the truth is, historically no one ever quick drew. the quick draw was invented for shows and movies. people most of the time killed covertly i.e, ambushed or shot in the back. the idea was to take out an enemy with the least possible danger.

I don't think any of you get the concept of "Single Action". That means that not only is he pulling the gun up and shooting it, but he's also pulling bakc the hammer before shots making it twice as hard for him to do it. I use my custom made hand pistol special 38 and short free flow Hoister and I draw clind eastwood style. with my hand flicking the triger notch back for a three shot spread.

@C0WB0Y20 sorry doris, he's right. i quartermastered for reanactment cowboy shoots since i've qualified through jr. marines. CFDA has some pretty good rules in place and they look at every piece of hardware you bring to an event. there truly is no such thing as modifying a holster. the most you can do is buy a new one. guns on the other hand CAN be, but not for competition. only for show. things like fanning hammers and shaved down parts of the gun are only allowed for showing, not events

Given, Bob Munden may be the fastest in the world under any conditions, but what you're seeing in his videos (and videos of others) are highly modified guns and highly modified holsters that a fired with a slap-cock.

I use a traditional holster, and unmodified gun and I thumb-cock the hammer.

With the hanging holsters you have to bring it up because you have to straighten your arm to grab.
