  • Hey greek brothers, whats about with this tv show Sten ygeia mas-is it well transcripted in latin characters?-? It seems is a funny show, like a big banquet!

  • @davidamarat the best bit is that the nominal hosts are the anchormen ( and ladies ) from the Greek news channels ! I wish the BBC would do this .

  • @zarquon53 I wish -too- every tv show could get that fresh things, with all those business men involved in social shows, because they feel like kings or masters of the world, fckn morons. Greeks are a great nation, greetings from Mexico!

  • You are right, the word is from the turkish "rebet" but as far as being nationalistic , there is nothing wrong with that, Greece was founded on nationalism, believing that it is a "bad" thing is not necessarily true, especially in this day and age where the education systems have been brainwashing the cattle to actually believe that the idea of the nation-sate should be done away with. Pathetic. We should fight that till our last breathe.

  • @DzaDzaAsh We got your back too, brother!!!

  • @natalie0785 You're not going to find anyone more nationalistic as I am, but when it comes to music, food and women, this kind of arguments and politics are OUT.

  • @MrSkaramanga i was saying this to the people that had commented with their crap. the comments are now either removed or dont show from negative votes. and i said it because their crap annoys me when i see it the SAME guy comments all the greek stuff. im not sure what you wanted me to say to you being a nationalist... im glad?

  • @natalie0785 I don't want you to say anything and you misunderstood my point anyway. Forget it.

  • great voice, great culture, great country...and beautiful girls too!greece is the most beautiful country in the world...and my italy as well, overall awful situation apart,i also sing in a band i have many things to learn from this kind of singers

  • @54Turkiye Why the fuck are you here, stalker? Are you here to listen to our music, copy it, and then pretend you Turks did it first like our cuisine, and culture? Is that too many words for you to comprehend? Does your vocabulary only contain the words "FUCK GAYREECE TURKEY IS THE BEST"? If so, go back to school.

Can you seriously stop stalking us unless you're here to enjoy the music, which obviously you're not. Actually, keep posting, I love reading comments like yours. They entertain me.

  • @MasakadosMagatama Boring, boring boring, and dead wrong. Rebetiko is a Turkish word, boufo, and much of it has Turkish influences. It's all about synthesizing different styles to create a new one -- something we Greeks have been doing, brilliantly, for centuries. Modern nationalism is a poison, and is useless. Get over it.

  • @lrubemp No dear, your boring. I really don't think I even mentioned where the word came from, but since you want to bring up words, the word "music" the reason why we are all on this page comes from Greece, as does the majority of the English language. Now in regards to the style of this music, it does have some Turkish influence, just like Turkey has many Greek and Middle Eastern influences in their culture. It's inevitable.

  • @lrubemp If you're going to cry about my post, maybe the Turks shouldn't have kicked the Greeks out of Greece's land, where they have been living for over 3,000 years, because then they wouldn't have started singing the blues in the slums of mainland Greece, and you wouldn't be so defensive.

Also darling, my post was was intended for 54Turkiye, who like many, not all, come to the Greek music sites and deliver their irrelevant 2 cents that really are entertaining but also very dumb.

  • @lrubemp Yeah, modern nationalism is a poison only to countries like those who try to alter history to suit their agendas. The Greeks have history and we will defend it. We won't fail if we unite, something you obviously don't want to do. And please spare us, we Greeks? You are not Greek with your attitude. The Greeks shall just give up according to you, and let the Turks and the rest of the vultures keep taking what they want, or should we stick together and keep our history alive?

  • @lrubemp I truly don't think you are Greek, maybe from FYROM who wants Greece to fall so you can take Northern Macedonia and get to the Aegean like your people want, or from Turkey where you want to continue taking land and hoping to occupy Greece again maybe this time let's make it a thousand years. You dear, should get over it.

  • wish the greek singers would come back to astoria, like before.bouzoukia is the best.

  • @lindas2638 I remember as a kid seeing Voskopoulos at the Crystal Palace :)

  • Just a phenomenal song and Al Pacino has such a great voice, what a talented man Tony Montana is, hehe!!! He looks exactly like him.

  • Hey, nice to see a great song sung by a great singer with pretty girls dancing and a whole bunch of Balkan men arguing and cursing each other over irrelevant issues of language and history.

    Just like old times.

    Opa !...

  • @sternumagnum

    Too funny!!!!!

  • i am macedonian , but i am not greek !

  • @macedonianchorba

..So you are a immigrant that migrated to Greece

  • @macedonianchorba this cant stand. probably ure a fagg.

  • @nicolaspao

who are fagg`s ?????? ppl from HELLASS so called GayReek`s ....... sorry greek`s

  • @macedonianchorba

That's only called by haters who are jealous of the Greeks: the greatest and most influensable civilisation in the world. India is the greatest democracy in the world, wich is Greek. The architecture to medicine to language (english has 60.000 greek words from origin) to theatre to art, to philosophy to writers to musicians, to geography to military tactics, to astronomy to poets and everything inbetween. Rome, napoleon, hitler, etc all took greece as their big example

  • @andonaki2 Alright there pal, the architecture and medicine, and art, and philosophy and so on are all great, but I don't think referencing Hitler is gonna lend you any popularity points. Not quite what you wants to take credit for mate.

  • @macedonianchorba

continued.... -> and that is why your jealous my retarded macedonian friend. That's why macedonians and turks hate greeks because greece has everything that macedonia and turkey never ever had. And that is that Greece is the foundation of the western civilisation and even the world. Because the world took on their turn western civilisation as their example. That is why India is the biggest democracy (1 billion) and that is why the architecture of america is greek architecture

  • @andonaki2

andonaki no one deny the achivment of greeks from ancient time , but today they became a black hole who swallow everithing whit out rezult on other side , and they whant and thet which not belong to them

gretings from one "retarded" macedonian .

  • @macedonianchorba

What does not belong to the greeks? It's hard to understand what you're saying.

We don't take anything from others. Alexander was in every way a greek. and macedonia is in every way greek.

Alexander spread his greek language, his greek knowledge and everything else from his greek homeland to other parts in the world. He came from Pella wich is Thessaloniki nowadays. Greeks dont steal anything. Greece just is one of the biggest civilisations with the greatest influence ever

  • @andonaki2

like frst u open google map to see where is Pela where is Tesalonik (thet is not the same ) he is founder to Tesalonik after he conquer the Tesalia ( Tesalonik mean Tesalia ruler , like in many other macedonian words the ading "nik" to the end of word mean ruler , "rabotnik, gradeznik and ets.)

and one other question for u : is Obama spreading english culture and knowledge maybe british or american ???? is he a engish ethnic origine , his language is english so???? what is he ????

  • @macedonianchorba

First of all. Pella lies in Greece. Second of all don't talk about "nik" etc. It's known that Alexander was in every way greek, taught greek like people in russia who is getting teached everything about russia. There where many city states. There was no "unity" in Greece itself. Sparta, thebe, thracie, athenians and 100 others where all city states who conquered eachother. Macedonia is just like that. Lets get to facts. there is NO facts about that macedonia was not greek.

  • @macedonianchorba

We greeks don't want things that don't belong to us. But that what DOES belong to us is from US. Without the greeks the whole world would be different. Without the greeks, no democracy, no aristotle, homerus, alexander, plato, no Rome, etc and many other great things. Don't forget. Many countries are jealous of Greece. That's why in history they tried to destroy it and claim things their own. They destroyed everything, but NOT the foundation, because it's indestructable!

  • @andonaki2

dont forget democracy is greek achivment but aleksandar is a king whit kingdom Masedonia which is far of way from democracy , no one ancient greek state is kingdom so ????whay the demosten call macedonians barbarians ???

  • @macedonianchorba

Like all facts point, that Macedonia was in every way greek. Obama is a very poor example. This world nowadays is 2500 years later where we are ONE. back in that time that did not exist. Greece was the gateway and founder of western civilisation. Without it Rome would not even have existed like it has. And alexander was taught greek, had greek teachers, lived like a greek and all books and writings about his time pointed that he was greek. You have no foot to stand on ->

  • @macedonianchorba

And next to that. If we look to macedonia map, you see that far out most part of macedonia lies in Greece. Even the mountain Olympus was part of Macedonia. And olympus is deep within greek land. Macedonian symbols are greek, and names are greek. Alexander is also greek name. It's all greek. You have no proof of anything else

  • @macedonianchorba

someone must tell you about king leonidas.

  • @Roxzee You mean Tatarian? To be Macedonian, you need to be Greek.

  • Geia sou re Mhtsara fwnara

  • the same melody can be found in this cypriot song as well:

    /watch?v=IaTZHDX2Vuc&feature=related

  • @EuroSkept1C - In your response, above, you question whether "I am maybe confused" about what I say "because some of my own family from Asia Minor might have been pure-blooded Turks." I won't bother to answer your racist ad hominem attacks (look up the Latin in a dictionary). Are you a musicologist, linguist, or cultural anthropologist? I doubt it. Is the word "kurban" is used. Is that Greek? You are simply an ignorant nativist who confuses that with "patriotism."

  • roxee do you think that you a smart you fucking slav or bulgarian whatever you are there in VARDASKA .macedonia is a greek history and part of it ,macedonian music and greek is the same thing

  • When I look at the moronic, polemics below, I am ashamed to be a Greek. Both sides of my family were refugees from Asia Minor and they NEVER spewed the hatred that I see below. This music, in case you didn't notice, combines influences from BOTH Greek and Turkish language and music.. Moreover -- for you racists -- it has been shown that the genetics of modern Turks are closer to Greeks than anyone from Central Asia (so-called "mongols"). This music and its beauty is lost on you.

  • @ytoussulis Also, pathetic fool, try educating your sorry ass a little bit. You'll be surprised at what you find, the tremendous attrocities committed against the Christians in general, and the Greeks.

And try reading about Janissaries too, it will help you understand why modern "Turks" and Greeks look so much alike. And then check the other Turkic people, in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakshtan, see how they look like and compare them to modern "Turks".

  • Manolis Hasiklis

  • anyone know the chords he plays on guitar for this song?? id like to learn this song on guitar..

  • I am not Greek, but the singer has a mezmorizing voice.

  • @TSIFUT im pretty sure that song is by Antonis Remos, cus i remember that album had two songs called, Tremo and Pes mou zitas ( accidently found on youtube ;D)

  • Im heading of to greece!

  • @tynanator111 and getting raped?

  • @idznuf If someone has the stomach to rape my hairy ass, then they are very welcome. They are certainly a better man than i am.

  • @tynanator111 Eh fyfan va du är äcklig!

  • @tynanator111 That is very kind , but I am now at an age where , quite frankly , I'd rather have a nice refreshing cup of hot tea than indulge in bouts of frenzied sodomy .

Wouldn't you rather sit with me and drink rather too much alcohol and just listen to the nice music ?

Na sou pou , tha perasame kala , filo mou !

  • I love you Dimitri.eisai teleios.

  • nice! greetings from bosnia!:)

  • turks go home go greece!!

  • me likes this

  • Greek Magic!!!!!!

  • @Tarn1968

Modern Popular Greek music has evolved with the times and the wishes of the new Generation. Trio Belcanto is indeed behind the times. Glykeria, Charis Alexiou and Giorgos Dalaras are around singing like never before!

  • @Tarn1968

Vise Verse. The word music is Greek, and the 9 Muses (music maidens) are Greek. And the Greeks invented the music notes used to this day.

The music of the Arabs and Turkish tribes is rathere primative consisting of beating Drums.

Greek music has been influenced by Indian music through the Persian and Byzantine empires through time. The Ottoman Empire inherited all that tradition.

  • shut the fuck up mongol who lives in greece[cyprus] go back to asia your motherland

  • @ElassonaG13 lol .. out of curiousity,. use the reply button so i know u sent it. and secondly.. Asia is a very beautiful land. i would not mind going there with atleast educated people who think that saying mongol when its actually mongrel actually think that they insulted me.. grow the fuck up :) and go back to thai land . you mother land. now that .. that would be a better attempt of an insult..since thailand is a very poor country full of prostutes and brothels... u are just very sad

  • lol greek music is so shit :P i live in cyprus and hear it every day all day,. its horrible,.

  • @MrOverlord69 I think you are just a bitter and twisted little boy who does not deserve to live in beautiful Cyprus....so why don't you just go elsewhere to live....maybe amongst some "fig trees"....know what i mean??

  • @ Helios180746 BEAUTIFUL? lmao u are kidding right? .. u mean the dusty disgusting land of racist cunts?.. and firstly.. in cyprus u still wear mullets.. i mean omg ur 20 years out of date.. its like living100 years behind in technology.. there is nothing out here that can even be considered beautiful.. and especially the music. just makes me wanna vomit -.- .. its all banjo's and shit -.-

  • @ Helios180746 oh sorry. forgot about the obbsessive religeon -.- u are the reason that makes me proud to be atheist.. fuck sake.. there is no god.. live with the fear of death if u have to .. but grow up atleast -.-

  • @MrOverlord69 Little boy....before you write anything again learn how to spell properly.....i was right from the beginning..........you are a bitter and twisted little poof!!

Who is talking about God or religion moron...i am saying "if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen" ,or better still go to the bottom of a snake pit and curl up so that you feel at home with the rest of your venomous relatives!! Go hang yourself you poor excuse for a human being!!

  • @ Helios180746 lol.. you do know you cant insult correctly? and i am spelling in a faster text, i'll take it that you are greek .. and do not know what text is .. Twisted little poof.. allright.. homophobic fuck. i can be bitter , but thats not worse than being homophobic .. stupid dick -.-, oh, and before you call me "Little boy" have a look at what your writing.. i was talking about religeon because its become and ocd out here -.- i was talking about how shit cyprus is, and stating a point.lol

  • @MrOverlord69 Little boy.......i know what text is and it is not used within its context. It seems to be a way of communication between lazy young people and i do not wish to be part of it.Either you write proper English or not at all!!! By the way ....homophobic(Hellenic)....fear of poofters...not me that,s for sure... Can you please talk to me without using Hellenic words??? You are insulting me......Directions on committing suicide on the way!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @helios180746 allright.. i have lots of things to say to these last few things u have said.. first.. this is giving me one hell of a fucking laugh.. for many reasons.. if i am a "little boy" then why get in such a childish tantrum about it? lol and am i not entitled to my opinion?. i can write what the fuck i wanna write :).. not only that.. but u are Hellenic if you belive by calling me a poof and even that. useing the term poof offendes me.. then you are a homophobe.

  • @helios180746 Yes i am insulting you, and not only that.. but a see that you keep calling me a little boy, that is very pathetic.. by your rather. hilarious attempt of trying to belittle me kinda shows that you obviously have a very smallminded, dominant and quite disturbing personality... you should actually be quite careful in what u say.. shows alot about ur personality..

  • he may be a pedophile heeeheeheeee @MrOverlord69

  • @bebop54 innit lool :P

  • 80[ xaxaxaa@MrOverlord69

  • @helios180746 for example.. by saying Homophobic ( Hellenic ) fear of poofters . shows me that u are either. very obsessive with giving a definition of something when you know someone else knows it, or, you like to sound smart.. and you " Directions on committing suicide on the way!!!!!!!!" remark . shows that you believe that you should be allowed to decide between peoples lives. which you don't btw, and that between your childish and teenage years , you have been very spoilt.

  • @helios180746 wow.. this is alot to write to one sad 16 year old who has a bizarre addiction to very bad music, so in summary.. who is better right now.. a dominant obsessive, spoilt, irritating, person. or someone who happened to voice their opinion ?, .. And.. i take it your going to be very sad .. and start your next comment with " Little boy" when actually you are the "little boy" used to getting what he wants.. not only that.. but i take it your not used to be embarrassed?,. also. very sad

  • @MrOverlord69 Now there is a little boy telling ME to grow up....that is a laugh!!!! I will repeat.." I AM NOT TALKING OF RELIGION OR GOD HERE" If you are an atheist that is your f***'n business.Bitter and twisted still stands! If you don't like the music these people listen to,or the way they live,GET OUT!!!!

  • Very sad ...I bet they are angry on their government.... like we Romanians are...fuck Boc !

  • Greek Al Pacino ))

  • @gzee9zpvvv hahahahaahah

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • greek AL PACINO...

  • @icaubica yeah really he's looking like al pacino

  • Super Greek song.I amTurkish..I love greek music..

  • @cemal0072 I like turkic too ,kardas XD

  • @cemal0072 and i love the turkish music my friend and i am greek!

  • @cemal0072 There are a lot of similarities between the two cultures right?

  • @erinfclark

Generally the music of the Greeks with Asia Minor origin resembles Turkish music a lot.I wouldn't say the same about the rest.

  • @gkioniskk

For sure it resembles Greek music as ..... it was copied !!

In fact the oldest recorded music notes are found in Turkey... writeen in STONE .... in GREEK! naturally !

The word MUSIC is Greek from the nine muses, and so is the word MELLODY and SYMPHONY as well,

  • @JimmyTheGreek2000

The fact that our ancestors were the first to record their music doesnt mean that were the first to play music(they were also the first to record their history,it doesnt mean that human history start at ancient greece).Neither the fact the the english words about music have greek origin is relevant to the origin of anatolian music.

When musical styles are created in a place with more than one ethnic populations, then nobody copied anyone, they just happened have similar music

  • Pure AEGEAN SONG AND DANCE!

    VIVA HELLAS!

  • Macedonia is Macedonia NOT skopje!

    Get over it gypsy yugoslavians!

  • How would I know what - that the songs sunds Turkish?? Simply it does. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that Greeks are turkic-vlach mix. Just look at the singer.
