People can be so mean and selfish. yeah, we feel sorry that amy died. she shared something personal with the world, and now the world feels a loss. what she died from doesn't make a difference. and no, knowing that cancer victims die too isn't going to make me feel less sorry for the loss of amy. we all go sometime, but we don't all touch the hearts of millions of people we've never met.
@sixstoriesfall It's actually an illness. Get your shit together and choose your words carefully. Take your judgmental hate elsewhere. Why would you post it on a video that is going to be seen by people who have loving things to say about her? Fuck off.
The first time in 1999, when she was listened to by the musical director of a youth jazz orchestra, after 4 songs, she was foreseen to be a SUPERSTAR in years to come.
It is sad to see, there are STILL people around, who did NOT recognize, she HAD already become a SUPERSTAR.
@matttber2497 I couldn't cry as my dad died the week before and when I saw the deadlines I had no more to give, now it's different and she inspires me every day!!
@OTBASAR I wish more videos of Amy like these were being played on television over here in the states. Even after her death, i have not seen much of Amy over here in the states on music television. It really is sad :(
I wonder if its better over in London.
Wish i was over there.
I am willing to bet over there in London they are being much more respectful towards her legacy and there may be MUCH MORE videos like this on television there.
@AlphaBionic2016 its the same in canada. virtually nothing. i don`t get it. she was the greatest by a mile. its a joke that only a handful of people get the punchline. i am glad i got it.
I see two completely different people in video from 2003/4 and then videos from 2005-9. I loved both, but it just shows what the drugs/booze did so quickly
I know shes been gone since June 2011 but I watched this in October 2011. And all the emotions and the sense of great lose overcame me again. RIP Beautiful child We love you.
@disiscare I see why you would say that BUT Amy loved him for some reason.Obviously he didnt come at her full blown drug addict or she probably wouldnt have fell in love with him.She obviously saw something in him and fell in love.Drugs probably came after that fact.I wouldnt say I like/dislike him but we have to keep in mind they both had a disease. From what I gather Amy was predisposed to addiction/depression way before Blake was in the picture.
@disiscare .....Agreed once all was said they shouldnt have been anywhere near each other, for both of their sakes and sobriety.DONT get me wrong I LUV AMY and will debate ANY1 who says anything bad about her but I think she was also a very smart woman and just got caught up in all the drama of being famous.
I'm not proclaiming to be her biggest fan or anything but this is when she was at her best - without doubt. Full of self confidence, no tatooes, less make up. So what happened ? Was her marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil really that bad because she seemed to lack everything she excelled at as the years went by. Sad. Very very sad. I am totally behind her Dad going to the Government for support for drug/alcohol victims because at present these people have nothing except for volunteers.
@blazinbloke Her dad has made a very very big mistake and failed to go to the government beforehand. She was addicted and needed help. Since 2007, she was playing the extra time, which would not last long. The launch of the website in 2007 on whenwillamywinehousedie was the final warning. Noone has a right to give harm to an individual, even when that individual was herself. He was supposed to appeal to court for extended therapy of her daughter under lock, if that was the ultimate measure.
@OTBASAR her father did try to have her committed, it didn't work. he moved in w/her at one point, after a fight with blake where they both wound up in scratches, he checked in to the hotel they were staying at. There were according to her mother, a few interventions wherever they could be had. So much was done to try and help Amy, but she had enough money and fame to just walk out. :(
@jeunefillenyc That is what I mean. Just plain convincing would not help... If her father had appealed to court for rehab of his daughter in a clinic under lock, her money would not help to go out. If he had really insisted, he would get that permit..no way out..that is life..Why is still her ex-husband in jail? Because of giving harm to an individual, isn't it.? In this case indiv. was herself. There were so many serious signals for this outcome and this tragic end was not just accidental.
I'm not proclaiming to be her biggest fan or anything but this is when she was at her best - without doubt. Full of self confidence, no tatooes, less make up. So what happened ? @BeatFRK I hope so too! I'm 61..and looked her up on line after she died...within 4 days I had ordered all her music on vinyl,cds,dvds...and posters..pictures...my house looks like a worship sanctuary for AW! Only Jimi Hendrix moved me soooo...Amy is the only female singer I DO! She's not "dirty"..just honest. Its amazing how little known she is in America.....their loss! Her rhythms are very similar to what I created for years. My Jesus tunes are on youtube::chazmology.. late 70s
@chazmology I congratulate and respect you and your taste of music. You are surely a connoisseur of music and take music seriously..Such a true analysis and comprehension of her music, proven by action rather than in writing. You are surely a member of the family, whom Amy managed to change their lives..same as mine.
A rare talent with that very special something---the X factor-- that only one in millions are both with. So sad she was equally cursed with demons she could not shake. RIP sweet Amy.
I'm so sad Amy died.... Amazing Soul Singer she was!
When she was alive people only said shit about her life, more than anything... only now she died everybody will remember how amazing her albuns are! (It will happen the same with Whitney, It already happened with Michael... F*ck the media!)
Even when her voice was with serious problems at the Lisbon concert I was loving her there the same way! She apologized and she tried her best after... she was one of a kind!
I wish there would be more focus on her music, which to my surprise is really good. Her voice has quite a unique quality to it. This girl, at least when somewhat sober and focused, is capable of delivering some live performances of a very high caliber. She is an artist of the good old style; no autotune, no lip-synching just pure performance. Thats a rare thing these days, at least in popular music. Screw tabloids, listen to the music. Whether you like her or not; this girl has talent.
I just pray Amy can get back to this standard her voice is just mesmerizing, pray for a peaceful & safe recovery, another immaculate perfomance to the amy we love & know - at her best
@mortyok3 I agree and it makes me so angry that this deplorable loser got his drug-infested claws into Amy who was sweet, vulnerable and more unique than any artist of my generation. I hope he meets a nasty end once he is released from jail.
