Wow I have seen this being posted on Epica's Facebook page for a while now and never bothered much with it. I'm hooked. This is really good stuff. Always nice to see side projects produce quality music like this. Only other side projects I have really enjoyed are Bloodbath and Liquid Tension Experiment

I don't really think it's the same as epica, this is way more guitar orientated. Epica is more baszed on the keyboards if you ask me. Just my opinion. No I am not a brainless fan protecting Mark. I am a musician by myself and this is just my opinion as a musician.

I listened to this clip and of the opinion that it's a Mark J. is making a commercial mistake with this Mayan project. All of these songs could easily be Epica songs. It's just not different enough. Quite honestly, a lot of people will call me a racist for saying this, but I'm not. It seems like they are just releasing a bunch of B-sides from epica and naming it "Mayan" to get all the fans interested in buying it. Let's be honest here, a lot of "Mayans" like Metal.

Wow Floor Jansen's voice at 4:10 - 4:25 sounds so awesome and wonderful and so powerful and rocker,just perfect!!! and Mark grunts are much better here! nice choirs too. I think its a really great song, heavy and dark! but the other songs must be even better,can't wait for Quarterpast to be out!!

I like a lot!!! BUT this operatic voices is a old truck, all the bands wants a soprano vioce, sometimes are not the best thing into the song, as a metalhead I heard that so many times and sometimes I am tired of that.

I like a lot the Floor Jansen voice cuz i so fucking versatile and that twist the song, is a GREAT DEATH METAL SONG

@Nightstalker909090 have you heard Deadlock or system divide? Both melodic death metal bands that have a male growler and female singer. This is very death metal band the female voice use in the right way works. Think Dark Tranquility.

@Epica124 What I'm trying to say is, since there are members from both After Forever and Epica, if they use too many female vocals by Floor and Simone, it will sound too similar to said bands. I'm not bashing the female vocals at all.

That being said, I'll go check out Deadlock and System Divide.

@Nightstalker909090 I AGREE !!! the problem is not the female vocalist, is just that the opera is for everywhere, and some people just hear this bands for a vocalist and that sucks as hell, and this truck of sopranos with metal is old and many bands use this voices like a hit for your brain and is not bad, but we have to much bands with that truck

Haggard, Therion, Penumbra, aesma daeva and a big etc...

But the song is great, We cant deny that Mark jansen is a great composer, is just an opinion
