I'm compiling a CD of metal songs I really dug back in the early 00's. This is definitely one of them. Along with Crowbar's Lasting Dose, Gardenian's Long Snap From Zero, and Rival School's Used For Glue, etc. Pretty eclectic list.
That turned out to be the final hometown show for Pantera. Glad I won the argument with my friends about which concert we were going to see. They wanted to go to Ozzfest, I let them know they would be going without me. I was going to see Pantera & Slayer!!!!
I was at Extreme Steel 2001 in Dallas, Morbid Angel blew Skrape off the stage, and they played half the songs, to half the audience. Really an epic show though, from top to bottom. Skrape and Static x played quite well. My friends and I were kind of new to death metal, all we really knew were Six feet under, and Cannibal Corpse. Our jaws hit the floor when Morbid Angel played.
Dont know where everyone is from but Billy Keeton and Will Hunt are going to be reuniting for a Skrape concert at Route 46 in Sanford, FL on Friday July 1. Billy now plays for BroadBent Betty and his bass player Robbie Sinn (Flock of Seagulls) is also opening for Skrape as the lead singer in a Cult Tribute Band.
@ryanexsus Morbid Angel > Skrape > Static X > Slayer > Pantera. Does that sequence look wrong to you? If it doesn't, you are seriously misguided. Granted, Static X was the most energetic band on stage that night, and got the crowd moving more than Pantera, but FUCK! Morbid Angel played four songs. Two off Gateways To Annihilation and two of Alters of Madness (well, and the Kawazu, which doesn't really count). Then they let Skrape play for 40 minutes. I reiterate: FUCK THAT NOISE!
@godemp Skrape/Static-X/Morbid Angel/Pantera/Slayer. That's the most logical way I'd think. And I love all of them, so it isn't a bias. I know how Slayer fans are.
@wyldeman7 You are totally entitled to your opinion. I certainly disagree with you, but, meh, whatever. Who the fuck am I to judge your taste in music.
I was mostly complaining that having Morbid Angel open for this at a show of mostly thrash and death metal is just plain fucking wrong.
Man this song takes me back to when I was in like....7th, maybe 8th grade at the latest. Hahaha. Thought I was soooo cool listening to this type of music...while everyone was listening to rap/pop. This has to be one of my favorite songs all time.
@RAWGlobal not true.... i think from florida period... saw these guys at lavela in panama city and then at the sapphire in orlando..... they were fuckin awesome
its about time someone posted this song on youtube. i saw these guys open for pantera when i was 16. i wouldnt admit i liked skrape but i fell in love with this song. this song is awesome. thanks for posting!!!
you mean reinventing the steel tour lol yes that was a fucking awesome tour i saw it when i was 15 best fucking concert ever man and so many people were carried out on stretchers due to mosh fever one hell of a show
One of the most under-appreciated albums ever. Every song kicks ass. Reminds me of Gravity Kills-Perversion, in that regard.
