I forget the technical term, but I think it's called tumble recovery or break tumble. Basically you need to dash dance (left to right on your control stick) to break out of a tumble. It's very needed.

and basing my skill off a 1 month old match against the best Link on the EC (if not in the US) in a Link ditto is pretty stupid. Even if I were good at that match up (who plays Link anymore?) I'd still get raped by Skler because he's very, very good.
But I'm going to level with you, why does my Link suck? Point out my flaws so I can improve. Or go back to insulting me with no reason. Or you can not respond like you did last time. You're decisions impact the future.

at 2:47, the blue link got hit but he somehow got out of the animation where you're falling down in circles and was able to pull out an air dodge
can sum1 plz explain how to do that for me?
