A cartoon shows a liberal, womanizing world leader who happens to also have a progressive powerful wife. He has forceful sex, almost to the point of rape, with an intern.
First, you would know who it was referring to, eventhough nobody was named. Second, the cartoon only presents one side of the story, when in fact that truth is probably entirely different. Lastly, you don't give Bill Clinton, um, I mean, the unnamed person a chance to give his side of the story.
I seriously doubt they'll prosecute this artist, I think the whole point of this exersise is to have just enough of a legal figleaf to allow the Renton PD the resources and authorisation to investigate him so they can bring him to court, thus learning his name. Once they have his name they can drop the case and he'll recieve a visit in the middle of the night. I hope he was smart about how and where he uploaded (internet cafe not anywhere near home and paid with cash is good).
If you ask me, the Renton police department is doing itself a disservice by trying to make a big deal out of the cartoons. If you watch them, they really don't make any sense out of context, and nobody would know what they were trying to talk about if not for the lawsuit. good & bad cops both have badges uniforms and guns. 50% of cops are bad we have too many laws protecting the policeman and none protecting the citizen from the police so we may need carry guns to protect ourselves from policeman because you cannot tell a bad cop from a good cop I'm not going let a policeman killed me When I was young most everyone like the police I am 68 YO now most everyone hates the police. Now days how can you tell a good policeman from a bad policeman

I agree with the police, the truth should be illegal if it incriminates the government because they need to be able to murder and rape the innocent in order to do their jobs. As soon as we start protesting rapists, we put their lives in danger and if the police are rapists then they should be protected by disregarding the first amendment.

I swear if the cops get a hold of him its over. There arrested ppl for swearing in the streets so you can only imagine what there gonna to do that guy for exposing how there world is. Yes, internal affair investigations MAY be corrupt (emphasis on the word MAY, since a good majority probably follow proper protocol). But a guy doing these cartoons and being watched by the public is acting as judge and jury. You libs should be concerned about due process and adhering to the concept of innocent until proven guilty.

@hofifut If the cartoonist is wrong or lying, why does the police department think he's talking about them? The Renton police department is never actually named. Someone there saw the video and just decided it was about them based on the fact that those awful things really DID happen there.

A cartoon shows a liberal, womanizing world leader who happens to also have a progressive powerful wife. He has forceful sex, almost to the point of rape, with an intern.
First, you would know who it was referring to, eventhough nobody was named. Second, the cartoon only presents one side of the story, when in fact that truth is probably entirely different. Lastly, you don't give Bill Clinton, um, I mean, the unnamed person a chance to give his side of the story.

I seriously doubt they'll prosecute this artist, I think the whole point of this exersise is to have just enough of a legal figleaf to allow the Renton PD the resources and authorisation to investigate him so they can bring him to court, thus learning his name. Once they have his name they can drop the case and he'll recieve a visit in the middle of the night. I hope he was smart about how and where he uploaded (internet cafe not anywhere near home and paid with cash is good).

If you ask me, the Renton police department is doing itself a disservice by trying to make a big deal out of the cartoons. If you watch them, they really don't make any sense out of context, and nobody would know what they were trying to talk about if not for the lawsuit. The cartoons by themselves are pretty boring and don't make a lot of sense.

public entities or people should have no real expectation of freedom from criticism from the citizens or this guy. I think that's the way a judge will see it.
