Let's face it. As bad as this movie is (and it IS bad...no, REALLY bad, no question about it), the only saving grace about the film is Raul Julia's performance as Bison. He did it for his kids since he was very sick and let's face it, you can definitely tell he was having fun with the role. Raul Julia singlehandledly transformed this terrible film into a "So bad, it's good" picture. R.I.P Raul, we hated this movie, bu loved your performance.

Van Damme was originally, selected to star as Johnny Cage in the 1995 "Mortal Kombat" film, but the character was probably too small for him to play. I just think that Raul Julia and Van Damme were the only actor who "got it", who realised that the script wasn't meant to be taken with a straight face.
