Pets help you like Pick up stuff like Meso pouch item pouch ...and stuff like that it picks up Mesos and or Other items or then that yeah decoration and fun to play with lol
Technically, yes. When their time runs out, you can't use them anymore, and you have to get a magic water from the cash shop to revive them. It's possible that your pet simply ran out of time when you killed that monster. Also, if a pet's hunger reaches 1 (or zero, one of the two) it gets put away automatically, and you have to take it out and feed it.
