As a resident of Petaluma, I was much more interested in seeing who was on the sidewalk shouting all the profanity at the police than watching the police who under extraordinarily volatile circumstances held their cool. That no one was seriously injured is a testament to their action and is to be commended.
As for the Rocks. If it continues to breed outbursts such as this then it should be closed permanently.

As a minority that lives in Petaluma all this upsets me. This ruins things for the police that are doing their job correctly. They are supposed to protect and serve. Well i guess they were doing just that protecting themselves by telling people they can record and serving up unnecessary violence. One cop did their job as it was meant to be done. And that's the K9 Officer. This shouldn't have happened the drunk people didn't help the situation though.
As a resident of Petaluma, I would agree that PPD rarely use their time productively. In any case I feel the PPD waste tax dollars parading around town looking for the tiniest of crimes to fill the monthly quota. However, if I were a cop in this situation , I certainly would not have been able to use the restraint these lawman displayed. If that were my taser, there wouldn't have been enough battery in that thing to get the job done. All of those idiots deserved a good shock!

I was born and raised in Petaluma...lived there my entire life and am truly disgusted after watching this...not by the cops however but by the way the patrons acted. All this video shows is how the patrons continually instigated the officers & I'm not even gonna lie if I were a cop I'd have knocked a couple of them on the ground, (which is probably why I'm not a cop..lol) I'm just embarrassed watching this knowing these people are from my hometown.

I didn't see any police brutality. The man climbed on a speaker and refused to get down. The club bouncers were removing him and when he resisted, the bouncers used their TASERs, the police did not use a TASER. A small amount of methamphetamine was found on the man. *SHOCK*
As for the girl, if you interfere with the police doing their job, you get arrested. A bunch of drunken people yelling obscenities do not help calm the situation. The person responsible is the man arrested, he caused it all.

I lived in Petaluma for years, and growing up , driving a older "muscle car" was pulled over many times for reasons as silly as, "I noticed your tires were a little bald."

As a minority that lives in Petaluma all this upsets me. This ruins things for the police that are doing their job correctly. They are supposed to protect and serve. Well i guess they were doing just that protecting themselves by telling people they can record and serving up unnecessary violence. One cop did their job as it was meant to be done. As a resident of Petaluma, I would agree that PPD rarely use their time productively. In any case I feel the PPD waste tax dollars parading around town looking for the tiniest of crimes to fill the monthly quota. However, if I were a cop in this situation , I certainly would not have been able to use the restraint these lawman displayed. I didn't see any police brutality. The man climbed on a speaker and refused to get down. The club bouncers were removing him and when he resisted, the bouncers used their TASERs, the police did not use a TASER. A small amount of methamphetamine was found on the man. *SHOCK*

Sorry to offend you but generally speaking i have little tolerance for the large groups of drunk guys (usually) who parade around petaluma looking for a quick fuck..or to "fight a faggot"...i have seen former friends pull shit like this countless times. I do not side with the police ever...but i would have pepper sprayed all those people just to get them away from me...smart i didn't choose a career 2 b a cop

These "patrons" were simply trying to enjoy a classy night of sipping cocktails and dancing, and the big, bad, Petaluma cops came in, started tazin' errbody, hogtying 100 lb. women who *might be pregnant (let's not ask why the hell she was in a bar..??), and running innocents over with their squad cars (which incidentally were right in the middle of a screaming, drunken mob...and had their lights blaring). Totally. It's the cops' fault? Effin' d-bags.

the rocks is the SKETCHEST place in petaluma.!!! just dont go there unless you wanna get slit by a broken wine bottle (happened about a month ago), cheap shotted or jumped up by some thugs, shot with a bean bag gun ON THANKSGIVING or tazed by the police (not the first time this has happened).... Especially with tazers. the 100lb girl they were tazing was no match for the 6 fullsized "peace officers" & there trained German Shepard. I live out of town, but visit often, and this a classic display of some loud mouth, disrespectful, small town trash that frequent bars after they sell their food stamps in order to buy booze, cigarettes, meth etc. this is a video to show your grandkids someday, they sure would be proud. It must be embarrassing when the cops know you by first name, and you probably get arrested for the same things over and over again.

Being drunk and being angry are two different things. I am completely sober and those cops deserve all the comments those "drunk" people are yelling at them. These people have every right to be angry for what they are witnessing. After what happened to Oscar Grant, the tension between policemen and young people is deservingly high.

lol...everyone that was not there and watch this have no clue. Your talking about 100 people in the middle of a moving and inspiring show and it gets an extreme turn in events...started from the bouncers over aggressively accessing a drunk guy and making him leave with their violent escorting. Everyone got enraged of coarse, just like when Rodney King was beat by police. The Rocks establishment is fully to blame for this whole thing.
