Wow this is the worst report I seen for CNN, they got a bunch of numbers and statistic and base this stupid racist theory on that. Then they probably ask 40 Asian guys to get the one guy who talked about Japanese not liking change. Which is a totally flawed theory seeing how Hilary is a WOMEN, never had a women for president. Why can't Asians vote without it being race related? Why not ask them why they voting for Hilary. Instead of showing us they want Hilary then tell us what to think about it
tiny?? I'm average 5'8 stocky and this is a first for me to hear a racist black person talking down to someone of different skin color i have blacks friend also homeboy you ain't no realist you just ignorant.I've seen more black trying to act white than any other race but i don't have a problem with that people act they way they want so what and im just wondering why you talking down when alot of asians are the one who is backing OBAMA UP???
Whatever honky more like all white are trying to be like us everything yall do has to have some type of Asian influence I don't have nothing against whites because I have a lot of whites friends but i don't tolerance racism there no such thing as a race trying to be another race i'm sure if you was a white American born in another country you'll act the same as that race in that country fucking moron. I beat punk like you up and i have my white friend to back me up now what bitch
i voted for hillary because mccain and herself were the only two candidates that got off their asses and visited the troops in iraq...obama wont even give the proper respect and etiquette when the national anthem is playing and you guys want to make him president??? i do understand somewhat of the stigma related to blacks wanting respect in this country because they get shit on so much, and by electing this man president they think its going to boost self esteem, but c'mon this is the wrong way.
I very disappointed that CNN have to stoop so low to make this video. No wonder why they are one of the worst new media ever. If you want good news, watch Fox New because they give accurate news. Don't watch those moron on CNN.
1. All of the "Asian Americans" shown are not even Asian American, they are Asian. There is a difference and it was not addressed correctly which shows the ignorance of CNN on the Asian American community.
2. The white male reporter made a racial reaction to the women who said "Lincoln" instead of "Clinton"
4. Asian Americans include a wide range of communities but only 2 were shown which is not an accurate representation. 5 people do not speak for a community of hundreds of thousands.
MASTER DECEIVERS ! "A FACE IN THE CROWD" Starring Obama ! Puzzled ? ask any senior He was RECORDED, (at Getty's mansion) THANKS GOD !! Just HEAR his tone and sarcastic laughter ! SEARCH: 3 Obama coddles San Francisco sponsors Obama will hear small town whisper on 4-22-08 SHOCKING Obama audio: anti-White The OBAMAS ARE SUPREMACISTS BOUNDED TO A Nonnegotiable commitment to Africa! Google' OBAMA's CHURCH THEY think PENNSYLVANIA IS STUPID !
It seems to be a fucking hype amongst the immigrants to conserve about voting for her because of her experience and because of Obama's racial ethnicity. Obama ftw now. I have no choice.
I don't think she has more years in senate (state and U.S. combined) than Obama did. They must be counting her years as first lady in the white house and first lady of Arkansas but....what is more important is their voting records and whether they have been consistent and whether people agree what they want to do for the country.
The immigrant generation of Asians are ignorant to vote for Clinton. I personally prefer Ron Paul, but we all know he isn't an option anymore. I choose Obama any day over Clinton. The older generations of Asians have no clue what they are getting into. I mostly hear amongst the older immigrant Asians reason that Clinton has more experience, so they prefer her. Word? Perhaps, but other than that I can sadly say that my people are DUMB AS FUCK TO VOTE FOR HER!!.
Asian Americans want to be white so badly. Maybe not the kids as much, but I know alot of our parents love white America a little too much... My girlfriend's mother said Asian girls were ugly compared to white girls...and they're Asian. But I'm speaking in generalities
As a black man, I have to agree with the people who say that this video is racist. It definitely stereotypes the Asian population. I actually know a Chinese family who convinced their daughters (who never vote) to go out and vote for Obama. It's sad to see a popular news network stoop this low and twist things this way and portray a group of millions of people in one specific way.
This is the same thing racist whites do to blacks on a daily basis.
i dont think we should get rid of black history month and MLK day -.- your comment is totally hypocritical. and just for your information, May is the offical Asian Pacific American Heritage Month that is celebrated across the nation, so the Asian history month you mention is already established. but I do agree that this video is totally unnecessary and racist.
so how is my comment hypocritical? No one gives a rats ass that it's asian pacific american heritage month. ask anybody on the streets as to what the significance of may is and they'll have no fucking clue.
2) The U.S. should stop pandering to minorities groups specifically those composed mostly of blacks. In case you haven't noticed, there are other races in this country. Get rid of black history month and MLK day. Nobody cares anymore. Why not Asian history month or Native American history month?
If nobody cares about Martin Luther King anymore, that would do a lot to explain why our country still has so many problems, especially those involving race and socioeconomics. Martin Luther King is /was / will always be one of the most important figures in American history. To the extent that people have forgotten the lessons he taught, we are that much worse off.
as an asian american, i think some of the outrage over this video is getting blown out of proportion. if cnn went out of their way to find asians with accents (which some people are complaining about), then ok, maybe that's racist, but if a good proportion actually do speak with accents, what can you do about it? i think a more interesting angle would have been to compare the votes of recent/older immigrants who might cling to what's comfortable vs younger, second-generation asian americans.
RYEBOSCO, I HAD A MODICUM OF RESPECT FOR YOU, BUT YOUR A FRAUD AND A BIGOT.
TO ASIANS (especially angryazianman) AND ALL OTHERs, PLEASE YT SEARCH "You're Full of It Barack Hussein Obama" AND LOOK AT THE COMMENTS LEFT BY HIM AND HIS KKK BUDDIES.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE OBAMA, BECAUSE HE'S BLACK THEN SAY THAT AND STOP HIDING BEHIND THIS LACK OF EXPERIENCE AND OTHER NONSENSE.
ANOTHER THING, YOU'RE NOT EVEN VOTING IN THIS ELECTION, BECAUSE YOUR FROM TURKMENISTAN, NOT THE U.S. IT'S ON YOUR YT PAGE.
Keep your respect because you as a black man living in America will need it more than anybody. I am a realist.
It's okay to be racist (in humor, in our thoughts, decisions, stories, art, whatever). But it is wrong to use racism to physically hurt another or start a riot.
LOL, u r funny. Let's just wait and see if this Obama bullshit will pass in November if gets the nomination.
If I were in HR, I'd hire Colin Powell before Obama.
"Hi Mr. Obama, I'm the HR Manager and here's the reason y I didn't hire u to be president of this company. U lack experience, u've only been in your current position a little over 2 years, we have other senior applicants with proven track records and kept their promises to remain in their department for a full term, and i dont think the stockholders would be willing to place this company's future on hopes and speeches. Come back in 8 years after u've paid your dues."
Whatever dude. You keep voting for these same career politicians. The longer they're in the office, the more useless they become. They do nothing for the working Joe. They become slaves to lobbyists and corporate America. They get reelected using wedge issues (immigration, gay marriage, welfare) and fearmongering. Karl Rove wrote the playbook on that B.S.
You keep saying speeches, but Hillary doesn't do anything but talk about being able to lead on Day 1 and 35 yrs of imaginary experience.
This fanatical Obama cult-like movement will face the reality of America which is racism within us. Presently, the media is fueling the "affluent and educated" Obama vote and many are buying it because it's simply cool, different and prestigious to be associated with or to support Obama.
An Obama vote is marketed as a status vote. In November when voters have had enough time to assess what's best for America, the voters will vote for experience.
Rye do you think Hillary Rodham Clinton is a poor person who do you think she represents, my friend she is an elitist like most politicians? I thought everybody had figured that out.
Hi Tan, you're right, as I already said, all politicians are alike, Hillary included. The reason y I'm in this blog is to explain that this election year (if Obama continues to be in the picture) will be about Race. Racism will prevent Obama from becoming president. This report is so fucked up that the media does not even report as to why over 80% of blacks thus far voted for Obama--don't tell me it had nothing to do with race. RACISM IS OBAMA'S DOWNFALL.
Yeah, they'll vote for John "100 years in Iraq" McCain and his warmonger buddies Lieberman and Giuliani. Yeah Sure!
You sound like some H.R person. I've been at my job for 3 yrs. I work with people who have been there for 20+ yrs and I outperform them. Experience is necessary, but the person's work ethic and character is more important. Obama is right. You want these same experienced folks, that have been ruining the country. Experienced in starting wars and taking lobbyist money. I'll Pass!
What a BS piece. Didn't do his research, obviously. Funny, I just congratulated my friend, who is an immigrant from Vietnam, on being elected a delegate for McCain this past Tues, Feb. 12. He's part of that Asian immigrant group that is supposed to support Hillary b/c they enjoyed prosperity during the 90s under Clinton, according to this report. Hmmm. I used to support Obama, until I got my head out of my ass and looked at his stance on the ISSUES. Race has nothing to do w/ it.
Aside from Iraq, what is the difference in their domestic agenda? Please elaborate sir. No one has been able to answer this convincingly.
She's more experienced and more issue oriented. Huh!! Barack wants to give teenagers the chance to attend college for free, by working in public service. Hilary's plan is similar. They both want universal healthcare, but Hillary is selling a dream saying 100% of Americans will be insured. B.S! Barack has a buy-in plan, which is more realistic w/o mandates.
Hillary b/c they enjoyed prosperity during the 90s under Clinton, according to this report.
However that is Bill Clinton not Hillary, there is no gurantee that Hillary will bring prosperity back, also what is her stance on foreign diplomacy and what is her stance on getting America better prepared to compete in the world.
Me and coworker were talking about this last week. The U.S.A was heading out of a recession, when Bill Clinton took office. This President will be at the beginning of one, when they take office, which is a huge difference. Another thing, the birth of the Internet and Silicone Valley pumped billions into the economy. This is something that HillBilly can't pull out of their magic bag of tricks. Bill Clinton was a good President, but this notion that Hillary can replicate his record is absurd.

Asians don't want a Black President because seeing a Black man in power is a threat to Asians.
East Asians feel that because they are the wealthiest and most educated, that they should be the ones holding the power and prestige. For them to see an articulate, intellectual Black man rise up for Presidency means that the Black community will take pride in Obama and become better.
Asians fear that if a Black man is President, it will be a threat to Asians' status as the model minority.
teknosoulo2 well how is seeing a black as a president a threat to Asians? Also if East Asian want power where is their candidate? Blacks take pride anyway without Obama I dont quite understand that one. Also I believe Asian's status is already being threatened and Obama has nothing to do with that.
people are voting for obama because he's clearly the best candidate. period. dont forget that we've had black candidates in the past and people didnt vote for them because they were black.
i have no problem with asians voting for clinton. thats a personal choice, but to say you're voting for "clinton white lady" seems kinda odd to me.
Well rye would you have a problem if blacks voted for a white president I don't quite get what you mean by making history, is that a bad thing? I mean look at South Africa,Nelson Mandela was a prisoner for 27 years and went on to not only make history but do bigger things as well. Are caucasians the only ones qualified to lead? Somehow what you are saying doesn't make sense.
Interesting, how you felt the need to write that last sentence in ALL CAPS. Ryebosco, who is "they"? Many women say it's time for a female President and that's why they voting for Hillary.
I respect people who acknowledge there is racism in the U.S.A. Most people try to pretend it doesn't exist and when it does it's abhorrent behavior. However, you seemed so fixated on Barack's blackness, you minimize him and his accomplishments thus far. Hence, your "only blacks voted for Obama" comment.

I'm an African-American male and many blacks feel Asians have low opinions of blacks assuming we're all lazy and criminals. I remember when I was ordering a hero at a NYC deli owned by Koreans. I asked the guy to heat the turkey and cheese, then add the dressings. He puts the lettuce and tomato in the microwave instead. When I politely corrected him, he yells "that's why I don't like you people, get out of my store". This is a mentality, unfortuntely all to common amongst immigrants.
Your impression of a Deli should not generalize to the whole Asian population. I am an Asian male and I do have good impressions of many Afrian Americans, especially colleagus in the past and present. The reason that Asians didn't support Obama is mainly to do with his lack of commitment to support equal rights for Asian American, which as a group is the most discriminated population in this country. Just check how many judges are asian comparing to the percentage of asian lawyers.
I just gave an example of the most glaring example I've experienced. Trust me, I and most of my friends, have more incidents than we can count. Youtube doesn't give you unlimited space to write folks.
Another thing, I never said ALL Asian were racist, but out of all so-called minorities, many blacks tend to feel Asians tend to be the most racist towards blacks. I'm black and people say blacks commit the most crime, percentage wise. Unfortunately, they're right. Denial is the enemy of change!
Ask yourself, how would your parents or your Asian friends' parents feel, if you or them brought home an African-American and announced you were engaged? I thought so!
People like to say they aren't racist or their community isn't either, but let you bring some black man or woman home to meet the parents, immediately the veil has lifted off the bullshit and propaganda.
so, in a nutshell, you're saying asians are the most racist group in america? what about white people? blacks? you need to stop generalizing us because you're just portraying yourself as a ignorant bigot. asians are not the one making racial jokes about everyone and think we can get away with it by using the race or "oh i didn't know it'd hurt you" card. check out hot 97 tsunami song or hip hop's perpetual use of "chink". what about eddie murphy playing yellow face?
Towards Blacks, kinda sorta! I feel they hold whites and black in a diametrically opposing viewpoint. Whites tend to be elevated as being the most beautiful and important, whereas blacks have been looked at as the most unattractive and least important. They did a really good episode on something like this on "Law & Order SVU", about a self-hating biracial guy (black/asian), who raped Asian women because of years of being rejected and treated as an outsider in the immigrant Asian community.
I think Miss Jones should have been fired. She called MTA Union President Roger Toussaint, who's a black Trinidadian a "dumb West Indian". He led a transit strike before the 2006 Christmas season, that paralyzed NYC.
As far as Eddie playing an old Asian man in Norbit, please! He played an old Jewish guy in "Coming To America". There was a Japanese female rap group who wore blackface and dreadlock wigs. I see that shyt every Halloween in NYC, but I don't see Blacks doing white/yellow face.
blackface/yellowface is wrong, period. it shows lack of racial and cultural sensitivity. Using examples of Asians playing blackface to remedy Eddie's yellowface does not make yellowface/blackface right. To be honest yellowface and blackface is more relevant than we think. Geisha outfits and hip hop clothes are covert examples.
I don't agree with anyone making racist jokes, because I sure don't like it when it's done to me. However, blacks who patronize Asian businesses in our communities are routinely treated poorly. I know some Asian merchants in my area that are cool as hell, but most seem to just tolerate the Blacks who patronize their businesses.
Listen many rappers have a slave mentality. They call themselves ni@@as, glorify crime sand violence and you expect them not to make other ignorant comments. C'mon!
ignorance and racism are two separate issues. a person who is ignorant have a higher tendency to be racist, but a racist person does not have to be ignorant. when rappers use "chink" or "thoia thoing" to describe or mock asians, it is inherently racist. Please do not downplay racism towards Asians.
Well, you seem to have a bit of hostility towards blacks, based on how you were treated. Sir, I'm not minimizing racism against Asians, but every example you gave of anti-asian racism, was perpetuated by ignorant rappers and radio hosts. If you're going to delineate between racism & ignorance, please provide examples of non-ghetto type blacks engaging in such behavior. Unlike you, I not so pro-race, that I'm in denial about the mindstate of some of my fellow blacks. I wish you could do the same.
look, i'm going to be real with you. i'm still in college and i have worked in food industries for a while now. statistically speaking, more blacks are rude than any other race. Many blacks make ridiculous demands and are niggard when it comes to tipping. i keep a record of tip % by race, and blacks have the lowest percentage (4%). Besides that, since i am asian, and they always ask me ignorant ass questions. "where u from?" (america, bitch) "you got fried rice" (no i work for papa johns)
LOL! Bingo, again, racism will be Obama's downfall in the end. Regardless of the sensational and phenomenal image that the media is using to favor Obama, it's all for ratings and news.
And beatkidjay, I'm telling u right now, EVERYBODY HAS RACISM IN THEM, U AND ME AND HE AND SHE...We are all practicing discrimination one way or another, in Obama's case, it's his race. That's just America and elsewhere in the world. (Classism, ageism, whateverism, Obama's "audacity" can only go so far.)
I totally agree. Of all the candidates, Clinton was the first to include Asians in her speeches. With the Hawaii primary coming up, only now will you hear Obama talk about the diverse population of Hawaii. But before that, it's all about the black vote, latino vote and the white vote.
first of all, how know the korean person wasn't american born. if you really want to generalize a race based on bad experiences there would be a genocide on african americans already. a little bit of xenophobia don't you think?
HI BEAT! :) THANK U, U FINALLY GOT MY POINT. I think it's fair to say that u voted for Obama because ultimately, he is a black man and u can relate to him. (U see, set economic class, ethnicity and education aside, it all boils down to the competition/politics of the races in America.)
The black people I know are educators with advanced degrees; they voted for Hillary. This argument will really go nowhere. Let's just wait until November who America chooses, then analyze it. :)
No, that's not what I said. Do you think I would support Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes or Condoleeza Rice solely based on skin color. African Americans aren't a simple as you think. About half of the women in my family, voted for Hillary. Sure, Barack being black is a factor, as Hillary being female is to many women. Funny how you constantly mention racism, but not sexism. Both of these issues are prominent, but aren't the end all, be all, like you're trying to make it.
ryebosco you're trying to implement "revisionist history" by stating Barack Obama's supporters are mostly black and poor. Please read and comprehend the statistical data relating to this election.
She was First Lady for 8 yrs and US Senator for 6 yrs. She only held elected office for 6 yrs. Obama has been in the US Senate for 2.5 years and the Illinois Senate for 8 yrs. People say, he has little foreign policy experience. Well, Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas, what experience did he have internationally. The last 3 out of 4 Presidents have been STATE governors.
Hillary has 35yrs experience doing what? Private sector mainly, just like Obama.
Excuse Me! Barack has held "ELECTED" office for 10 years. Hillary has held "ELECTED" office for 6 years. How is that answering my own question Rye? You don't run a campaign to become First Lady and you're not elected. You have a platform to speak and advance issues important to you, but you have no inherent powers. Is Chelsea Clinton going to say, she'll be a good Congresswomen in the future, because she lived in the White House for 8 yrs.
This was completely below the standard for CNN. Taking a cheap shot against the Asian Community as racist and ignorant. An apology from CNN for airing this segment is a necessity.
The media keeps mentioning Obama voters as "affluent and educated" as if Clinton voters are "poor and illiterate."
Asians prefer Clinton because they do their homework, they are practical and they know how to analyze. They are not gullible enough to buy a new vacuum cleaner just because an articulate salesman tells them to "change" their vacuum.
Research the U.S. Census and election results in advanced places like California, New York and Massachusetts and see who the people voted for!
Obama voters are mostly poor black people. Republicans are supporting Obama to get the Democratic nomination because they know that in the end, IT'S RACISM that will prevent Obama from winning in November.
IT'S A POLITICAL TACTIC BY THE REPUBLICANS YOU FREAKIN IDIOTIC OBAMA SUPPORTERS.
Dude, your taking about how educated and thorough Asians are, yet you're typing some bullshit conspiracy laden nonsense about how the GOP are putting the fix in for Obama, so they can beat him the general election. You need mental help is you actually belief that! They might be able to fix a close election like the 2000 election in Florida. However, this notion that they can fix state result after state result is ridiculous. This crap eviscerates any bit of intellectual credibility you have.
//Dude, your taking about how educated and thorough Asians are, yet you're typing some bullshit conspiracy//
beatkidjay, you are racist. just because someone believes in conspiracy theory doesn't mean you should discredit the whole asian race.
in terms of undermining someone's credibility, a person who cannot differentiate you're and your should really pick up a grammar book before criticizing others.
That's not what I said. Get you act and reading comprehension together sir!
Ryebosco, has went on numerous tangents about the Asian community being to "intelligent" to fall for Obama's "feel good" campaign strategy. He then turns around and gives some "asinine" theory, about some nefarious GOP set up and it's really only poor blacks and the uneducated voting for Obama. Who's the racist now? Statistics show Hillary's white base is less educated and affluent. Other minorities, I'm not sure.
So Obama supporter are idiotic. Hillary Clinton has voted for the Iraq War and then approved the prelimary push to possibly invade Iran. She is a hawk and many Americans have had enough of that bullshyt. Obama is the only candidate with a chance to win (unlike Paul or Kucinich). People don't believe Hillary will get out of Iraq right away and her voting record suppports that line of thinking.
I'm from NYC and I work on Wall Street. I have a B.A in Business and I support Obama. Now What?
dude, invading Iraq is just part of the strategic plan for national security. the plan turns out to be a miscalculated plan, but we already destroyed their political framework, so it is our obligation to finish the job, or else we'll just create more enemies in the future
Finish the job. C'mon. Our economy is crumbling before our eyes and people still have the nerve to regurgitate, that FOX News drivel about finishing off the enemy. History lesson, look act the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. That has been going on since 1948. That's our future, if we continue to try to "colonize" other countries. The white power structure's need to be in control of the other nations, will be our downfall. Barack as a Black man, will think twice about playing the imperialist role.
Well let's hope Barack doesn't play the imperalist role as we need as many allies as possible, we don't need to be starting anymore wars. Also what is this notion people are fearful of a black president. How is it South Africa already has two,Liberia has a African female president and some city in Ireland has an African mayor, come on now Ireland? Where is America at? Also doesn't Barack have Asian ancestry considering his stepfather is from Indonesia?
"Barak as a Black man, will think twice about playing the imperialist role."?
Hi beat, this is another testimony to the reality, regardless of who we are or how educated we are or how old we are, there are stereotypes and racism within all of us.
I'm usually more verbose, but I should have clarified the difference between Black and African-American. Condi Rice is an African-American, but she's not Black. "Black" is a state of mind. Many dark skinned Latinos will say "I'm not Black, I'm Dominican or Cuban", when they look like Wesley Snipes' twin brother. Condi doesn't identify with Blacks. She has bought into this colorless, hue-man race nonsense, that the status quo promotes to keep power consolidated amongst affluent, white males.
I think I did. Obviously, someone who has the handle "angryazianman" and defends the honor of his people as you do, should off all people understand. I'm sure you know of Asians directly or indirectly, who are whitewashed and seem to distance themselves from their heritage to assimilate. Reminds me of the Uncle Toms, who defended Michael Richards and Imus in my community, for white approval. That is what I mean. I speak truth thru my eyes as a Black man. I'm not lying to make others feel good.
So Obama supporters are idiotic. Hillary Clinton has voted for the Iraq War and then approved the prelimary push to possibly invade Iran. She is a hawk and many Americans have had enough of that bullshyt. Obama is the only candidate with a chance to win (unlike Paul or Kucinich) who will end the war. Hillary will get out of Iraq right away and her voting record suppports that line of thinking.
I'm from NYC and I work on Wall Street. I have a B.A in Business and I support Obama. Now What?
//I'm from NYC and I work on Wall Street. I have a B.A in Business and I support Obama. Now What?//
does that give you more credibility? stop using classism to strengthen your imbecile and illogical arguments. judging people by their ascribed or achieved status is ignorant. you might as well tell us what car you drive and what type of cologne you wear.
You seem to have problem with following this "entire" thread. You're one of these people who don't read the entire thread and then post a misguided, angst ridden comment based on incomplete information.
Ryebosco, continues to say Obama supporters are POOR and UNEDUCATED. That is why I mentioned my background. Please stop being the "angry asian man" and be the "sensible asian man". Jeeesh!
How are my argument illogical and imbecile sir? You've said nothing of merit on this entire thread.
Asians prefer Clinton because they do their homework, they are practical and they know how to analyze.
How much homework have Asians done? Also what exactly do Asians think Hillary will do for them, will she appoint an all Asian Cabinet,I doubt it I believe her stance will be well known and how will Asians feel if she decides to go to war with Iran, China maybe North Korea how will they feel then? did her husband ever suggest an Asian American judge to the Supreme Court?
Thank you, someone who really is informed. You're making an assessment based on real information, not bogus racial and media conspiracies. Bill Clinton signed NAFTA into existence, which sent hundreds of thousands of jobs out of this country overseas. Wonder where the First Lady was when he was signing that, since people wanna act like she was his co-President. Hillary mainly caters to upstate New Yorkers and only comes around the poor minority communities with Al Sharpton around election time.
Research your vote: search "Mena Arkansas", and try not to puke about Hillary's work for the Arkansas Development Finance Authority laundering Barry Seal's drug money in Mena.
Forget what the promise-- Bill delivered nothing but Bush's NAFTA, and American decline!
"Because Gary Tuchman, and most of CNN anchorman, are major supporters of Obama, they wanted to spin and discredit the Asian American support for Hillary." -Agreed.
"The simply regurgitate what is happening without investigation and tailor their stories to cause controversy and get ratings." -Agreed.
Ask these people how they feel about politics as a whole. Ethnic values and upbringing will play a role when there is general apathy about the overall political situation.
Do I think that this prejudice to change is insurmountable? No. will it make a difference in the polls when people are encouraged to get out there and vote regardless of what they think of the candidates' policies? Definitely.
FWIW, in a poll of 200 random students at Stanford, Obama received 94% of the Asian vote.
I consider "educated" as someone who graduated already with a stable job and can analyze the realities and recognize inspirational bullshits with little track record.
200 Asians voted for Obama? THAT'S FUCKING EMBARRASSING. Is it because it's "cool" to vote for Obama? Because he's moving? Because he lifts your spririt? God that makes me sick. You might as well have gone to an all black church to prove your point. (Use the U.S. Census and California demographic results, it's more scientific :)
You said Obama won't win because of racism, but read some of your own comments! To me, the notion, that because he gives great speeches, he has no concrete agenda is misguided. Do you know Hillary's universal health care package will make payroll deductions mandatory if you're uninsured. Say if you can't afford it. Obama's plan is similar, but he doesn't force it on the uninsured like Hillary. She will also keep us in Iraq, which will further increase the deficit and defund domestic programs.
Yes, I stand by my observation. Racism will be the downfall of Obama in November if he were the Dem nominee.
As far as what Obama, Clinton & McCain are promising regarding healthcare, I honestly have to say I don't believe any of them until a bill is presented in DC; so that's a toss up.
yeah the asians can't trust candidate who is not white. i do want to make distinction between americans originating between south asia(india, bangladesh...) and the far east (china, vietnam...). the far rast asian are less progressive parlty due to culture, partly due to lack of democracy back home and a lot to do just to do other people's different features which they cannot trust.
There are plenty of Asian Obama supporters. They went out and found the stupidest Asians they could find. If the situation was reversed, they would have a segment about how Asians are sexist. CNN lost their credibility long ago when they chose to cover Anna Nicole, Paris Hilton, Britney, Michael Jackson, etc. instead of actual news. The simply regurgitate what is happening without investigation and tailor their stories to cause controversy and get ratings.
It was the worst segment ever. This guy could've easily gone to UCLA, USC, University of Washington, or any other places that have Asians who could speak English. Because Gary Tuchman, and most of CNN anchorman, are major supporters of Obama, they wanted to spin and discredit the Asian American support for Hillary.
Hillary Clinton has rode her husband's coattails into the Senate w/o experience and she's trying to ride them into the White House. Barack Obama is a 100% self made man. He doesn't have the luxury of having a popular ex-President by his side.
I'll be gullible. Sen. Obama has gotten to where he is today, by the sweat of his own brow. He isn't using someone else's mojo to propel him further.
If she was never married to Bill, would she be a US Senator and Presidential candidate? Be honest sir.
I'll agree Oprah did give him a good start, but he was a front runner long before Oprah. It's been a two person race long before Oprah. He became State Senator, US Senator and Presidential front runner before Oprah. Ms. Winfrey can only do but so much. Her viewers didn't even support that movie of her's "Beloved" years ago, so they aren't zombies for Oprah, they just value her opinion.
However, I'm man enough to admit, the Iowa win did get him off to a great start and Oprah was a part of that.
I thought I'd revisit this thread when Obama won the Presidency. That't why I stopped arguing with you 7 months ago. Well, it seems racism didn't bring Obama down and with the help of ALL nationalities in America, he is our country's next President. I guess your racial theories were flawed sir!
I hope he can help unify this country and restore it to it's former greatness.

A lot of them don't understand English anyway so it comes as no surprise that they are going to make their decision based on appearance rather than any specific policies Obama may have.
How can you make that assumption on the basis of this video?

Wow this is the worst report I seen for CNN, they got a bunch of numbers and statistic and base this stupid racist theory on that. Then they probably ask 40 Asian guys to get the one guy who talked about Japanese not liking change. Which is a totally flawed theory seeing how Hilary is a WOMEN, never had a women for president. Why can't Asians vote without it being race related? Why not ask them why they voting for Hilary. Instead of showing us they want Hilary then tell us what to think about it

It seems to be a fucking hype amongst the immigrants to conserve about voting for her because of her experience and because of Obama's racial ethnicity. Obama ftw now. I have no choice.
kmusic 3 years ago
I don't think she has more years in senate (state and U.S. combined) than Obama did. They must be counting her years as first lady in the white house and first lady of Arkansas but....what is more important is their voting records and whether they have been consistent and whether people agree what they want to do for the country.
dealmaker007 3 years ago
The immigrant generation of Asians are ignorant to vote for Clinton. I personally prefer Ron Paul, but we all know he isn't an option anymore. I choose Obama any day over Clinton. The older generations of Asians have no clue what they are getting into. I mostly hear amongst the older immigrant Asians reason that Clinton has more experience, so they prefer her. Word? Perhaps, but other than that I can sadly say that my people are DUMB AS FUCK TO VOTE FOR HER!!.
kmusic 3 years ago

You keep saying speeches, but Hillary doesn't do anything but talk about being able to lead on Day 1 and 35 yrs of imaginary experience.
beatkidjay 3 years ago
Let's all wait and see who wins in November.
In November when voters have had enough time to assess what's best for America, the voters will vote for experience.
ryebosco 4 years ago
Rye do you think Hillary Rodham Clinton is a poor person who do you think she represents, my friend she is an elitist like most politicians? I thought everybody had figured that out.
tanio12 4 years ago
Hi Tan, you're right, as I already said, all politicians are alike, Hillary included. The reason y I'm in this blog is to explain that this election year (if Obama continues to be in the picture) will be about Race. Racism will prevent Obama from becoming president. This report is so fucked up that the media does not even report as to why over 80% of blacks thus far voted for Obama--don't tell me it had nothing to do with race. RACISM IS OBAMA'S DOWNFALL.
ryebosco 4 years ago
Yeah, they'll vote for John "100 years in Iraq" McCain and his warmonger buddies Lieberman and Giuliani. Yeah Sure!
You sound like some H.R person. I've been at my job for 3 yrs. I work with people who have been there for 20+ yrs and I outperform them. Experience is necessary, but the person's work ethic and character is more important. Obama is right. You want these same experienced folks, that have been ruining the country. Experienced in starting wars and taking lobbyist money. I'll Pass!
beatkidjay 4 years ago
What a BS piece. Didn't do his research, obviously. Funny, I just congratulated my friend, who is an immigrant from Vietnam, on being elected a delegate for McCain this past Tues, Feb. 12. He's part of that Asian immigrant group that is supposed to support Hillary b/c they enjoyed prosperity during the 90s under Clinton, according to this report. Hmmm. I used to support Obama, until I got my head out of my ass and looked at his stance on the ISSUES. Race has nothing to do w/ it.
avon96734 4 years ago
Aside from Iraq, what is the difference in their domestic agenda? Please elaborate sir. No one has been able to answer this convincingly.
She's more experienced and more issue oriented. Huh!! Barack wants to give teenagers the chance to attend college for free, by working in public service. Hilary's plan is similar. They both want universal healthcare, but Hillary is selling a dream saying 100% of Americans will be insured. B.S! Barack has a buy-in plan, which is more realistic w/o mandates.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
Hillary b/c they enjoyed prosperity during the 90s under Clinton, according to this report.
However that is Bill Clinton not Hillary, there is no gurantee that Hillary will bring prosperity back, also what is her stance on foreign diplomacy and what is her stance on getting America better prepared to compete in the world.
tanio12 4 years ago

I respect people who acknowledge there is racism in the U.S.A. Most people try to pretend it doesn't exist and when it does it's abhorrent behavior. This is a mentality, unfortuntely all to common amongst immigrants.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
Your impression of a Deli should not generalize to the whole Asian population. I am an Asian male and I do have good impressions of many Afrian Americans, especially colleagus in the past and present. The reason that Asians didn't support Obama is mainly to do with his lack of commitment to support equal rights for Asian American, which as a group is the most discriminated population in this country. Just check how many judges are asian comparing to the percentage of asian lawyers.
typecheck 4 years ago 4
I just gave an example of the most glaring example I've experienced. Trust me, I and most of my friends, have more incidents than we can count. Youtube doesn't give you unlimited space to write folks.
Another thing, I never said ALL Asian were racist, but out of all so-called minorities, many blacks tend to feel Asians tend to be the most racist towards blacks. I'm black and people say blacks commit the most crime, percentage wise. Unfortunately, they're right. Denial is the enemy of change!
beatkidjay 4 years ago
Ask yourself, how would your parents or your Asian friends' parents feel, if you or them brought home an African-American and announced you were engaged? I thought so!
People like to say they aren't racist or their community isn't either, but let you bring some black man or woman home to meet the parents, immediately the veil has lifted off the bullshit and propaganda.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
so, in a nutshell, you're saying asians are the most racist group in america? what about white people? blacks? you need to stop generalizing us because you're just portraying yourself as a ignorant bigot. asians are not the one making racial jokes about everyone and think we can get away with it by using the race or "oh i didn't know it'd hurt you" card. check out hot 97 tsunami song or hip hop's perpetual use of "chink". what about eddie murphy playing yellow face?
angryazianman 4 years ago 3
Towards Blacks, kinda sorta! I feel they hold whites and black in a diametrically opposing viewpoint. Whites tend to be elevated as being the most beautiful and important, whereas blacks have been looked at as the most unattractive and least important. They did a really good episode on something like this on "Law & Order SVU", about a self-hating biracial guy (black/asian), who raped Asian women because of years of being rejected and treated as an outsider in the immigrant Asian community.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
I think Miss Jones should have been fired. She called MTA Union President Roger Toussaint, who's a black Trinidadian a "dumb West Indian". He led a transit strike before the 2006 Christmas season, that paralyzed NYC.
As far as Eddie playing an old Asian man in Norbit, please! He played an old Jewish guy in "Coming To America". There was a Japanese female rap group who wore blackface and dreadlock wigs. I see that shyt every Halloween in NYC, but I don't see Blacks doing white/yellow face.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
blackface/yellowface is wrong, period. it shows lack of racial and cultural sensitivity. Using examples of Asians playing blackface to remedy Eddie's yellowface does not make yellowface/blackface right. To be honest yellowface and blackface is more relevant than we think. Geisha outfits and hip hop clothes are covert examples.
angryazianman 4 years ago
I don't agree with anyone making racist jokes, because I sure don't like it when it's done to me. However, blacks who patronize Asian businesses in our communities are routinely treated poorly. I know some Asian merchants in my area that are cool as hell, but most seem to just tolerate the Blacks who patronize their businesses.
Listen many rappers have a slave mentality. They call themselves ni@@as, glorify crime sand violence and you expect them not to make other ignorant comments. C'mon!
beatkidjay 4 years ago
ignorance and racism are two separate issues. a person who is ignorant have a higher tendency to be racist, but a racist person does not have to be ignorant. when rappers use "chink" or "thoia thoing" to describe or mock asians, it is inherently racist. Please do not downplay racism towards Asians.
angryazianman 4 years ago

Both of these issues are prominent, but aren't the end all, be all, like you're trying to make it.

Why does Hillary have more experience?

However, this notion that they can fix state result after state result is ridiculous. This crap eviscerates any bit of intellectual credibility you have.

He then turns around and gives some "asinine" theory, about some nefarious GOP set up and it's really only poor blacks and the uneducated voting for Obama. Who's the racist now? Statistics show Hillary's white base is less educated and affluent. Other minorities, I'm not sure.

The white power structure's need to be in control of the other nations, will be our downfall. Barack as a Black man, will think twice about playing the imperialist role.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
Well let's hope Barack doesn't play the imperalist role as we need as many allies as possible, we don't need to be starting anymore wars. Also what is this notion people are fearful of a black president. She has bought into this colorless, hue-man race nonsense, that the status quo promotes to keep power consolidated amongst affluent, white males.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
can you elaborate on the "black" state of mind?
angryazianman 4 years ago
I think I did. Obviously, someone who has the handle "angryazianman" and defends the honor of his people as you do, should off all people understand. I'm sure you know of Asians directly or indirectly, who are whitewashed and seem to distance themselves from their heritage to assimilate. Reminds me of the Uncle Toms, who defended Michael Richards and Imus in my community, for white approval. That is what I mean. I speak truth thru my eyes as a Black man. I'm not lying to make others feel good.

Now What?

does that give you more credibility? stop using classism to strengthen your imbecile and illogical arguments. judging people by their ascribed or achieved status is ignorant. you might as well tell us what car you drive and what type of cologne you wear.

Hillary mainly caters to upstate New Yorkers and only comes around the poor minority communities with Al Sharpton around election time.

fire this reporter.

Research your vote: search "Mena Arkansas", and try not to puke about Hillary's work for the Arkansas Development Finance Authority laundering Barry Seal's drug money in Mena.
Forget what the promise-- Bill delivered nothing but Bush's NAFTA, and American decline!

My boyfriend is black, I am all for black and gay rights.
But I do hear few Chinese said they are afraid once there's a black president, black community would be too proud and surpress Chinese community.
I don't have comments on what they said, but that's what they said.

this reporter seriously needs to get a life.
CNN should not have aired that segment.

Definitely.
FWIW, in a poll of 200 random students at Stanford, Obama received 94% of the Asian vote.
liqkuidazn 4 years ago
I consider "educated" as someone who graduated already with a stable job and can analyze the realities and recognize inspirational bullshits with little track record.
200 Asians voted for Obama? THAT'S FUCKING EMBARRASSING. Is it because it's "cool" to vote for Obama? Because he's moving? Because he lifts your spririt? God that makes me sick. You might as well have gone to an all black church to prove your point. (Use the U.S. Census and California demographic results, it's more scientific :)
ryebosco 4 years ago
OOOPs, sorry, I meant to write 94% of 200...
Who did you vote for by the way :)
ryebosco 4 years ago
You said Obama won't win because of racism, but read some of your own comments! To me, the notion, that because he gives great speeches, he has no concrete agenda is misguided. Do you know Hillary's universal health care package will make payroll deductions mandatory if you're uninsured. Say if you can't afford it. Obama's plan is similar, but he doesn't force it on the uninsured like Hillary. She will also keep us in Iraq, which will further increase the deficit and defund domestic programs.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
Hi again beat! :)

Do U even know enough to make that generalization about East Asians or Southeast Asia?
THE MOST HORRIBLE AND DEPLORABLE SLUM IS IN INDIA.
Just ask yourself or anybody from Asia where they want to retire, I haven't found anybody say, "Oh boy, I'm gonna retire in India."
TENK U, GUDBAY, COME AGIN

People from India even provide walking tours of their slums. AND THAT'S PROGRESSIVE?

Asians 4 OBAMA unite! I know you're out there, prove CNN wrong
starone091705 4 years ago
This is an egregious and insidious report. CNN is officially the anti-asian network.
cornellbobo 4 years ago

THANK GOD, I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED THAT THE MEDIA IS MANIPULATING HOW PEOPLE THINK/VOTE IN FAVOR OF OBAMA.
I also hate how the media keeps saying, "Obama voters are affluent and educated." As if Asians are stupid and poor?
Obama voters are deluded and gullible. Probably worse than Bush voters.
Get this straight fucking media and the rest:
$60,000 is the Asian median Income
Most Asians are degree holders compared to other ethnic groups. And they support Clinton.
ryebosco 4 years ago 2
Hillary Clinton has rode her husband's coattails into the Senate w/o experience and she's trying to ride them into the White House. Barack Obama is a 100% self made man. He doesn't have the luxury of having a popular ex-President by his side.
I'll be gullible. Sen. Obama has gotten to where he is today, by the sweat of his own brow. He isn't using someone else's mojo to propel him further.
If she was never married to Bill, would she be a US Senator and Presidential candidate? Be honest sir.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
"If she was never married to Bill, would she be a US Senator and Presidential candidate? Be honest sir."
Hi beatkidjay! You should ask New Yorkers that. With all due respect, the same could be asked of Obama:
If Oprah Winfrey had not stepped in to promote Obama, would he have gotten the caucus support in Iowa? Be honest beatkidjay.
:) I honestly believe racism will bring Obama down. It's alive and well. (Racism, regardless of ethnicity, education or economic status is within us.)
ryebosco 4 years ago
I'll agree Oprah did give him a good start, but he was a front runner long before Oprah. It's been a two person race long before Oprah. He became State Senator, US Senator and Presidential front runner before Oprah. Ms. Winfrey can only do but so much. Her viewers didn't even support that movie of her's "Beloved" years ago, so they aren't zombies for Oprah, they just value her opinion.
However, I'm man enough to admit, the Iowa win did get him off to a great start and Oprah was a part of that.
beatkidjay 4 years ago
I thought I'd revisit this thread when Obama won the Presidency. That't why I stopped arguing with you 7 months ago. Well, it seems racism didn't bring Obama down and with the help of ALL nationalities in America, he is our country's next President. I guess your racial theories were flawed sir!
I hope he can help unify this country and restore it to it's former greatness.
Unfortunately, the monied elite will fight him tooth and nail with Republicans, to maintain the status quo.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
A lot of them don't understand English anyway so it comes as no surprise that they are going to make their decision based on appearance rather than any specific policies Obama may have.
