It;s the same car buitl by Toyota. For Asian and Australia markets the car is sell under Toyota Altezza trade mark and for European and America is sell like Lexus IS300. Outside and inside are the same cars.

Not exactly. You can get Altezzas as RS200-L. That comes with all the frills as the lexus, heated seats, sunroof etc etc.

AS200 is same spec as an IS200, AS200L being with the fancy interior.

Also, one notable difference is the AS200 and IS200 show fuel usage, where as an RS200 does not. Instead they show oil pressure.

Altezza (SXE-10) is for JDM only.

Lexus IS200 (GXE-10) is basically an altezza with a straight 6 engine (1GFE, which is slower, 3GSE in the tezza), it is much heavier than the altezza. The suspension is slightly different too.

And altezza a pure weapon of a car? I think not. It's really slow. (0-60 in 7.2) But the chassis is fucking brilliant. Handles perfectly, you wouldn't think it weights over 1400kg.

Great car, sadly lacking in the engine department, still great though. And I got one.

Well, I'll say one good thing about the IS200 then. The torque curve is more even. Much better to drive on a daily basis, I would say.

The Altezza is horrible to drive at low rmp. But once VVTI kicks in :D :D

IS300 (and AS300 Altezza) come with a 2JZ, engine from the non-turbo supra.

I believe the JDM comes as an auto only, while the US IS300 comes as a manual too. Not 100% sure on that though.

yeah,the VR6 have a wonderful motor but with 1.8T you have more torque very soon, my best friend have a Golf 1.8 4 motion and i love this car,it's normally aspirated but differently from mine,the 4 motion have the rear axle multilink and it's more precisely to drive,recently i drove a 5th series 1.4 TSi 170hp, turbo and volumex togheter,probably the best engine in his class! now i want buy a new Scirocco with this engine

I love the 944, what a great car it was. Those are plentiful here in the States, thank goodness (thank you Deutchland for sending this awesome car!). I have owned two, both N/A, both with suspension and breathers (intake and exhaust, full cat-back) I loved my red one and my yellow one equally. It could have been better if I owned them both at the same time, but oh well life isn't perfect. Those bad boys rip hard on corners!
