This had to to be a sweet victory for Kristy Kowal for not making the Olympics in 1996.

However, Kristy Kowal did not make the team, where she was World Champion for this event in 2000. She did make the team, and I was in the crowd in Indianapolis, Indiana when she did make the team and broke the American Record. Rebecca Soni is the new American Record Holder in the 100m and 200m, but Kowal had a lot of heart in this race.
