I'm kind of the opposite. I value story over gameplay. I love being able to enjoy playing a game, but if the story is engaging I will suffer through horrible gameplay. Example: I was not a fan of the gameplay in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, or Re:Coded. I absolutely love the story though.
I agree with you completely about Fanboys. They take things to extremes. It gets worse when you step outside of games and look at iOS or android. People need to stop and think before being radical. Personally I can't wait for DmC.
As for Ninja Theory, your opinion and I respect. However in my opinion story/graphics is not enough for me to enjoy a game. Ninja Theory prioritize this over gameplay which to me is a waste. If Heavenly Sword was a button masher with fans service even though the story was decent, Enslaved was just.....ugh (can't come up with a nicer word for it).

Don't know if you're going to reply to this but I just wanted to point out two things: the "death threats" and Ninja Theory's previous games.
This what Tameem said: "We weren't expecting death threats in comic book form or Anti-DmC death metal songs". He is saying DmC parody vids/ drawings that make fun of DmC is considered a death threat according to Tameem.
Well they should at least give an alternate costume like Old Dante with old voice for all the fans who really despise the reboot and weird looking dante.

@yellabonej24 oh let me add on to the list of games and movies they've ripped off Prototype, Spider Man, Inception, Felix the Cat (only one scene in that movie though and that movie was bad), Rez, Dark Watch, and even at one point they ripped off Ninja Gaiden 3 with close up camera before you kill an enemy, they actually blend the guns from Dark Watch and a movie called The One starring Jet Li, Devil Trigger is the quick silver style from DMC3.

hi neo l dont agree with you about games needing good game play but that may be because l like final fantasy which is basically like a large scale pokemon game when fighting enemys. but even so the story and graphics are good to overcome this but thats just me. Also there are some games that have it. (Mass effect). Anyway l honestly dont care what they have done to this devil may cry game because l have played all the past ones so it is most likely l am going to buy this one too.
i'm looking forward to the DMC collection DMC 2 is the only game in the series I haven't played. I went to Game Stop a few years ago to buy it and the employee there advised me not to get it. Said it sucked so bad that he had to spare me the horrible experience but since the games. Will have trophies i'll give them a try DMC 3 is easily my favorite in the series as for the reboot i'll give it a chance.

I am still waiting for the gameplay, from what i heard and saw, it seems like the goold old format, which is a good thing, like neo said , it wouldnt be much of dmc without the gameplay, sure it has good characters and story, but without that good old dmc gameplay or gameplayl ike stlye or at least has rich story and characters, then i still gonig to get it and play it (true fan)
What I never got was why people flipped out over the new Dante design, calling it "gay". How is it any more "gay" than his original design- a leather trench coat with no shirt underneath, perfectly stylized hair, no body hair, etc. I'm actually a little excited for DmC after playing Enslaved, also by Ninja Theory. Those guys deserve some success, and hopefully this will be it.

Here's my opinion. Devil May Cry 4 was awesome, but neros story got boring after a while. Still loved it though. This game, isn't looking very good. I like how he has a lot of weapons, but his rebellion is gone (he could find it in this game, who knows). Also, his personality an apperance is terrible. That first trailer looked terrible because he was emo and he smoked (a contradiction to the original creator's morality). Dante is also very quiet.
I love all the Devil May Cry games, except for 2, but you are really giving away good points. Ninja Theory isnt going to change the gameplay that much and you are gonna still pull off the sames stylish moves you've been pulling off the last decade, but this generation of gamers are stupid pricks. This generation sucks because all i hear are immature kids and adults ranting and im fucking sick of it!!
In my opinion I'm not against the fact that they made the reboot, I'm upset that they made the reboot AT THE WRONG TIME. We JUST got a new pivotal character in the Series, Nero. Why not expand on his story a bit more before going into a reboot?
Though I may still enjoy the game for the gameplay, I must admit I am very dissapointed in what they did with Dante. For me, Dante really did add to the awesomeness a lot. Though we don't know much about this new Dante, I do know he isn't nearly as sylish, and that's one of the things I love about Dante.
@snowcoolno Yea same here, I didnt think Nero was that bad. I'm upset that they're going in THIS direction w/ the DmC Series NOW, when they JUST introduced Nero, and could develop his story a lot more. And Dante coulda still stayed in as a side, or even still the main character.

@soldierkei good cause they need to keep that door open for a new project of the original DMC series. I believet his one is just a reboot based to attract the western continent. That's what ninja theory said, though the reboot looks good, I prefer to just have DMC5 made instead.
Honestly I'm amped for the gameplay, true. But I'm a die hard fan of the DMC franchise, and if there's another story retelling I'm open for it. Never know how the story is gonna turn out. Could be a great story.

The gameplay looks kinda stale in my opinion, it looks like they have applied any new tricks...they basically gave Dante Nero's devil breaker in which he can extend his sword to grab enemies and the sword turning into different melee weapons isnt something we haven't already seen before in a dmc game lol

The worst type of fanboy IMO is GeneralMLD. No passion, feels nothing and dead cold. The ones you described, at least they have passion, they feel something and are not dead cold. @NeoGameSpark The game play is simular to DMC 4 nero fighting style, just with a little bit of advanced touch in the style like the air gliding the trigger and the gun style which is somewhat based on dante's battle style. It's basically a hybrid based of two styles of 2 of the three descendants of sparda. the story is kinda the same, but different too, I only heard a brief detail of it.
@lordoYYH255 I said it had the nero game style of skill set, the entire gameplay itself will be different. That sword he uses it as simmular to Nero's devil bring when he launches his arm as well as his sword play. the gun style itself is somewhat simular to dante's gun skill set. the game play is different and some of the skills are a little different, but you will see some of the simularities if you look at set in Dante's gun style in DMC3 and 4 and Nero's sword play.
@CloudDragon7 and yeah the game does look pretty westernized that may be the goal of getting more western gamers to play but i can only say that with the FPS craze nowadays this method will fail
@1stnaruto It was looked up into the manga and there are some specific hints. There was one person who talked with the main storyline creator and had discussed the main connection of Nero and sparda and Nero's past life. I can send you the link when I find the link on my history.

Comparing this reboot to the original DMC, the gameplay is mad slow. I'll get the DMC HD collection with DMC4 and wait til they make the actual Devil May Cry 5. Not this abomination. Bayonetta is faster than this reboot in terms of gameplay. But I'm happy that this rebbot doesn't follow the actual DMC storyline.

its pretty much heavenly sword,enslaved,god of war,dmc 4, bayonetta, thats just the gameplay now as for city and the character its movies like little nicky, dark city and inception. the devil trigger is a joke because all it does is change his hair and coat pretty much its super sayian trigger, and for those of u that can't get this part threw ur head its not about how the character look anymore its more then that now. if u would actually listen then u would understand.

@yellabonej24 oh let me add on to the list of games and movies they've ripped off Prototype, Spider Man, Inception, Felix the Cat (only one scene in that movie though and that movie was bad), Rez, Dark Watch, and even at one point they ripped off Ninja Gaiden 3 with close up camera before you kill an enemy, they actually blend the guns from Dark Watch and a movie called The One starring Jet Li, Devil Trigger is the quick silver style from DMC3.

hi neo l dont agree with you about games needing good game play but that may be because l like final fantasy which is basically like a large scale pokemon game when fighting enemys. but even so the story and graphics are good to overcome this but thats just me. Also there are some games that have it. (Mass effect). i'm looking forward to the DMC collection DMC 2 is the only game in the series I haven't played. I went to Game Stop a few years ago to buy it and the employee there advised me not to get it. Said it sucked so bad that he had to spare me the horrible experience but since the games. Will have trophies i'll give them a try DMC 3 is easily my favorite in the series as for the reboot i'll give it a chance.

What I never got was why people flipped out over the new Dante design, calling it "gay". How is it any more "gay" than his original design- a leather trench coat with no shirt underneath, perfectly stylized hair, no body hair, etc. I'm actually a little excited for DmC after playing Enslaved, also by Ninja Theory. Those guys deserve some success, and hopefully this will be it.

Here's my opinion. Devil May Cry 4 was awesome, but neros story got boring after a while. Still loved it though. This game, isn't looking very good. I like how he has a lot of weapons, but his rebellion is gone (he could find it in this game, who knows). Also, his personality an apperance is terrible. That first trailer looked terrible because he was emo and he smoked (a contradiction to the original creator's morality). Dante is also very quiet.

I love all the Devil May Cry games, except for 2, but you are really giving away good points. Though I may still enjoy the game for the gameplay, I must admit I am very dissapointed in what they did with Dante. For me, Dante really did add to the awesomeness a lot. Though we don't know much about this new Dante, I do know he isn't nearly as sylish, and that's one of the things I love about Dante.

The gameplay looks kinda stale in my opinion, it looks like they have applied any new tricks...they basically gave Dante Nero's devil breaker in which he can extend his sword to grab enemies and the sword turning into different melee weapons isnt something we haven't already seen before in a dmc game lol

What they should have done was urbanize dante NOT reboot him. Basically give him teenage clothing kinda like Neros but younger, like a Red hoodie.

@NeoGameSpark The game play is simular to DMC 4 nero fighting style, just with a little bit of advanced touch in the style like the air gliding the trigger and the gun style which is somewhat based on dante's battle style. It's basically a hybrid based of two styles of 2 of the three descendants of sparda. the story is kinda the same, but different too, I only heard a brief detail of it.

That sword he uses it as simmular to Nero's devil bring when he launches his arm as well as his sword play. the gun style itself is somewhat simular to dante's gun skill set. the game play is different and some of the skills are a little different, but you will see some of the simularities if you look at set in Dante's gun style in DMC3 and 4 and Nero's sword play.

Comparing this reboot to the original DMC, the gameplay is mad slow. I'll get the DMC HD collection with DMC4 and wait til they make the actual Devil May Cry 5. Not this abomination. Bayonetta is faster than this reboot in terms of gameplay. But I'm happy that this rebbot doesn't follow the actual DMC storyline.
