i find it funny in some games to point out that "you ran out of lives" and say GAME OVER on the same screen. idk why i just find it funny like rubbing salt in a wound.
12: XD 13: uh, no? 14: AGAIN, I already know i have no lives left. 15: Poor Frogger. but still, HORRIBLE GO SCREEN 16: No thanks. 17: ... 18: Nah. 19: No thanks. Becides, He doesn't do Anything on his battle. 20: nice! 21: Nah. 22: HUMBUG!!! 23: Naaaah. 24: *continued*
Maybe it's something along the line of "The End". This piece of text appears in the ending for Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S - Kondo ha Puzzle de Oshiokiyo!
How do you pronounce "Game over" in Japanese if you please? I am trying to learn Japanese in gaming and I have a interest in why game over in Japanese is spelt like it is. Is it composed of 4 words?
"Game over" is commonly spelled in katakana, which is a phonetic alphabet used to transcribe foreign words.
The transliteration of this katakana phrase is "GEEMU OOBAA", which is the closest possible way to write "game over" with a japanese alphabet, since in Japanese there is no "V" (substituted with "B") and consonants can't stand on their own, hence the "MU".
As you can see, it's not 4 words, but 4 syllables.
Either way, it's a bit hard to understand if you don't have much knowledge of Japanese. I suggest you look up "katakana" in Wikipedia or Google, and "japanese pronounciation guides". I'm sure there are amateur sites out there with enough info to get you started. : )
Thanks! It's interesting how certain things are pronounced and spelled. However you're translation looks like something that would be as close as possible. notice they have "--" to seperate the syllables. Maybe it's "Ge-emu-OO-BAA-" one may never know! Thanks for easing my curiousity, it's a pain in the ass lol.
Thank you. I Really want to learn japanese in gaming terms. You've helped me. I don't know why I am so interested in japanese when it comes to gaming. It's nice to know languages that you can't read. Thanks again for your help. This spikes my interest some more *cheers*!

@Oldskoolkid2k8
It says: Owari which literally could be translated as: Finished
The screen before that asks the user if he wants to continue:
"Geemu o tsuzukemasuka?":
Do you want to continue the game?
hai -> yes
iie -> no

miiproductions02 2 years ago
Would it be "Practising"? Hmm... it depends on what people think is correct spelling or not.
KungFuFurby 2 years ago
"Practice" is a noun, "practise" is a verb, so "Try practising" is correct.
