Hi I have been doing Parelli for sometime with my horse but am not yet a member of the savvy club. I was just wanting to ask if you could tell me the level 1 audition criteria so I can have her prepared for an assessment for when I do join, hopefully in summer finances permitting! Hope you reply, many thanks.
@jclarkson1216 Hello! The Level 1 assessment requirements are only for OnLine, they don't have any for riding or Freestyle. The requirements for OnLine are kinda long so this may take up more than one comment! :) Friendly Game: 1. Rub horse all over with Carrot Stick (hind legs optional). 2. Toss rope/Carrot Stick and String over neck and back 6 times, horse relaxed (no tension) and standing still. 3. Massage front legs. 4. Haltering with Savvy. Porcupine Game: Continued on next post
@jclarkosn1216 1. Move forehand and hindquarters full circle. 2. Back up from nose (Zone 1) and chest (Zone 2). 3. Lower head. Driving Game: 1. Point A to Point B, 12- foot Line, Zone 2. 2. Draw towards you, flowing hands on rope. 3. Backwards from chest. YoYo Game: 1. Back and forwards through gate. 2. Walk, back up (keep horse out of personal space, teach to stop and yield). Circling Game: NOT REQUIRED Sideways Game: 1. Slow with a fence, both Ways Squeeze Game: Continued on next post
That was copied from Parelli's chart for OnLine Level 1, by the way, you don't HAVE to do anything for official assessment, what they want to see more is how your relationship is with your horse. So have fun and use your imagination!! :)
Parelli would probably have more details if you e-mailed them.
@jimmil47 Many thanks for replying! I started playing about 7 years ago when they had very formal criteria, its great to know they are more interested in the relationship now rather than specifics. I am very much looking forward to becoming a member again and doing our assessments, this has given me the confidence to just do it!!!
I have a question. . . . . It says " Online Parelli Audition '' What are these and where do you get them? Get job with your horse by the way. ♥ Please get back to me I am to doing Parelli. . . . . ~Bye~
An Audition is a way to get a official certificate for the level that you are auditioning for if you pass it. It costs $50 per audition and you can pay them on their website.
There is a better description on the Savvy Club website if you are a member.
I was just starting to play with her and therefore did not have a lot of experience.
I don't know if you have ever owned a horse or not, but if you have, I'm sure that everything did not go perfectly; especially when you were just beginning.
