Get one thing straight, if abortion is criminalized, either the mother or doctor held criminally liable, the highest court at the state and federal level will retain jurisdiction. It is far better to recognize that abortion is reprehensible, perhaps immoral, and may have unintended consequences, but regulating abortion is easier to accomplish without criminal sanctions. I'm not supporting abortion, but recognizing, like the gun debate, pro choice advocates out number pro life advocates.
