Funny. I enjoyed both Space Jam and Back in Actions, though I prefered Back in Action. And after watching this review... I liked it even more, cause you just made me got references and cameos I didn't got when I first watched it, and I'm a sucker for these.
Well, there has to be weird people like me, ya' know ^^
I liked this better then space Jam. Space Jam was just a sports movie full of people I don't know doing stuff I don't care about this was a sci-fi spy action movie full of cameos by all sorts of amazing characters in a wares Waldo-ish style, thing. I also enjoid Rocky & Bowinkle. I don't know whay I love bad movies , I just do. I even liked Green Lanturn.
hey erod what do you think of the new looney tunes show, and it may not be as classy as the old looney tunes but it's 100 times better than this dullfest of a movie.
Wow Walmart is like Tim Horton's. They're everywhere. In case you don't know what Tim Horton's is; it's a Canadian coffee chain. It's like Starbucks but our large coffees don't cost you a down payment of an Aston Martin AND their staff isn't as rude.
it's more the ADULT looney tunes fans that hate this movie, the kids (i.e. me) loved it, my favourite line is near the start when daffy says "well thats just cheating" seeing from someone elses perspective is important to understand it (he's a critic on TGWTG.com) whoah! i'm sorry, your majesty, i don't know who i'm talking to!
This movie is one of the greatest & the more I watch it , the more I love it, Thanks Joe Dante , Goldsmith, Jones Freleng, Tashlin, Clampett McKimson. & Really dude? Space Jam?
how can you talk so negative on this movie? This is a great family movie, it has great zany action for the kids, great pop culture refrences for the adults and It's the freakin looney tunes what did you expect, a movie that made sense?
I like this movie. I'm a huge fan of the looney tunes especially the classic shorts. I will say the movie was a nonsensical mess and most of the human characters were hit and miss but over all It was great seeing the tunes back in a full length feature. I also enjoyed the gags and what not. Now I will say this movie can get pretty bad at times with some of the dialogue and over the top acting but its not worse than space jam. It's enjoyable for what it is. looney tunes being looney tunes
I liked it, but hey, its your opinion, besides, i saw this movie when i was 7 and I got the ticket free out of a cereal box. Yes, they gave away tickets to a movie, in a cereal box.
YOU SUCK BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WAS GREAT MOVIE. VERY WELL MADE AND FILLED WITH LAUGHS AND ACTION. BUT I RESPECT YOUR OPINION, BUT STILL YOU DIDNT NEED TO SEE THAT, DUDE!!!!!!
CURSE YOU< CURSE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. Sorry, it's just that... I love this movie. It is one of those movies that you see as a kid and completely love. You have a right to opionion and all. I just have an extremly different one.
The most offensive thing to me was the presence of the Dalek. I don't know why, but I was actually infuriated by it. Probably has something to do with the fact that I'm a huge Dr. Who fan, and seeing a member of one of the most badass automaton races in television history (no matter how silly many think they look) exploited for this stupid, pointless, shameless, and downright INFURIATING fuck-fest was just so WRONG.
What makes this movie worse than Space Jam is in my opinion, watching someone like Steve Martin, who is a true comedic jem when given a chance (please ignore The Pink Panther) and watching their souls slowly dying as they play terribly over the top characters that add ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO THE MOVIE! I mean I never wanted to see the day where Steve Martin went on screen and hear myself groaning. This movie is one of the worst in my opinion, it hurts me to watch it. I can tolerate space jam.
I like this movie, Steve Martin in my opinion was the funniest, because he just seemed to be having the most fun with that role..
I do have to admit, though, I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that cheap Dalek. I mean, seeing Doctor Who's greatest villian in a Looney Tune movie was CRAZY.
I admit the in-jokes weren't well executed and you could see them coming from a mile away. I enjoyed it and it actually gave you something you could never seen in another Loony Tunes movie-EVIL GRANNY!
I was actually fine with this movie, it wasn't good but the Looney Tunes had their moments in this one, and for the most part acted as they should more here then in Space Jam to be quite honest. It's ok really, now for the Warners to make a better one next time they get a chance
Shit, I sat through the whole movie and I didn't notice the similarities to Roger Rabbit until you brought them up...
I did however spend most of the time thinking how random it was and wondering why in HALF the movie the human actors didn't even acknowlege the toons. Seriously after the first part, you could pretty much erase the toons and nobody would notice.
I can see where you all are coming from. But my nostagia towards makes me love it. I rewatched it about two months ao, and it's actually not half bad. I love movies that go to one place to another. I think it was a tad better than Space Jam actually. I loved the whole chase scenes. And I know they screwed over Fudd but the Daffy & Bugs vs. Elma Fudd scene was atualy pretty awesome. @HyperBlob1 Yes, it's funny, but it erks me that they had to make Daffy so Stupid, he may be greedy, he may be a jerk, but he was never an idiot. What gives?
@ERod2010 You think HE got it bad? how about how they practically killed off Elmer Fudd! with almost no humor involved! I know he should be okay since he's a cartoon and can be brought bavk to life any time but it was still pretty disturbing in a way!
@ERod2010 Wait! I just realized something else that bothers me about this film! Daffy finally lets Bugs know how much it bothers him that no matter what happens people will always like him better, and Bugs seems to really feel bad for him too!... But the "it was ALL a dream" ending makes it all seem pointless! Wow, My A.D.D. made this pile of lameness seem so entertaining once...
The difference between this film and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (ie why one succeeded and one bombed) can be summed up in one word:
Dignity.
Roger Rabbit, was an entertaining well thought out film that gave its characters (toons, humans, villians and heros) the respect they deserved while still telling a good story.
Back in Action screwed over age old icons and made the human cast try to out silly the toons just to waste its time with cameos and pointless jabs at everything in the 21st century
@extremeTHE1 I know!!! What the hell were the Daleks doing in area 51? They were never incompetent enough to be captured in Dr. Who!!! This is bullshit!!!
@ERod2010 Well to geek totaly out: one Dalek was one time captured (in 2005 season1) but well i can take a lot but no Daleks in Loony Tunes! The only thing what could have been cool is if the Daleks extreminates all the crap in that movie!
@extremeTHE1 Oh good a Dr. Who fan! Okay then answer me this: was this Dalek that was captured captured by highly trained agents or time lords or was he very cleverly tricked, or was he trapped by a bunch of incompetent morons who I wouldn't trust wit a potato gun, like in this movie?
@ERod2010 well ahm the Dalek was pritty much destroyed/dead and felt on the earth as just someone found it who collected Alien stuff to invent stuff like the Broadband internet... well he was kinda retarted ;P
@dannydontgoin237 Honestly I just wanted to see more Looney Tunes and less of everything else. Why have so many side dishes when the main course is already great on it's own.
PS. It's okay to disagree with me feel free to do so in the future.
@ERod2010 Though I will agree - I hated Bugs burping and Taz farting. I actually thought we might just make it through a Hollywood comedy without a fart joke. No such luck. Other than that, I found it to a be a demented mess of a movie that somehow worked. I didn't think it was geared at kids at all, I think Joe Dante made the movie for himself (if I had another criticism, it was shamelessly self-indulgent). Luckily, Dante's sensibilities and mine are similar, so it was okay with me.
@dannydontgoin237 Well, there you go. Like I said on my "Guilty Pleasures" Video. Movies are like paintings not everyone appreciates them the same. Maybe one day Dante can make "Classic SciFy Aliens vs. Batman", and I think we will both enjoy that one. Wait no he will probably have the Looney Tunes Guest Star for no good reason.
5 minutes ago By the way..Universal/Walter lantz's Woody Woodpecker, the closest anyone came to cloning Daffy in the 40s, has this to say:
"I can not see a thing...I Can not see a thing"[at the doctor's office..reading an eye chart that says exactly that.Woody Woodpecker reading an eye chartt..and it's a fox who wants to eat him. Universal, MORE than MGM, was Warner Bros.s's biggest competitor as far as cloning characters is concerned
[With MGM being the other, but their library and franchises as part of WB and Tom and Jerry ALREADY in Made for DVD, and not counting individual contributions to funniest by UPA [Magoo, basically their only well known character], and Disney's Donald amist their lovable critters, and Viacom with Paramount and Terry, both of whcih hit or miss], Universal is the remaining with Woody and Buzz Buzzard to really copy looney Tunes
@TheComicAddict Now please don't misunderstand me, Transformers 2 still sucks, but at least in that movie they didn't push the Transformers out of the way to have a 100 meaningless cameos and thousands of stupid parodies that had nothing to do with the transformers....but it still sucks.
its such a shame that the looney toons can't have one good movie. this one is know exception from a bad one. however i hate space jam more than this in my opinion.
Haha Hollywood punch-line... I am so glad I never saw this movie then! Worse than the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull you say, damn, awesome transformation sequence at the beginning lol.
Oh btw, what are you gonna do about that war you have against the Martians now?
@Archaeos I wouldn't worry about the martian threat. There are no Wal-Marts in L.A. so Marvin will probably not be able to find a spear Elunium P.U.36 Explosive Space Modulator
I never saw this movie in the theatres. I suspected it was going to be crappy. From what you have shown, I think I owe crap an apology for comparing them to this.
@CinemaInsane Hah, originally the Brendan Fraser rant was way longer, but I had to cut it short due to time constraints. I don't hate the guy, but he has the worst luck. he goes from doing something decent like "With Honors" to something humiliating like "George of the Jungle"
Have you seen the new Looney Tunes show? Yeah, it's not that good and a little insulting.

I have to admit it... I loved this movie for pretty much every reason you hated it!
dannydontgoin237 1 year ago 2
@dannydontgoin237 Honestly I just wanted to see more Looney Tunes and less of everything else. Why have so many side dishes when the main course is already great on it's own.
PS. It's okay to disagree with me feel free to do so in the future.
ERod2010 1 year ago
@ERod2010 Though I will agree - I hated Bugs burping and Taz farting. I actually thought we might just make it through a Hollywood comedy without a fart joke. No such luck. Other than that, I found it to a be a demented mess of a movie that somehow worked. I didn't think it was geared at kids at all, I think Joe Dante made the movie for himself (if I had another criticism, it was shamelessly self-indulgent). Luckily, Dante's sensibilities and mine are similar, so it was okay with me.
dannydontgoin237 1 year ago
@dannydontgoin237 Well, there you go. Like I said on my "Guilty Pleasures" Video. Movies are like paintings not everyone appreciates them the same. Maybe one day Dante can make "Classic SciFy Aliens vs. Batman", and I think we will both enjoy that one. Wait no he will probably have the Looney Tunes Guest Star for no good reason.
Thanks for the Feedback

If Elrod doesn't mind, I added it to my FaceBook page, and even gave credit.

Woody-Bugs. Andy-Porky. Wally-Elmer.

SteveCarras 1 year ago
AT least Universal didn't try with THEIR looney cast of critters-Woody Woodpecker, Wally Walrus, Chilly Willy, Andy Panda, and Buzz Buzzard.

@TheComicAddict OH, oh, you said the magic word BAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!
ERod2010 1 year ago
@TheComicAddict Now please don't misunderstand me, Transformers 2 still sucks, but at least in that movie they didn't push the Transformers out of the way to have a 100 meaningless cameos and thousands of stupid parodies that had nothing to do with the transformers....but it still sucks.

Haha Hollywood punch-line... I am so glad I never saw this movie then! Worse than the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull you say, damn, awesome transformation sequence at the beginning lol.
Oh btw, what are you gonna do about that war you have against the Martians now?
Archaeos 1 year ago
@Archaeos I wouldn't worry about the martian threat. There are no Wal-Marts in L.A. so Marvin will probably not be able to find a spear Elunium P.U.36 Explosive Space Modulator

"...Hollywood's walking punch line Brendan Fraser..." That sum up what I've been thinking for years. Great trash review...I mean movie review.
CinemaInsane 1 year ago
@CinemaInsane Hah, originally the Brendan Fraser rant was way longer, but I had to cut it short due to time constraints. I don't hate the guy, but he has the worst luck. he goes from doing something decent like "With Honors" to something humiliating like "George of the Jungle"
