  • My sons were better men!

  • 2:30

I wish Williams would have extended that melody. So much win.

  • Before this war is over I am going to kill you......

  • Love this song. Gives me chill towards the end. When I saw this in theaters for the first time I really thought Martin was going to die.

  • USA=FIRST TERRORIST NATION in the WORLD.

  • @xvghinuvlo theres a difference between fighting for freedom and murdering for freedom. if your gonna compare us to jihadists get your facts straight

  • @xvghinuvlo Hey douche bag if our founding fathers hadn't committed treason then your right to say that would not exist.

  • i can't be the only one who thinks this but in a lot of parts this sounds very similar to duel of the fates for star wars.

  • @IanTheCameraGuy it totally does, and the beginning sounds like a part in jurassic park at the end when they're running from the raptors. guess its inevitable.

  • 2:22 sounds exactly like the beginning of the main theme Williams composed for "Born on the Fourth of July". It's exactly the same chordal!

  • 2:20 when Mel Gibson screams in agony when he is struck, and the music came on @ 2:20 i thought it was Braveheart ALL OVER AGAIN.....amazing movies mel makes...

  • theres a bit at 2:41 where it goes down then up in a lovely way, then it goes into the dramatic music bit, and its like williams cant figure out which way he wants to go with it. Overall though, beautiful music.

  • @TheRandyChimp i think you're overthinking it... have u seen this scene in the movie?

  • @cje8 yes, the bit I'm talking about is when he's on his knees and he sees the yanks advancing. Should have stayed in a major tone, to signify the fact that they accomplished their goal.

  • @TheRandyChimp I think the scene you're referencing is one of the most amazing weaves of soundtrack, action and character emotion I've ever seen. The interplay between the major and minor modes is so beautiful in that it captures the complexity of emotion that must be welling up in Martin. On the one hand he sees his troops advancing, yet he's also given Tavington the upper hand - victory and abject despair at once. I think Williams knew exactly what he was doing and he absolutely owned it!!

  • @ibm88 I said it was LIKE williams didn't know what he was doing. It added a nice atmosphere to the scene.

  • @ibm88 I think Williams always knows exactly what he is doing!

  • this sounds like star wars

  • @MegaCrazydutchman The same composer that did this movie's soundtrack did the Star Wars soundtrack as well.

  • "your right, my sons are better men then me"

  • i like the start of the dramatic music at 2:22-2:55

  • I think of STAR WARS when i here the intense part of the music.

  • The Ghost vs the Butcher....

  • This movie is underrated in my opinion.

  • @caydubb very very underrated, its such a powerful movie.

  • @krackenzap agree!

  • @caydubb Yes. I believe that this movie surpasses most of the top latest films.

  • @Flumbiguous After watching the film, what do you think of the British and how they acted during the war? Because this is a really poor portrayal of British officers and warfare.

Don't get me wrong, I can watch the movie and enjoy it, it just bugs me that they're all either idiots or psychos.

  • @TheRandyChimp My view of the British hasn't changed at all. In my opinion, the British were simply trying to hold on to a territory that was rightfully theirs. At the same time, I understand why the American Revolution was necessary.

Now how they acted is no different than in any other war. War is war, and every nation commits crimes.

  • @Flumbiguous good man, Im glad of this, I know British people that have seen this who now think we were tyranical assholes. It was a war, we didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I understand why the colonists fought for revolution, but in the same way, the British had put a lot of them there, so I think that's why we felt we needed to quell a rebellion.

  • @caydubb very under-rated my friend.

  • 2:04 that trumpet part is beastly. thats what ive been looking for. thanks for posting.

  • Love the build up from 0:05-0:24. And 1:32-2:00 almost sounds like I'm listening to "The Lost World." LOL! No complaints, though. Great score for a great movie.

  • Great soundtrack, great movie, great composer

  • nah dude 2:05 till the end is when i get chills

  • Awesome piece for a final battle.
