Kathleen Turner was one of the greatest actresses of the 80's. She was awesome in the 90's. Romancing The Stone and The Jewel of the Nile are my favorite films but I love many Turner's films: Serial Mom, Crimes of Passion, The War of the Roses, V.I. Warshawski, Undercover Blues, House of Cards, Prizzi's Honor ...

I hope Kathleen will come back with new interesting films and roles.

She has a illness which she takes steroid injections for I read, that explains her change in apperance. I hate that is has affected her in such a way.

Still she is awesome, and still a great character.

Yes, she has sever rheumatoid arthritis. The change in her appearance is largely due to a drug called prednisone. It is a cortio / steroid and causes widening of the face among other things. She is to be admired for her spirit. It has made her look older than her years but she returned to the screen anyway. Great gutsy gal. Those who are mocking should sympathise instead and hope they don't come down with a dreadful disease like this.

Well, I'm sorry U can't understand. It's a pretty simple statement. The spirit I refer to is that which she shows to get through the treatment & deal with the disease AND resume an acting career. Her acting career was largely that of a screen siren but she had no trouble resuming work as a character actress. If U don't think that shows spirit U're entitled I guess. I suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis & I can tell U that it takes a fair bit of spirit to deal with the disease alone.

@gcmc2 I was shocked by the change in her appearance when I saw this recent video on Kathleen Turner. When I found out that she has rheumatoid arthritis and is taking prednisone, I realized why. A friend's daughter also has an autoimmune disease and took prednisone when she was only 13. It changed her appearance also. There is so much more research that needs to be done! @Coupal1 Yes, indeed it needs much more research. It is a particularly insidious, hideous disease. It is still a complete mystery to medicine. It occurs when the immune system, which of course normally fights infection to ward off illness, suddenly decides that Ur joint lining material is the enemy ! It then starts dispatching millions of antibodies to destroy the joints. It is actually one of the many illnesses that are likely to see great advances if stem cell research proceeds.
