And yes Afghanistan is all about oil, the whole push in the middle east is. When Karzai (sp?) got "elected" the first thing he did was sign a treaty to allow a pipeline that the taliban wouldn't.
The other thing to watch is the caucasus mountains region "Powder-Keg". Rumor has it that their is another pipeline in the works- on paper at least. If this is true, it's VERY dangerous. it would effect Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and the neighboring area and could potentially lead to a third world war.
