this had the feel of one of those speeches where more time was spent designing the slides than actually thinking about the topic. I don't see this as a tough crowd; i see it as an informed one that were bored by a guy who rarely moved beyond starting the glaringly obvious.

that's a shame, because in a lot of areas merlin mann has some really interesting things to say. unfortunately this just isn't one of them.
