The bad part was, Tony got hooked on Opiates (Heroin) due to him falling and breaking his (everything) and he ends up.. well.. ruined cause of it.. and the very SAME FUCKING THING happened to me! thank fucking GOD for suboxone helping me get OFF that shit! cause its HELL getting off Heroin/Opiates after you been on em a while.. the part where he was crying looking for dope while (people are strange) was playing, that part hits home like you wouldnt BELIEVE! (well im sure alot of you CAN believe)
@Toyman1982 You're definitely right about that one. I'm crying right along with him because I'm almost two days into my opiate (pain pills, not heroin, thank goodness) detox right now.. It hurts so much.. mentally and physically
Hey does but i think Vinnie looks like the anime character Lupin The Third even from Hayao Miyazkai's Castle of Cogliostro. Say uh since your an 80's/early 90's child like me, do you remembered watching this on TBS when you were my age of 12 18 years ago? they also showed Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival and Rock and Rule.
You seen Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, American Pop and Rock and Rule on TBS or TNT back in the early 90's too? nice! our generation the kids of the 80's discovered these amazing adult animated cult classics even when renting them uncut and uncensored on video. When i was 13 i made myself VHS taped copies of the uncut Rock and Rule, Robot Carnival and Vampire Hunter D then when i was 15 i bought HM on video to see it uncut/uncensored and this at 17 on vid
@misterprickly Much like Fritz the cat Bakshi shows time and culture thou the eyes of the main characters, but mainly it's a story of one family's falls and rises done in a way that is not used often, and that's what I like in it, and I'm NOT saying that every thing ells he made is no good. Personally I think Fritz the cat is his best work, but I like Hard traffic, Hey Good looking, Coon skin gave me a lot of laughs. In many ways he is a director that beat his time.
jimmi hedrix is fucking awsome but he went first becouse back in those days people were bigger racist than now and even tought hedrix was great he wasnt treated that great ...
Did anyone catch the mistake at (1:37) right as frankie says "stay" look at the blond guy in the background. For a brief second, he has no head or arms.
Note that not does Philoctetes plays "Purple Haze", but also every member of the band has some purple to their attire. Not sure what that signifies, but I found it interesting.
The scene where Tony realizes that he had a son never fails to tear me up. I replayed 4:31 so many times the time I saw it. What a portrayal of forgone happiness and despair, against the deep blue night sky and the corn fields of Kansas.
Although I've seen this movie many times, only now am I noticing two key things:
1) Everyone's wearing the same clothes when Frankie's body is taken away as they were when they were backstage...so I guess this means she died that very night in Kansas City.
2) Note that not only does Jimi sing 'Purple Haze,' but also every member of the band has some purple to their attire. Not sure what that signifies, but I found it interesting.
The first time I saw this film, there was a slight difference to this scene...When Little Peter is asked what his Dad would say, Pete says "Nothing...He's dead." I saw that version about 1982 and haven't seen it since...only this version. Pete's answer here makes more sense.
