Kobe's average in the regular season is good. But it slighty goes down when playoff time comes (where it really matters).

Jordan on the other hand has an outstanding regular season. When the playoffs comes, he even turns it up a notch.

Look Jordan wouldn't let his team blow a 29 point lead in the finals nor let him team lose by 39.

I think Jordan will always go down as the best ever, BUT MJ never played against Magic's Lakers and the only time he did Worthy and Scott missed the whole series and Magic was past his prime. There may be some comparison during regular season but Kobe has proved that he cannot raise his level of skill or his teammates like MJ did. MJ was a motivator and a leader.
