@IJustHitTheFan I presume yr not joking. If yr not then you clearly don't remember Pure Morning, as you'll only know of a song by Placebo which has the same name.
@crosboid About 2 minutes after I posted I found out about PM the band and realized I'd made a jerk of myself. Hadn't known the band till now - but they sound interesting do will listen.
BTW - anybody know whether Placebo got the idea for their song Pure Morning from the band's name, or just a coincidence?
holy shit ive never heard of clinic until now but i really dig this voice it reminds me slightly almost of a thom yorke sound or vice versa, so sickkkkk
I've been kind of thinking about life itself lately; and, to me, this video seems to summarize the idea of it. Brief, fragile, and wistful. Everything and nothing.
Also, I apologize for the comments I left about six months ago. If it isn't too much to ask, could someone mark them as spam? I honestly don't know what the hell I was thinking when I said I didn't like Arcade Fire. They are yet another favourite of mine.
I personally thought Arcade Fire's cover for Distortions was insulting to the original song. Sorry AF fans - it just didn't cut it for me, but maybe I'm wrong. :/
Before an of us Wallowed over The Postal Service, CLinic pulled off the sound of electronica, let alone space electronica, without even trying. That's why I really love this song. It's also a pretty honest love song.
@TheRoseClovers I know it's been a while since you posted but you responded to brasseye, which is one of clinic's promoters, maybe even one of the band members :)
creepy, cool, badass, and infinately suggestive of some cryptic meaning. it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. trully a angelic voice. what a visionary band!!!!
By "they" you mean Win Butler. And by "didn't know the words" you mean the Portland gig on the previous leg of the tour. I know this NOT because I saw it on YT once [like you], but because I was there. I was also there when they covered it the second time at Electric Park in the U.S. state of Utah. That time he didn't forget the words. So he's batting .500. HOF average for baseball players. And they're still the greatest live band on the face of the earth. - E

Call me a freak, but this song sounds like its about sexual repression to me...
RiotSymphony7 3 years ago
Could be..
goggor 3 years ago
Mostly the lines: "I want no other leakage" (somehow) and "I want this out not in me"
although the abortion ling sounds more credible :P

Of course it's not "just" Candy Says, there is a lot of lyrical similarities and the strings make it even more similar.

yeah, this has never been played live, because it's pretty much a solo song by their singer.
Speaking of live versions, would you be able to point me in the right direction of a few live versions or Clinic songs in MP3?
