  • man that looks like fun

  • btw if it was an smt then i would have paddle shifters... this is a five speed . you can tell by it hitting the rev limiter at 23 sec

  • btw if it was an auto smt then i would have padel shifters... this is a five speed . you can tell by it hitting the rev limiter at 23 sec

  • Nice driving, manual is more fun, not hating or anything though

  • @Graham2B This was manual. I stayed in 1st gear since the course was a relatively tight course. The 5spd GB and increased rev limit of 8600 means 1st tops out around 40mph. You'll see that I hit the limited during the slalom but shifting to 2nd would've made more lost time than benefit me.

  • @MidEngine4Life My bad, just thought i saw a post where u said it was manual and i didnt know there was a 5 spd manual sowy

  • Does this really affect the perfect balance ratio this car was made to be? Also, did you have to fabricate/relocate motor mounts for the 2GRFE to be swapped in? I seen the engine bay on a guy who had this done and it looks really tight. Would you happen to know also if a turbo application is about to be applied to this with the limited space?

  • such a beautiful car for a beautiful purpose

  • will a 2zz matte to the stock 5spd transmision

  • nice stability

  • what kind of tires?

  • very nice driving

  • Good job. Especially for being on street tires :)

  • awesome car and driving! =]

  • You need headers :), nice driving though.

  • @Ottobon and a wind sock :D

  • Wear and tear must be immense!

  • On what?

  • thats some nice driving!

how much power are you making with the 2zz?

and what kind of suspension mods do you have?

  • Prolly making a little under 200 with exhaust.

  • nice, any performance mods?

  • You mean besides the engine swap?

  • @MidEngine4Life so when you have the 2zz in and you're using the stock gauges, what is the new redline?

  • @MidEngine4Life hey buddy how much was it for the wholee swapping procedure??

  • @ashleybunbury Hard to put a price on it all, I sourced and did everything myself

  • nice dancing

  • hmm to bad is an automatic

  • Ummm, I take it you don't drive manual and/or you've never been to autocross before? It isn't automatic, with a 8600rpm rev limit 1st gear tops out at just above 40mph. The course peaks right around there so there was no shifting necessary. If it was automatic you'd hear the autotragic trans constantly shifting up/down.

  • alot speed loss if he were to shift

  • Wow, good job, loser. The MR2 Spyder was not made available with an automatic. Noooob.

  • actually the MR2 Spyder had a available semi-auto SMT tranny that i believe had 6 gears... so it actually did come with a auto, and its a really good one at that.

  • Semi-auto isn't really the right name, it is a SMT or "Sequential Manual Transmission." What it means is the clutch is hydraulically actuated doing away with the 3rd pedal. BUT, ALL SHIFTING is still done by the driver. This ain't some manual-matic shifting auto trans with a torque convertor/flex plate, instead there is a clutch/flywheel/pp.

  • Plus I suppose the real Spyder-addicts may notice that my dash is from '00-'02 models where as the SMT wasn't available until '03.

  • I have an '02 with the 5 speed SMT. It is really amazing how the computer controls the clutch actuation. Complaints are that I wish it would shift faster, and some times it does not get into 1st gear fast enough for right turns on red, rolling through stop signs, etc. A closer ratio 6 speed would be nice too. Nice driving BTW.

  • @sunnyallthetime mayb jus get a manuel and stop using a bitch ass smt. idc what u say its an auto No Thanks

  • i don't understand the lingo much but if you don't know how to drive stick.. can u drive this can anyway? i was tempted to get one but that might change things..i need to know in the next 17 hours.. anyone please feel free to answer.. thanks

  • nice driving :) love the 2zzge

  • thanks, but I didn't like my driving in the first half of the course.

  • Nice :D

I've tracked mine, and gotten heaps of oversteer. Was fun. :D
