No, it is less dense than air, which makes it lighter, which is why they use it in balloons. if anything it's be traveling upwards and out of your lungs quickly. Sulfer haxfloride however, is heavier than air and has the exact oposite effect of helium, and would indeed be harder to get out of your lungs than air or helium. =)

Actually it's not that dangerous. Heliumisn't poisonous. If you were say trapped inside of a blimp (they USED to use hyrdogen, not anymore because of the Hindenberg) for several ours, you'd die from lack of oxygen. but it takes a lot for Helium to kill you. If helium is so dangerous and could kill you, so are vaccines. If you get way too much of them they can kill you. inhaling helium and sulfur hexafluoride itself isn't dangerous. your lungs can very well take it. The only thing thats dangerous is that when you breathe, the oxygen goes into your blood and is then transfered to the rest of your body. If you dont breathe actual oxygen for too long, your cells (especially your brain) will suffer. So, once in a while is perfectly harmless. Also because SF6 is heavier than air, its best to do a handstand after so gravity will help get the excess out of your lungs
