  • wow

  • just perfect songwriting isn't it? Thank you God for these moments.

  • Are those just intonation chords? I can't hear any beats. Maybe that's why its so hypnotic?

  • this is good

  • I like the Velvet Underground reference. At least I assume that was on purpose

  • @AssassinsDarkness lol what? dick

  • beautiful song, it touch me down inside

  • Clinic plays this live.

  • clinic is the shit!

  • What a wonderful song!

  • some words from stephanie says. from the velvet underground. sounds like a response song or something

  • good song , remind me a bit of a mix of radiohead and arcade fire

  • i love this song so much!

  • one of my favorite videos and songs of all times.

  • Anybody here remember Pure Morning?

  • @crosboid yes !! I managed to get a copy of 2 inch Helium Buddha a few weeks ago. Not as good as clinic but great to hear their early stuff ; )

  • @crosboid Yep - but Pure Morning's Placebo, not Clinic

  • @IJustHitTheFan I presume yr not joking. If yr not then you clearly don't remember Pure Morning, as you'll only know of a song by Placebo which has the same name.

I'm talking about the band Pure Morning.

  • @crosboid About 2 minutes after I posted I found out about PM the band and realized I'd made a jerk of myself. Hadn't known the band till now - but they sound interesting do will listen.

BTW - anybody know whether Placebo got the idea for their song Pure Morning from the band's name, or just a coincidence?

  • Wow, I heard this on the GIlles Peterson BBC show posted by Thom Yorke. Thank you. This has opened my ears to a whole new sonic world.

  • great song

  • Ahhh. Still the all time best Clinic song.

  • Wow, I've heard of Clinic but never actually listened to their songs. This is a good start :)

  • yes ftw.

  • great song

  • holy shit ive never heard of clinic until now but i really dig this voice it reminds me slightly almost of a thom yorke sound or vice versa, so sickkkkk

  • One of my Favorites.

  • wow this song it's damn good

  • this song is so bad ass and the video compliments it perfectly. i could watch it over and over.

  • whaaat this is so different from walking with thee. too weird..but his voice is still damn good

  • this song sets a relaxing almost angelical mood, to me it sounds like a kid who's curious about life, great video

  • fucking dope i could listen it for hours

  • god, how can just a few keyboard chords be sooo riveting?

  • Great little tune!

  • i think this song is in response to the song titled candy says by the velvet underground

  • I've been kind of thinking about life itself lately; and, to me, this video seems to summarize the idea of it. Brief, fragile, and wistful. Everything and nothing.

Clinic is a frighteningly brilliant band.

  • Also, I apologize for the comments I left about six months ago. If it isn't too much to ask, could someone mark them as spam? I honestly don't know what the hell I was thinking when I said I didn't like Arcade Fire. They are yet another favourite of mine.

  • Hah, thankyou. :)

  • haha, you're crazy, I like you.

  • LOVE CLINIC!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song...however, am I wrong in thinking this is about an abortion? If I am wrong, clue me in. What is the meaning?

  • I think you're right. Subtle enough to interprete your own way, though.

  • Call me a freak, but this song sounds like its about sexual repression to me...

  • Could be..

  • Mostly the lines: "I want no other leakage" (somehow) and "I want this out not in me"

although the abortion ling sounds more credible :P

  • I'd love them to play this when I see them in a few weeks, even though I know they won't lol

    Beautiful song.

  • gorgeous song from a genius band -- clinic.

  • i dont know why but i picture a forest in the snowy winter with a full moon and im floating slowly through the trees

  • That's a really cool thing to picture while listening to this song, actually! LOL

  • this is awesome very trippy =]

  • Excelente, hermosa canción!!!

  • there is a Chris Walla cover that is just perfect

  • Here it is on youtube

    watch?v=Y69qUswNO-w

  • @vladislalalava OMG!!!! That cover is DISGUSTING !

  • I like it, there's a Radiohead/Velvet Underground vibe going on. It's really cool.

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • love it

  • I love this song. The same vibe as The Velvet Underground'ss "Pale Blue Eye's".

  • the opening lines are a reference to the song "Candy Says"

  • i adore this video it's so beautiful if your truly lucky this song live is sublime! yeah clinic!!

  • I personally thought Arcade Fire's cover for Distortions was insulting to the original song. Sorry AF fans - it just didn't cut it for me, but maybe I'm wrong. :/

This song is beautiful, though. Very deep.

Clinic is one hell of a band. :]

  • So did no one else realise that this is just Candy Says?

Of course it's not "just" Candy Says, there is a lot of lyrical similarities and the strings make it even more similar.

  • My favorite by them

  • Before an of us Wallowed over The Postal Service, CLinic pulled off the sound of electronica, let alone space electronica, without even trying. That's why I really love this song. It's also a pretty honest love song.

  • Muy linda esta canción... me recuerda un poco a No surprices

  • definitely. lol

  • Muy linda esta canción... me recuerda un poco a No surprices

  • shit in my ass boys.....this was a real easy to write....mates from clinic

  • Vaya!

esta canción es magica, especial, hermosa, alucinante, magica, me encanta y el video tambien...

me encantaria verlos en vivo tocando esta canción..

    Saludos!

  • man what a song i get in so deeeep wow

  • can anyond help me find a live version of this.. plese :D

  • To my knowledge - this song has never been played live by Clinic. Arcade Fire have played it live though.

  • yeah, this has never been played live, because it's pretty much a solo song by their singer.

Speaking of live versions, would you be able to point me in the right direction of a few live versions or Clinic songs in MP3?

    I can't seem to find any :S

  • @brasseye actually i had the pleasure of seing them play it live a couple months back

  • @TheRoseClovers I know it's been a while since you posted but you responded to brasseye, which is one of clinic's promoters, maybe even one of the band members :)

  • @brasseye yeah they do play this song live.

  • wauw

  • creepy, cool, badass, and infinately suggestive of some cryptic meaning. it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. trully a angelic voice. what a visionary band!!!!

  • is not always angelical is sofetley but agresive, check the new seeker, is agressive

  • bravo gets better every time kinda track......

  • I love this song

  • Going to see Clinic With Arcade Fire tomorrow night. I believe i may cack myself in excitement and glee for both these bands.

    xx

  • This reminds me so much of Spacemen 3 or Yo La Tengo! Great track and looking forward to watching them with Arcade Fire in Cardiff.

  • I love Arcade Fire's cover of this!

  • love this f)(king song!

  • I'm seeing Arcade Fire and Clinic live. I can't wait!

  • arcade fire did a terrible job! and i even like arcade fire. they didn't even know the words!

  • By "they" you mean Win Butler. And by "didn't know the words" you mean the Portland gig on the previous leg of the tour. I know this NOT because I saw it on YT once [like you], but because I was there. I was also there when they covered it the second time at Electric Park in the U.S. state of Utah. That time he didn't forget the words. So he's batting .500. HOF average for baseball players. And they're still the greatest live band on the face of the earth. - E

  • especially when they then go and invite you to support them on their UK arena tour.

    Well chuffed for Clinic!

  • Nothing "sad" about the best live band in the world covering your song.

    E

  • It's sad that it took the Arcade Fire to cover this song to get more interest in it. Fantastic track, good video too.

  • quality song, quality band.

  • good
