you don´t need to kill the troopers. when you put them to zzz you have enough time to use the MKIII to search your sourrandings and even to remove the weapons from them! advanced through the scenario using always the MKIII. the troopers come always in pairs. i´ve play the entire game this weak and is good :) to see that I used the same strategy without watching any kind of solutions. killing the geekos only if you want more drebins points! an excellent game! :)

But if you mean the Outer Haven soldiers, then no, they can't see you due to the OctoCamo assuming the look and texture of the floor, effectively preventing Snake from being seen so easily. However, if he doesn't wear the FaceCamo, the OctoCamo won't do much.

I usually get dont care about getting discovered on this level. This is the last of any game play and its more fun if you go rambo. Kill anything that comes yr way. When else can you use any drebin points?

No you douchebag, I sneaked the first time around, and then went Rambo after I had mastered the sneaking technique. Yes MGS is all about sneaking but you also have the option to kill every enemy that comes your way I enjoy both methods. May be you are just too much of a douche to try new things.

If you're talking about the Gekkos, they can see you, regardless of how well you've blended in with the surroundings, or if you even turned invisible. This is due to their heat sensors, but even then, they still can't see you if you're hiding behind something. Unless you're hiding behind something close to them and can see Snake from their height, then that's a whole different story.

the secret for me on big boss hard is knock out every single FROG with the tranq then kill them.. find some good hiding spots along the way.. don't get impatient... kill the gekko with the rail gun if you want.. i climbed a ladder and killed it with a grenade launcher.. make sure this is done in caution or else more will come

It may be a great game, but this level is the definition of frustration. Once you get alert your fucked and when I say fucked, I mean fucked. I can't get past it, but the video is helping me a bit. They keep coming and once again, if you get caught, you're fucked!

At The Boss Extreme Difficulty, I have actually managed to live through an alert phase in this area.

There are quite a few hiding places. You just have to kill any haven trooper that may have seen you first. Then the alert phase goes back to a caution phase.

You might also be able to hide without having to kill (if you're quick enough and no trooper sees you) and that will eventually cancel the alert phase.

The problem is when I get to the door. Either a shitload of troops are shooting at me or the Gecko are hitting me. And on top of that, I only have 2 Rations. So it's really hard and very frustrating. I'm going to try to run and gun with the Grenade Launcher. Let's see how this goes.

@Ultrareallism I beat this level on an alert phase, you just have to equip the right weapons. I didn't have any objects to heal or anything either, just gotta be patient, crouch down so ur life regenerates slowly and use the SolidEye to see if anyone's coming towards you. the Rail Gun is definetely a great choice in this level especially once you get halfway. I got the alert right from the beginning to see if i could do it and it definetely took me longer than this video but it was epic lol

Nine times out of ten, an alert phase will result. Not something you want if you're doing a no alert playthrough.
