Buy gold, tunafish and lead pellets which have gunpowder behind them. If anyone asks for an oz of gold for a freaking bag of spuds, offer to pay them in hot lead instead.
They are betting against every country in the world, not just the U.S.
Part of the reason for this is that cds can be traded before they expire resulting in a gain/loss, if not for this fact the volume wouldn't be so heavy but it's the nature of instruments to be traded so no surprise. They have not officially made all cds deliverable in gold yet but Im sure they will, most likely gold and euros, cant be just gold.
A friend of mine's father grew up in Weimar Germany during those times. He said he knew farmers that had barns full of valuable artwork, jewelry, furniture, and more just because they could produce FOOD.
Yes! He told me some farmers had more gold and silver than they knew what to do with, because what people really needed was food. I think the area was relatively well off in previous decades so they did have some precious metals in their homes. Today, most households don't have much or any precious metals, so if food shortages hit, who knows what will get traded for the basics of life!
Laws are being pushed to prevent small farmers from marketing their crops without going bankrupt trying to clear the federal regulation hurdles. Anyone thinking they will get rich or even produce income may be in for a surprise. Powerful agri-business salivate at the prospect of greens turning into gold.
Let's hope they don't ban growing or storing food for personal consumption.
About a year ago, I commented on Karl's forum that the Owens/Glass Act (Federal Reserve Act) needed to be repealed. You would have thought I was the devil incarnate and was kicked off Karl's forum by Karl for my sacrilege. He has since come around more to my way of thinking.
I've also wondered about Karl's philosophy on gold and money. He is extremely conservative and has a conservative patriotic bent. Perhaps his ideology influences his outlook on the dollar.
@doverlin, I've had similar experiences with KD. He threatened to ban me from his forum ("You have now been warned not to propagate your gold-bug myths" or something to that extent) after my first comment when I merely stated, in a premise to a point I made, a brief synopsis of the history of Bretton Woods agreement and its reneging in 1971. You would have thought I was blaspheming by his response. I lost respect for him... there is a strange issue with him... but I like some of his commentary.
question to whoever might want to answer it: considering the bending over with or without KY, considering the monetization of debts, considering the tax-dollar hand-overs to pay for derivatives bets, if something like this goes through, do you suppose this is part of a larger move to ensure most or all of the known gold (or at least gold for sale) leaves the hands of the ordinary buyer, citizen, for a very long time?
Awesome info! I have 100+ cans of Tuna at all times. If only I had that many gold coins. Let me know if you're feeling generous or sorry for me & wanna send somethin' my way. Hehehe... Take care!
Quick questing in which part of that country could you buy a bag of potatoes, and in which part of the country could you buy a building(city, country side, or suburbs)?
Ok, if you're trying to wake your family and friends up but they are not open to listening and they're not on board..do you just give up on them?
Also, if you are going to date someone and they aren't interested in prepping, pms, or thinking about what the future is going to be like, is that a dealbreaker...even if they are a nice person?
@starfish... sorry to hear that. My dating experiences have been challenged by my talking about preparing. But, I am interested in talking about it sometimes. Anyhow, good luck! You'll know you've found the right one when you do.
Ah thanks, good luck to you too. I'm not too worried about it, at least I don't have to split my PMs or preps. Hahaha...yes, I hear the line about being more optimistic too. Or this one..."if God thinks it's my time to go, then I'll go" in response to the dieoff or disasters.
Hey buddy you always have great videos and information. I see you are getting prepared for whatever. Have you invested in the other precious metals yet? steel aluminum and brass a.k.a GUNS AND AMMO. Those will be worth Buttloads in value and safety during a collapse of any kind.
Another great comment - thanks for sharing. I've heard of a wheelbarrow of money for a loaf of bread but not an once of gold for a bag of potatoes - but, supply and demand - it could and probably did happen during their hyper-inflation. The Versailes treaty and the League of Nations (lead by Wilson but which the US Senate didn't adopt) raped Germany of all their natural resources and real wealth - thus causing the hyper-inflation. Again, great comments - Keep it going.
Did anyone realize how crappy Closed Caption is on Youtube hahah its very funny. I would be soooo mad if i had to give up a oz of gold for a sack of potatoes! that would have to be a bunch of potatoes!
Well you can listen to who you want but when THEY are upfront and telling us NOT to eat it,then I feel very safe in assuming they're not lying this time.
I've spent the last 2 years researching 2012 and survival, hence the reason I predicted the last crash and knew that gold and silver was the currency to hold.
But to each their own research and beliefs, personally I'm stocked in dry goods, cans, seeds, pasta, gold, silver and my next purchase are portable water filterS.
@BackBurnerNews depends on the circumstances of the market... if you are in the boondocks and there is one bag of potatoes left and several people that are hungry, the "bidding" gets crazy.
another good investment - kevlar garments. Even the ones without the plates will protect you from broken bottles and knives, which gives you the (not so pleasant) opportunity (if you see it coming) to block a knife with your arm so your neck is saved (literally).
Ya, same as being attempted in BC in Canada. It's all about ensuring the Sheeple get Sheared on schedule. I wish you well ... I suppose you could learn how to make kevlar. I imagine that will be difficult. However, silver paint can help you make a taser-proof jacket/gloves. Conducting layer outside, insulating layer inside (leather to stop those barbs).
you could also see if someone from somewhere else would buy one, wear it across the border as it's not very obvious as kevlar, and then sell it to you and then return without it. No one would normally notice such a thing.
@BackBurnerNews Yes and you will also need a gun to protect your potatoes. You think hungry starving people who are paying 1 0z of gold for potatoes wont try to rob you and take it all? get real!
Should we buy weights of gold smaller than 1 oz. so we can get a potatoes for less? I was thinking of buying fractional gold bullion. The smaller Eagles seem to have a huge premium. What's a good alternative, Krugerrands or just go for gram bars?
I really like the sovereigns, they are a quarter oz. I found a coin shop that sells me them at the same price/oz as the rounds or bar bullion. And you get 4 instead of one so that cool too.
@stereokid Getting fractional gold is a good idea. But in a survival situation where there is one bag of potatoes and several people who are hungry, the value of that bag gets crazy.
So there are CDS against the U.S. payable in Gold. No problem angry fleeced citizens will follow where the Gold goes and hang them from the highest tree (if they are lucky..but probably much worse) Rich speculators vs. 400 Million Guns..That's just in the U.S. alone!! Is there CDS's I can take out against the speculator's lives?
Americans are too busy saying there's no global warming, no food crisis, no peak oil and that gold isn't real money. By the time they find out what's wrong they'll be too starved to fight anyone but each other for the last scraps of a meal. Seriously.
i was suprised too...but appearntly the shop owners dont like trillion dollar notes....another thing that people are hearing about is the fact that india has been having 17% food inflation per week lately...might want to keep an eye on that story.
In Zimbabwe only those who are able to dig/pan for gold are the ones who are able to buy bread and other foods. Indeed, gold for food may not look like a bargain, but you are the one who's able to live to tell the tale!
Food, metals, tools, skills are the new currencies for the future. :)
I've mixed feelings on Denninger. To me he seems to steam and throw fits but he only wants to change the system by using the traditional structure of the system. I think the system itself should go.

If you're relying on water treatment plants and pumping stations, you're not prepared at all.. get your water in order and THEN the food.. freeze dried or other.
STAY AWAY from canned Tuna,Health Canada has warned Canadians to NOT eat more than ONE can/year.The mercury levels are very high in canned tuna so much so that pregnant women are told not to eat any.
RAW Hemp seeds(still in shell) are by far the BEST survival food you can find,Hemp seeds are the MOST Nutritious seed on EARTH.Because of it's diversity and "Perfect" Omega oil proportion it's referred to the " Seed of Man ",flax is second but not nearly as well proportioned as Hemp.
should we really listen to health warnings issued by the same bodies who poison our water with Fluoride, contaminate our milk with hormones, permit us to smoke known cancer poisons for the tax revenue, permit us to drink alcohol while preventing us from hemp, etc. etc.?
It is not if, but when.. and WHEN one doesn't have enough to eat, you won't care one bit if it is tuna in a can.
I could count tuna coins alll day. I think I'll go to costco and get some supplies today. I've really been putting it off and there's no excuse.
Also, did you see that Goldman Sachs in their latest 10Q said that Janet Tavakoli and others like her (Matt Taibi, etc.) pose a risk to their business?
When I go to the store...LOL... I get stared at buy the people in line behind me because I get o many canned goods and TOILET PAPER! $1 at the local dollar store. I feel bad sometimes cause they just stare like.. :-o
Denninger never mentions events in history. I get the feeling that's not important to him. And his arguments against gold are basically : "If it all comes crashing down nobody will have any money to buy your gold with". Which clearly shows he doesn't get it. There will be no "money" to trade your gold for because the gold will be the money. This is a major blind spot for an otherwise brilliant mind.
He also forgets that there are a LOT Of rich people in the US with a LOT of paper money. TPTB want to bring the whole thing crashing down, not let the rich prosper and buy more. I am in completely disagree with him, and if we do not see hyperinflation we will see stagflation, but for sure I would bet against deflation, that aint gonna happen! Prices are going up..
Good call on KD, but we ARE in a deflationary period right now as all of the credit gets destroyed, which functions just like printed money. We will continue in this deflationary period for a while longer, but not then.. Boom.
@SF - I mentioned a brief history of money on KD's forum and he threatened to ban me from the forum (my first post ever) for spreading gold-bug myths.
lexus, I agree. I would like to add that KD doesn't seem to believe what happened with paper money in Wiemar Germany. KD should also keep in mind that the only thing that saved the dollar during the 30's depression was gold. The dollar had something to back it up.
credit default swaps taken against the US? this is not a good indicator... and i have some tuna stored in the pantry..cat keeps eyeing it. thanks for the post. fav
Hmmm, if food is gone in the future, ill be sure to come over your house to get some tuna :-) .... its kinda weird but I mix one cup of organic brown rice, once can of tuna and mustard and mix it in a bowl... it taste great LOL
In the case of ALDI's , this was a brand of tuna called SeaNet I tried a number of cans over different date codes and it is exceptional, almost like albacore tuna, big chunks and not at all like some tuna that looks like mush, the flavor was quite good. ALDI's is a German owned company, you know them Germans when it comes to marketing.. LOL This is from Thailand, but I did notice it says it contains soy? must be in the broth I am thinking?
Stock pile Vitamin C because fruits and vegetables will be hard to obtain and you don't want your teeth to fall out due to scurvy. Would also go with a good multi-vitamin and multiple B vitamin. In difficult times stretch them out by taking them every other day.
Long shelf life food is a great investment whatever happens, or not. Just make sure it's what you would usually eat so you can work your way through it. Sensible stock-rotation means you'll never end up with spoilt food that's gone out of date in a few years.
Buy gold, tunafish and lead pellets which have gunpowder behind them. If anyone asks for an oz of gold for a freaking bag of spuds, offer to pay them in hot lead instead.

Cereal and Tuna store well for when the wheels come off. Survival is key. Nice vlog as usual.

TheLiddlekiddle 1 year ago
Good call on KD, but we ARE in a deflationary period right now as all of the credit gets destroyed, which functions just like printed money. We will continue in this deflationary period for a while longer, but not then.. Boom.
Eraser7622 1 year ago
@bunkermunk That is true, I wonder if he has studied the history of money?
silverfuturist 1 year ago
@SF - I mentioned a brief history of money on KD's forum and he threatened to ban me from the forum (my first post ever) for spreading gold-bug myths.
magichandpuppet 1 year ago
@magichandpuppet that is too bad... I think his stubborn nature is not letting him look into gold.
silverfuturist 1 year ago
ya .... gold IS money. Always was. Always will be. Denninger has been blinded by paper money.

I think KD is in the deflationist camp and thinks that Cash will be king. (I think that is what he has implied, but could be wrong on that)
Lexi8888 1 year ago
lexus, I agree. I would like to add that KD doesn't seem to believe what happened with paper money in Wiemar Germany. KD should also keep in mind that the only thing that saved the dollar during the 30's depression was gold. The dollar had something to back it up.

Tuna fish sucks, I think I stick with Spam, that crap sucks also but not as much as that mercury lace stinking tuna fish does.
Those are trading cans, not eating cans.
Nasty crap.

If you have an "ALDI's "store near you, they have some great canned tuna @ 49 cents per can
CTOL1 1 year ago
@CTOL1 I have seen Aldi stores, but never been in one. I will check them out next time I drive by.
silverfuturist 1 year ago
Caveat Emptor. The quality of tuna varies greatly. I once bought a cheap cas that was so bad my cat wouldn't touch it!
bunkermunk 1 year ago
In the case of ALDI's , this was a brand of tuna called SeaNet I tried a number of cans over different date codes and it is exceptional, almost like albacore tuna, big chunks and not at all like some tuna that looks like mush, the flavor was quite good. ALDI's is a German owned company, you know them Germans when it comes to marketing.. LOL This is from Thailand, but I did notice it says it contains soy? must be in the broth I am thinking?
CTOL1 1 year ago
The soy is in the oil. If it's good bunker up! Keep it in a cool dry place and you can always use the oil to wick your lamps.

Stock pile Vitamin C because fruits and vegetables will be hard to obtain and you don't want your teeth to fall out due to scurvy. Would also go with a good multi-vitamin and multiple B vitamin. In difficult times stretch them out by taking them every other day.

@colm103 Excellent point, I now know what my props will be for my next video.
silverfuturist 1 year ago
If you live in a climate with wild berries or wild roses (for the rose-hips) you don't need to stock viamin C.

@lisajason111 I have heard from many pundits that there will be food, it is just that it will cost a lot more.
silverfuturist 1 year ago
Long shelf life food is a great investment whatever happens, or not. Just make sure it's what you would usually eat so you can work your way through it. Sensible stock-rotation means you'll never end up with spoilt food that's gone out of date in a few years.

just watch the Hurt Locker, in the end of the movie, that supermarket is so huge, an entire wall of cereals. lol, all gonna be gone?
