judging from your recipe i'd suggest making a tomato compote rather than using straight paste which might be a tad strong. I'd be suggesting cooking the following to use as the tomato sauce: olive oil 12 fresh tomatoes small tub of tomato paste fresh oregano fresh basil salt pepper sundried tomatoes (optional) Add everything except the herbs and pepper into a pot. Simmer. Remember to add a fair bit of salt as you want to draw the moisture out of the tomatoes. Add herbs and pepper. Blitz. done.

What could you make that is like devon rolled up with patato in side but a proper meal. eg ham, melted cheese, patato, tomato paste and a tortilla wrap.
To all the people asking if they can use potato instead of butternut pumpkin... Why would you do that? Grow up! Eat some pumpkin! It's delicious and it's good for you! Also, the flavour would be really strange if you used potato. If anything, replace it with spinach. Om nom nom.

Love cannelloni! I guess the argument about pumpkin vs squash depends on the country you hail from. Pumpkin-squash-gourd all belong to the same family. In the US they usually say that pumpkins are for carving, squashes are for cooking and gourds are for looking at :)

Had to laugh when in Beverly Hills at the Pavillion grocery store I was so excited to see this butternut pumpkin sitting on its own on a shelf, I felt so sorry for it I wanted to take it back to the hotel...:O) Nice recipe Nicko!!!!
i think you should have put some black pepper and a few herbs into the tomato sauce, im sure the taste would have been a lot better because canned tomato paste usually tastes a bit sour.
