  • that car has beaten a Ferrari, just look up the video u shit face.

  • Hydrogen fuel is a fraud. The fuel cell car costs $1,000,000 and costs will never go down, plus the range is 100 miles and does poorly in cold weather. Its just a way for the oil companies to spend government funding and keep us on gasoline for 100 more years.

  • You are so right.. Hydrogen fuel cell is a LIE.

Go read something about it.. and find out yourself.

    Hydrogen has this:

Electricity -> Hydrogen -> Fuel cell -> Electricity -> motor.

See how many LOSSES. why not.. Electricity -> battery -> motor ???

I still can't believe there are people who believe in hydrogen. I believe hydrogen is a game. A game we all lose because of blindness....

  • By the time the batteries wear out, they would be a LOT cheaper to replace.

Already the ones they are using are "last generation tech".

    _

AltairNano and A123 Systems now offer NanoLithium batteries which can recharge in under 10 minutes, and can operate from -50°F to +175°F

Something like over 2 million miles or 40 years worth of battery life.

  • you can sell the batteries when they're flat.

  • Ever notice how Bush and company keep hawking Hydro-b.s. and other expensive to produce "alternative fuels" instead of this? That alone speaks volumes.

Since they can't buy up the battery patents this time I wonder what they'll do to crush it? Probably something within the government safety approval area I'd guess.

  • Damn.. and people out of USA cant even buy it yet... SHAME.. Pleasee japan.. make such sportscar too.. Come to europe.. we have a french electric car, but that one isnt as nice and cheap as this one!

    i mean come'on 100 000 U.S. dollar = 73 443 Euro's An average Mercedes or Audi costs that much...

Freaking get that thing to europe we will buy them all!! ( i hope ).

  • That's the exact same thing I was thinking! Tons of people drive BMW M6's, $99,100 (and quite a bit slower) or I see a lot of Mercedes SL550s $97,500 (again still slower) and of course the Audi S8, $92,000, 100K for a carrera GT speed car that gets 135mpg is actually a bargain!

  • Shut the fuck up and drive the car.

  • "Combustion engines are soooo last century."

  • ferari and porshe are shit.

    this is a CAR

  • I wouldn't say shit. They are just obsolete, last century technology. Last week I was looking at an Aston Martin Vanquish, and I was drooling until... I realized it was just another charriot moved by oscilating masses pushed by exploding chemicals in alternating fashion. It felt soooo last century it took the pleasure out of looking at the car. Thanks Tesla, you ruined my passion for cars.

  • Are you damn stupid???.. that's not a supercar.. i want to see if it can beat a ferrari

  • Don't forget how fast the battery tech is evolving! By the time you need a replacement battery, they will probably last longer and deliver greater range. They might even be less expensive in 3-5 years (when the battery needs to be replaced).

  • Actually it's 500 charges until it begins to not carry as much charge. If you can afford a $100,000 sports car then you can most likely afford $20,000 once every two years. The reason the replacement batteries are so expensive is because they are not mass produced yet. If every person in the US drove one the battery packs might be 1/10 that cost.

  • Yeah vegaspimp is a fuckin scam. Go and put your head in your carhood and shut up if you please

  • wow good for 500 charges and dishcharges and batteries cost 20,000 for replacement.

  • vegaspimp you have posted that same comment on every video of the tesla

you work for the oil companies

  • ...Which is still cheaper than gas!

  • That's 500 full charges at 250 miles/charge = 125,000 miles. Most people's cars don't last that long.

  • Actually, that's a worst case. Full charges-discharges kill batteries very quickly. FOr an average user doing 100 miles a day and charging during the night, it should last about ten times as much. That's about twenty years of normal use. And by the time you have to replace the batgteries, they should cost about 10% less on each year that passed, so in ten years they would cost a tiny fraction of the 20K of today.

  • that's not exactly right but that's ok. It's still a great car, but under good conditions from what I read you can expect 5 years of battery life. Right now it's about 30,000 to replace them. You're right though they will get cheaper.

  • Tesla's claim is the equivilent of 125,000 miles then the efficiency just drops gradually (batteries don't stay charged as long.)If you drove 250 miles a day, you'd see a little more than two years optimal use. but who does that, really?

  • You have to factor in the replacement costs for the batteries. Then subtract what you would spend on gas, oil changes, filters (air/fuel) emissions equipment (o2 sensors) full inspection fees (most places offer a discount because you don't need a "sniffer"check for the car. But the amount spent in gas is easily more that the costs of batteries. I love that car too ^_^
