  • 5 MORE!

  • terrible

  • is that a round house kick isnt that a side kick

  • left heel/ hamstring should be pointing at target when you connect with the right shin. just saying, incase you wanted more power in the kick.

  • fail..

  • he drops his hand everytime a kicking 101 no no

  • He is relaxed on his heels. He should be springing on the balls of his feet.

  • ....faggot

  • the hop generates more power i think but it also telegraphs ur kick so most of the time kickboxers will use the telegraph against their oponet

  • this guy looks like hes only trained for a month, poor form.

but any one can get better if u stick to it and practice.

  • in thailand they teach u 2 step straight into ur target as much as posible steppin at a 45 degree angle sets up a strong left straight after u though the right kick put it down immediatly throw ur left straight then a right switch kick 2 put u back in ur right hande fight stance

  • weak

  • "He doesn't HAVE to do anything. Ur supposed to modify kicks depending on circumstance. People usually hop out on their foot when they need more power or need to kick higher. For a normal kick you'd rotate your ground foot while the kick is being delivered."

The hop generates more power? How? The kick isn't going foreward it's a roundhouse.

  • The "hop" in question would be at 45 degrees to the target, thats how it would generate power, driving the kick and all the fighters body weight through the target.

  • Possibly kinetic energy driver from you leg through?

Lol i cant remember how it works but it works for me ding a useuall roundhouse hurts enough but doing a hopup and doing seems to draw kinetic energy or somesort?

  • You should never post a technique video from a technique, that you aren't able to do. But at least he uses his shin

  • Doesn't he have to turn his left foot out before delivering his kick instead of hopping it out as the kick is delivered?

  • The guy is practiging a bad technique. Hence, he will get better at kicking bad. His fighting stance is way of balance. He is weighting only his back leg, and he locks his knee. All he needs to do is weighting both legs equaly, and maintain both knees slightly bent.

  • please, say you're a noob. I'm looking up real fighting and I get this. It's not muay thai and it's poor technique. Say you're a rookie trying muay thai so I doin't have to watch this.

  • You know, if you were to actually read the description of the video (I highly suggest you do that), you'd have your answer.

  • sorry, you are clearly working and getting better. Keep up the good work.

  • haha thats awesome but yea you really DO need more practice but it looks alrite from this just more time and youll be an ace kicker haha

  • the sandbag looks like a dildo lol!!

  • He should train volleyball

  • he needs more balance when he kicks..

  • his problem is when he kicks he drops his right arm. when kicking you should extend your arm in front of you that you can defend yourself and keep your balance

  • Not exactly correct. It is acceptable, and commonly practiced to swing out the same arm as the kicking leg and cover your face with your other hand, similar to what he is doing.

  • Hey pro, how do you kick with a right leg and not drop your right hand? You are retarded. I hope in the last 6 months since you posted this you have learned how to kick.

  • 5 more? needs to be 1,000 more

  • just wondrin, why do i most of the time see muay thai practicioners wearing only one ankle/instep/shin guards?

  • They are ankle supports. As beginners, we normally wear them on both ankles as we strengthen ourselves to being on our toes. As you build the strength, you usually only wear them if you have an ankle that's bothering you, because its real easy to strain your ankle if you accidentally kick your target wrong.

  • i see, thanx

  • @KraZKaiL i use anklets simply for style.lol. i usedto wear shin gaurds for protection but over time my shins became harder and now i dont use them

  • looked like he was spinning on his heel instead of the ball of his foot. hes a beginner right?

  • yes

  • Wow what abad representation of muay thai technique. The title should say guy kicking on Thai bag.

  • Well, the description basically does say it all..... But give the guy a break, almost all of us started out looking that bad, if not worse!

  • Sure, but why post a video of yourself performing techniques you've not yet mastered? Not to put the guy down, I'm just curious why so many people post martial arts videos of themselves performing techniques so poorly.

  • I understand what you're saying, but the guy kicking isn't the one who posted the video. I'm the one who posted the video. This video was put here for the benefit of the guys in the class I coach to help them recognize common mistakes they're making...

  • Are you the guy who taped this? The voice in the background? Is the guy in the video one of your students?

  • Yes & yes

  • Cool. Where do you train? I train at the Wat in NYC with Phil Nurse.

  • I coach for Team Lloyd Irvin in Arlington, VA. My wife fought Kru Phil Nurse's girlfriend in a MT match back in 2000. Small world, huh?

  • Very small world! Drop me a line next time you're coming up to NY?

  • lol watta lankey cunt

  • yeah the title says muay thai not tae kwon doe

and in muay thai they bring the hand down to generate more power sacrificing their guard for a lil teeeny inch of a second

  • another thing is that his right hand is not guarding his face while he is kicking, it drops as he starts the kick (:

Bad thing to do if you're figting one with a little experience (:

  • One of the key things I showed this guy was how his range was wrong because of his footwork. He was stepping towards the bag rather than stepping off at a 45 degree angle. Therefore, he was "crowding" the bag which didn't leave him the room to rotate, and he was off-balance.

  • yeah he's not on the ball of his foot. it would probably give him better balance and rotation.

  • keep kicking the bag dude that iam gonna say.

  • its all in the hips

  • If I recall, that guy is something like 6'3"

  • how tall are you?

  • yea its obvious, he's doin 2 things wrong. Firstly; not pivoting and spinning through high on the ball of the front foot, secondly; not flipping his hips over.

    Step wiv the front foot,

    twist on through

    roll the hips over

    n smash that fool

    (Actually just made that up)
