Moore failed to get to the bottom of the issue of socialized health care. The controlled substances act is mandated health care. The CSA is also the reason the pharmas can screw the US population forever. It made us all whores, and the doctors are the pimps. We know the drug laws are just morals of one group imposed upon everyone. Why can you buy rat poison over the counter, but you have to pay off a doctor for a prescription, and show ID to get the antidote (vitamin K)? This country's fukd.
Indeed. Ephedra is another example. Despite the media hysteria, there was never even a single instance of a person being harmed by taking it. Yet they banned it. However, I can go to the MD and get drugs for my kids that come with warning labels longer than my arm.
Thanks for that. I have a lack of understanding when it comes to the root of healthcare issues and certainly am not conversant yet. I've only read some blogs from Campaign for Liberty as well as Ron Paul's books but I need to know how to explain WHY the healthcare system is broken. Your post will lead me in the right direction.
its so like us north americans to pit the little guys against each other. Wether you like Mike Moore or not, the attention he has bought to the failed heath care system and distructive government polices has had a substancial positive impact. um, The only government intervention regarding healthcare is Bush's veto of child healthcare and military heathcare benefits. There are BETTER solutions out there and Moore's movies are helping bring about dialogue

I have a lot of respect for Moore's good intentions. I think with Ron Paul, you would be able to go anywhere you want for health care. USA simply does not have good health care, it's so bureaucratized that most "health care" consists of paperwork. The army sends their wounded to German hospitals when possible. USA dentists really suck! did I say SUCK! $500 for a root canal and some JB weld equivalent on top of it.

If Ron Paul would back off from his fundmentalist approach to the Constitution he might get more support. Hitler didn't believe it was the resposibility of the German government to take care of mentally retarted people and the handicapped: he exterminated them. Where does Ron Paul stand on caring for unfortunate people who need assistance?
Oh my - fundamentalist approach to the Constitution? Is that more or less dangerous than Islamic Fundamentalism? Kudos on the Hitler reference as well.
People take care of people. They form organizations that take care of others.
Yes We really are a Good Will Nation & I mean that N the good sence of the term. We were more prosperous & generous. "We the people" gave our best in worst of times.
Shelters for the poor were run on the donations of "We the people" then Govnmnt got in it & the quality of shelters declined & our giving decreased; as it was forced thru taxation, & we stopped being the humanitarians we used 2 be & its boils down to lack of prosperity thru taxation.

I care for my mother who's 100% disabled. I am 30% disabled. All I see for health care is a medicine plan which gives me greatly reduced cost of meds which when you do the math, is the same that I could have bought it from Canadadian Pharmacy. Every other bit of Health Care I see for her is a parade of health care leeches milking the government and doing NOTHING.

u mean like I have to wait 6 months to a year 2 have immanently important surgery. Its funny how many people talk about Canada's free pills, also funny how many people DONT talk about the #'s of people trailing to the US to have surgery's performed that they would have otherwise died waiting for at the hands of an inept bureaucracy.Same is true for many European nations. Think people! For once in your miserable lives! What sounds good isn't always so, and in this case it definitely isn't.
My friend laid in bed and cried from pain for two freaking years while waiting for a hip replacement, and it took her an additional 4 years to get approval for the procedure.
Cost controls always equal shortages. Right now, the USA is subsidizing Canada's programs.
Canada negotiates with the American pharma companies, who then charge *us* more to make up the money they lose on Canadian sales. Combined with the million or so Canadians that cross to get proper care, we are subsidizing the Canadian system to the tune of about $7 billion per year.
um, what part of canada are you from??? We dont have these problems. sure, there can be waiting lists depending on the surgery but if someone is in life and death situations they recieve care first. In the States you have to sell your house to pay for the procedure, how does that make sense?
both canada and the u.s. have serious problems with healthcare because government regulates it. in canada they do one thing much better -- if you are dying, you get treated. but everyone else, must wait months to get treated for someting you can get right away in the states. that's why canadians are coming to american hospitals for treatment. the HMO act of 1973 in the u.s. has ruined american healthcare, forcing employers to provide HMO insurance to their employees.
Michael Moore is no doubt one of the few people dumber than Bush, but I thought it was clear his response (although still the response of someone w/ no grasp of the issues) was to Chris Matthews not the person in the audience

The hatred of Ron Paul by the mainstream media is astonishing. "Ron Paul is leaving the Congress." Really, how can you hate the freedom you selfishly live with every day so much that you're willing to spread negative propaganda on the one Republican candidate willing to try to do something to fix things?
Ron Paul is Leaving the congress means he's entering the White House! Won New Hampshire and Alabama straw polls by HUGE margins! Ron Paul doesn't use his health care coverage, or his pension
Hey Socialists, Why should we give you more of our money to abuse - How about we abolish the IRS & pay our own way. I'm sure we'll care more about our own money. Or we can throw history to the wind & become just like Russia or China - They have it really great don't they!
Moore, you dog my man Ron Paul and I'll never watch another one of your movies. Moore...you're part of the problem if you blindly vote along party lines.

That was a great clip I liked it because it was natural why does Mr. Moore look so discontented with that audience member thats sad that Mikey didn't take the time to plug Ron Paul is he waiting to be dramatic or did he just lie and the audience member called him on it?
Mkiey is too simple-minded to think outside the 2 party box. There's a clip of him elsewhere saying that he refuses to even listen to Ron Paul's ideas because Ron Paul is a Republican. You can't argue with bogoted stupidity, and Moore personifies that.
Moore is a partisan, plain and simple. Otherwise he would have endorsed Nader in 2000 and 2004. Any recognition for Ron Paul might generate more interest and a possible vote for him. Moore can't handle that since all that matters for a partisan is getting your party in office. Same deal why so many in the religious right are cozying up to pro-abort adulterers like Ghouliani and Thompson
Ron Paul wont need the congressional health care, he will be President for 8 years.... then afterwards, he will enjoy very inexpensive health care that spawns from his opening of the FREE MARKET
So awesome. Isn't that crazy? The "master" at finding facts (Michael Moore) doesn't even look into Ron Paul? Is he really the master of facts or does he have his own agenda?
Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate untainted by special interests and he seems untouchable. We NEED a president who will cut the role of the federal government, revive constitutionalism and BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.
Why would he be leaving congress Chris? Even if he doesn't make the republican nomination he's still going to return to his seat. He's running two campaigns right now.
You want to know about Chris Matthews? Try google. Very interesting. Why do you think these guys work for media? Yes, we all know the Matthews Meter is broken.
Think of him as a gatekeeper. He is the self-anointed radical progressive, and the "right" paints him as such. The trick is that if you don't fall somewhere between those boundaries, you're supposedly loony.
The problem is that no one understands free markets, austrian school economics, and how huge the monetary policy issue really is.
It's not nice. It will drive the costs even higher than they are today, and it will all but kill the small bit of the free market that made the virtually all the significant medical advances in the past century. ONce the government & business got involved, development slowed and prices skyrocketed.
I'm a bit confused here. Doesn't Dr.Paul and Mr. Moore have different views on Medical insurance? As a matter of fact one wants to progress towards a free-market model, while the later demands more government involvement for medical insurance. Yet both are assimilated as knowledgable entities on the matter.
"Ron Paul already did it" was not referring to taking Moore's pledge per se, but to the question of refusing the government health care system, which Ron Paul already does.
Ron Paul refuses to take the government health care. In fact when he worked as a doctor he never took Medicaid or Medicare and instead either vastly lowered the price or worked free of charge.
As Chris Matthews says, "Ron Paul is leaving the Congress." He is exactly correct since he will be moving into the White House as President! Fight for your freedoms. Register to vote for the primaries now!!!
Like Cuban medical care? Sorry - he visited a facility for the elite. Look around YouTube, and you'll see videos of the real health care system there. I can go on and on and on...
ok cuba aint the only one....stop being railed into a dead end....nothings perfect in this world but why are people in a america needing more and more antidepressants?.....who needed anti depressant when we was all still cave men? or even in the age of the renaissance? we survived....its not needed but the markets keep pumping it into us AND our kids cause they cant sit still....THEY'RE KIDS...

Matthews is more of the same, just with a jaw twitch.

Moore, is as infleuntial as the evangists. What a dead beat after his own agenda and not for the people. Isn't that clear?

Its funny how whenever you hear a generalization about any politician you can pretty much be sure Ron Paul is the exception.

Michael Moore twists the facts, presents half-truths as facts, and ignores facts that donlt make his case.

he uses the facts that everyone else is using and not the facts the select few choose
