What she did is called vocalese. That's when a singer makes lyrics to famous jazz instrumentals. Jon Hendricks has a very good one here on YouTube of Miles Davis' "Bye Bye Blackbird". It's been going on for years.
For some unexplainable reason, the bassist is a bit "steril" for me, but it may be because he doesn't "joke" around as much as I am used to in a lovely swing, but even so-- a fantastic player he is, too...Love the pianist! Something untraceable about him that I really like, perhaps the sophistication that comes with age..:)
@d4ysleeper We liked!!! She's fabulous...and the bee-bop: remember Ella. She's great, even in english or in her country language [italian]. Bring more, if you have.

Was I the only one who noticed that the vocal solo was the exact same as the version with Dizzy Gillespie and Sonny Rollins?

Great rhythm section!I´d prefer to just hear
THEM play, even though the vocalist is competent enough.

That's awesome. She does Stitt's, Dizzy's, and Rollins' solos. First time I've heard someone vocalise solos from multiple artist on the same tune.
