  • imo, the vocals remind me more of Chuck Schuldiner

  • @Khalis33 Josh and the rest of Sylosis are actually VERY influenced by Death so thats not surprising lol

  • As much as I love sylosis. Conclusion of an age is one of my favourite albums and I loved Supreme Oppressor but I miss the old lead vocalist. I could hear him loud and clear, when i play this album in my car, you cant really hear what he is singing. I do prefer the the EP and first album to this album too.

  • @Danblukk Which EP? LOL They had two of them before COAA

  • @Zyborggian Supreme Oppressor.

  • i am dissapointed that i bought this album from hmv for £8.00 and the Conclusion Of An Age for £15.00. both should of been atleast around £10-£15 atleast :(

  • This is hands down one of the best metal album openers since Battery or Holy Wars.

  • Sooo..I'd like to point out that in studio you wouldn't track vocals while tracking guitar. He definitely did the two separately (unless someone is retarded) so the argument that he is playing and singing is completely invalid. That being said, still an amazing band and great vocals. But I do miss the old vocalist. But it's very rare that people don't miss original lineups. It's just gonna happen.

  • @xlamoremortelx He does it live though, so the argument is valid

  • I saw these guys play at Sonisphere, I wasn't expecting much but they are insane. The guys highs are incredible.

  • Sylosis should be in the list of "New Thrash Metal Bands"

  • vocal is different but not bad this vocal. lack scream

  • obviously the best album of 2011, in the top 10 of the decade as well

  • Any denver fans? We are Suns of Sorath, playing with sylosis november 23 at the summit.

  • the drums at 3:55 <3

  • @masonisscooping you fucking know!

  • he doubles his vocals in a strange way. sounds hella cool

  • goddamn, the vocalist sounds like chuck billy, awesomeness..

  • Fuck, I can't get past those vocals. Aside from a few highs, they don't sound like growls. They sound like yelling with a sore throat or something. Instrumental is awesome, though. \m/

  • @SycamoreHill14 he is doing fry screaming its not the typical growl u hear in death metal which uses false chords...look up fry screaming u will see what im talking about

  • @Lekiwi33 it's not a fry scream, it's way too full, sounds like my false cord vocals to me

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot nah man im 100% sure those are fry there is no way those are false chord trust me ive spent a lot of time analyzing the ltitle differences between the diffs screams and this is def a fry....learn fry properly and u can sound like this...also the reason i know its fry for sure is because some of his screams have a pitch to it whereas there is no way to pitch falsechord...check out before the dawn they also do very similar growls which are fry also...learn fry if u like it

  • @Lekiwi33 My false cord sounds very similar to this, my fry nothing like it. And I can pitch my false cord stuff too...

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot i talked with josh after their shows in both brutal assault and summer breeze festivals....and i asked him about a lot of things including his growl...he specifically said he uses fry...i dont know whats to argue about here....btw pitching a scream means u can get a NOTE from it....go growl ur false chord into a tuner or a mic and try to get a note from it...u cant

  • When I play with them next year I'll ask him and if they use fry then it's my bad. But I do fry vocals and I've never had a good sounding vocal like this

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot aite np...but while u can check out the bands i posted....i specified which bands use which kind of growling...what you mean u play with em next year?

  • @Lekiwi33 I mean my band might be playing as an opening act with them next year. I'll ask him then, but I've been asking other vocalists and they think this is false cord too. I'll show you my fry versus my false cord in a video if you like, when I'm tracking for demos, I'll do a little one for you

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot aite man thatd be cool, whats the name of your band? you got a myspace?

  • @Lekiwi33 Got a couple of REALLY bad demos on my youtube profile, got another one coming soon

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot is you are still in disbelief then listen to the following bands...fry: before the dawn, amorphis (new vocalist), dark tranquility, in flames, (metalcore shit), chimaira, daath, scar symmetry, decapitated, in mourning, ,lamb of god, devildriver, malefice

false chord: any old school death metal, insomnium, be'lakor, amon amarth, arch enemy, whitechapel, draconian, amorphis (first few albums black metal and death), bloodbath, swallow the sun...

    hopefully u get it......

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot I would like to learn this type of vocals, especially screaming in pitch. Can you give me some advice how to start or maybe recommend some video lessons on Youtube? Please.

  • @13guitard00d Most of the video lessons on youtube are a good place to start. As for the screaming in pitch, just pick a note and sing that, then apply the screaming technique to it I guess

  • @FtaCapoeiraWoot Thank you very much!!!

  • i love to listen Sylosis while having a skate session

  • Sylosis is my drug of choice.

  • revocation is better

  • i don't think it's possible to have an opener for an album better than this . . .

  • those two dislikes can go and give themselves a shot to the head.

  • This album is fucking awesome. Conclusion was also killer, but this tops it.

  • Got to say that the debut album is head and shoulders above the follow up. Conclusion of an Age is totally visceral, multi-dynamic, clever and tight and vocally on point. I don't think Josh is raw enough vocally, almost forced. Still, looking forward to seeing em play stuff from Conclusion in Glasgow.

  • @mwill96 1) his first time doing vocals. 2) he kills its. 3) suits the music so much better, makes it SO much more visceral, when I listen back to COAA its so much 'lighter' and 'happier' in feel. This album on the whole is so much darker and in minor key. and most importantly 4) what are you on about COAA is more multi-dynamic clever and tight?! There is so much more on EOTE, SO many more intricacies - leaps and bounds more, and as for not as tight I really don't know where you're coming from.

  • @mwill96 ok i jus put on a couple of tracks and i think i know what you're trying to say about the 'tight' element. Thats totally down to production, the first album is heavily clinical and triggered in sound. The drums are 80% triggered and 20% acoustic, and the tone heavily compressed. with EOTE, the sound is alot more raw, 50-50% triggers, raw tones. etc. However that doesn't mean that they are by any way not tight as a band.

  • The voice is awesome ! All like Josh, he is really a god

  • Josh's vocals are just absolutely exceptional. His growls and highs are brilliant, but his pitched screams just take their sound to a whole new level. 4:52-5:22 :D

  • easily best song on album

  • this guy is really good at lows, but they're last vocalist had some of the best highs i've heard

  • @Horizonz2 I hated Jamie's highs

  • @Horizonz2 exactly

    To sum it all up....

Jamie: Great high-end screams & clean singing

Josh: Great low-end growls & scream-singing (Like gojira uses)

  • @Horizonz2 If you listen to the rest of the album Josh does some sick highs dude :P

  • Unlike scar symmetry they didn't degrade after a change of vocals that's great, that album is going to be in my collection for sure.

  • lol since it seems to be a popular topic, i love these vocals actually. they're a lot better. such an awesome tone

  • Comment removed

  • the vocals sound like matt heafy from trivium a bit, pretty sick

  • @MrChickenWings6 nah they sound a bit fuller than matts vocals. I think that Matt has a kinda raspy scream, while Josh has more of a growly scream. I love both of their screams though

  • @MrChickenWings6 I dunno about Matt. Awesome vocals from both though

  • @MrChickenWings6 what an insult to the almighty sylosis

  • @yummpyummp suck my dick

  • @MrChickenWings6 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @UKRCyanide i herd u liek peepee juise in ur butt

  • @UKRCyanide screming munkys on lsd

  • @yummpyummp haha right matt heafy sucks nuts

  • I persoanlly think Josh's voice is better suited for this type of genre - his has that some what evil yet melodic feel to it, especially at 4:52 - makes me shiver everytime.

  • I like the broad range of sounds in the song, not just one heavy riff and a grown ass man singing,i mean roaring........

  • awesome song, quality could be better

  • Hes vocalist and lead guitarist. So hes got a lot of talent.

  • the vocal is different ... its weird

  • @albarrette Their leadguitarist 'Josh Middleton' is doing Vocals as well now after they parted ways out with the old vocalist. In my opinion Josh is doing a great job here but I always had more respect for vocalists who also play guitar at the same time :D

  • @FassaertS OH!! i didnt know. damn it.

  • @FassaertS COmpletely agree with you man!

  • @Colton527 Haha thanks man :D

  • @FassaertS he only plays lead and sings on the album, when they play live he is the rhythm guitarist

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork Some parts he does rhythm, but he still does a lot of lead and he does all solos and sweeps and stuff so :p

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork wrong actually my good man. josh likes to push him self, just as should any musician, so they (josh and bailey) mix up the melodies and rhythms live. + Josh does all the solo's live too.

  • @stixflix06 i saw an interview and i believe bailey said that he solos live, im dieng to see them live but i dont doubt you im just going off of what i heard

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork i know he plays the leads in reflections through fire and alot of harmonies. he doesn't play the solo's tho. they are written and played by josh :). Yeah man they are hands down one of the tightest bands you'll see live!!

  • @stixflix06 they dont come to america often, theyve been here like 1nce or 2ce

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork He's lead live too

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork just saw them live at Sonisphere, he played all the lead parts :)

  • @10DaysOfSilenceTV your dont understand how bad i wanted to go... it sucks being a poor us kid :'(

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork i just saw them live man he does 90% of the lead stuff as well live...

  • @PokeYouWithaSpork lol completely wrong...he does all the leads live

  • @Lekiwi33 no he doesnt, if the leads are to hard to play whilst singing he passes it off to bailey.

  • @sgmatt93 ive watched sylosis 3 times live this year....brutal assault festival, summer breeze open air, and at the cathouse in glasgow....in which duration i havent seen bailey do one solo....i am not insulting him as guitarist....he is far more skilled than i am...but josh has done ALL the leads....trust me on that

  • @Lekiwi33 nah i didn't mean the solos, i know josh does all them because he writes all of it.

  • @sgmatt93 /watch?v=UWT_YLibgp0 see he plays the leads even while he growls....u were probably thinking he didnt play the lead at 1:40 but he does...check the live :)

  • @FassaertS i agree with u but i have to say that vocals expecially deep screaming is very hard to do whilst playing guitar. saying that josh is doing a very good job of it and i love the entire album :D i like Empyreal the most :)

  • shredding from reading... on this album you have it... once again! On the next album i want to have only shredding without melodies... and then an sylosis album purely instrumental with nice melodies and stuff... like opeth's deliverance and damnation.

  • shredding from reading... on this album you have it... once again! On the next album i will have only shredding without melodies... and then an sylosis album purely instrumental with nice melodies and stuff... like opeth's deliverance and damnation.

  • Brutal as fuck ! Yet razor blade precision... Sylosis is on another level. Also, Josh is an evil musical mastermind fuckin genius! I mean how the fuck he can play the guitar like that (even solos) and vocals simultaneously is beyond me. The whole cd is simply a concentrated musical assault of precision brutality.

  • I like the vocals of this album quite a bit so far. Sound more strong and aggressive to me. The music of course is still awesome.

  • @AlwaysBeKilling Are you saying Power Metal isn't metal I have a hard time calling some from that genre dark

  • 3:54 YEEESSSSSSS

  • 0 dislikes out of 4400 views is restoring my faith in humanity. thank you sylosis.

  • @wtfronsson Only idiots that don't know music would dislike this and these idiots are not bright enough to find out recent stuff if it's not popular.

  • 0 dislikes, now that's what I like to see! can't wait to see them at Soni :D

  • FUCKING AMAZIIIIING! i was waiting for this for so long and completely forgot till today :o

    Sylosis kicks fucking ass!

  • Awesome song.

  • everytime i hear that intro chord i think "paralyzer"

  • I see the genre Nazis are out ;( id say this is pure ass ripping METAL and as far as Im concerned its the BEST out there.

  • @bloodslushie123 I never said it was dickface, I said the vocals were metalcore.

  • @insidethefall78 which is saying its metal core cuntbutter haha

  • @bloodslushie123 This album is just too dark and depressing, the older stuff is some of the tastiest metal ive heard, it made me wanna rip someones head off. The new vocals arent as good either, he kinda reminds me of matt heafy..Weak..

  • good music, the metalcore vocals are horrible and just ruin everything

  • @insidethefall78 It's called melodic thrash metal for a reason, bro.

  • Good for Josh Middleton! He has a fucking kickass voice!

  • This is some fucking great stuff! I' ve never heard Sylosis since last week, and I have to say that I istantly fell in love with them, especially with this album!

  • This album sucks, its nowhere near as good as the older stuff.

  • 6:16 that scream is the best I've ever heard,

  • Comment removed
