@sweetwangsta94 nah man the v10's revved to 20'000 rpm .. the scream was louder and to a higher pitch . in 2004 they were over 900 horsepower before they cut its balls off
06 was with v8's. and every year the teams develope the cars so much that last years model is useless. therefor the cars will soon be faster than the 05 v10's, but if they had kept the v10's, they would have been even faster. and then there's the difference in sound!! V10's back in F1!!! :)
There was talk about using diesel engines in the future (like the Audi's did for Le Mans) but the teams said it would cost too much in development. Also, reducing speed wasn't the FIA's only reason to bring in V8's...it was also to reduce costs!
V10 scream used to be awesome, I will miss it. The V8 is still very loud and amazing, but not quite the same. In 2011 if we go to Silly 1.3 litre straight 4s I am going to wear a black armband!
i dun think it will matter either... teams would just look for new ways to get the max out of the engines... unfortunately.. wat matters is the FIA requiring teams to use the same engines for years
Whoever said engine size doesn't matter is wrong, the torque produced on the V10's was more, simply because it was a bigger engine, this made them faster on the track and the engine could rev more slowly compared to the 2.4 V8 whilst still doing similar lap times with reduced engine wear and hence higher reliability.
The FIA reduces engines to 2.4L simply to slow it down, no other reason, sack to FIA, Bernie go F**K yourself.
The cars aren't slower in any way, Raikkonen managed at lap of 1:25.2 at Melbourne, thats far faster than 06 and 05 and is close to the track record on raceday. So much for FIA trying to slow F1 down.
The '06 V8-powered cars had less straight-line-speed but they were much faster in the corners. Thus depending on the track's layout, they sometimes were even faster than the 2005 cars. To give you an example:
Of course this is due to the track's general slow character and many corners, but it just shows you that you can't compare cars in games. That's nonsense.
hey can they havethe same power the old v10 wa pushing out 900 bhp the new is around 750. please the whole point they went to v8,s was to slow the car down. duh
yeah its the old hungary with the original turn 1

in the future, F1 cars will be hybrid-cars and run on biodiesel :( cause it's better for the enviroment .. :s :D lol

Not even that, it's just new technology. Look at KERS, it's innovative....albeit expensive. And might not even work.

The V8's plus a few other little aero rule changes, made the 06 cars up to five seconds slow than the 05 cars.
