adding significant amounts of extraneous shit into the air.

Okay, your point is that you think that the sun is responsible for all and any warming we are currently experiencing.
There are many, many things wrong with this assumption based on what we observe, like where it's warming, but if you think the ONLY driver in climate is the sun then there is no reason that we should be any warmer than the 70's since we actually have a lower TSI in recent years than any year in the 70's.

2) If you actually read the e-mails in the context of the papers they're referring to and realize that quote mining is a logical fallacy you'll know that it doesn't.

It is still hottest at the equator. HAARP may be heating northern latitudes. It is designed specially to modify the ionosphere and it can directly affect the weather. I don't lack understanding just because I choose not to believe all the manipulated information that is released to the general public. Like I said before, step back and look at the whole picture.
